The 49ers’ offensive line took another hit today as starting right tackle Tony Pashos was lost for the season with a broken left shoulder blade. He was placed on injured reserve today.
The 49ers will sign tackle Chris Patrick off the Chiefs practice squad, according to Adam Caplan of Scout.com. Patrick is primarily a right tackle who can play left tackle. The 49ers have not announced that move.
Adam Snyder will likely move back to right tackle, where he started the first five games of the season before moving to right guard, where he split time Sunday with Chilo Rachal.
Pashos started his first game of the season on Sunday but he was injured after the 49ers’ failed fourth-down play. Pashos’ left shoulder struck Texans linebacker Brian Cushing after Cushing nearly intercepted Shaun Hill’s pass. Pashos did not return to action.
Pashos, a seven-year veteran, signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Sept. 7 after he was among the Jacksonville Jaguars’ final cuts.
In another roster move, the 49ers activated rookie outside linebacker Diyral Briggs from the practice squad and released veteran Marques Harris. Briggs originally survived the 49ers’ final cuts but was released a day later when the club signed Pashos.
