This year the beat writers voted Donte Whitner the Garry Niver award winner for the player most accommodating with the press.
Garry Niver covered the championship 49ers teams for the San Mateo Times. He died in the early ‘90s of a heart attack. My dad knew him very well and says he was a lovely man. The award is named in his honor.
Whitner was a great choice for the Niver award. He’s accommodating and generous with everyone.
But lots of 49ers are accommodating and generous in their own ways. I got to know quite a few 49ers this season, and here are my five favorites.
1. Vernon Davis. He’s the biggest star on the team – bigger than Jim Harbaugh – and yet he’s easy to relate to. I didn’t even have to try to relate to him – he wants to relate to everyone. He makes it a point to say hello to each member of the press as he walks through the locker room. He makes eye contact and smiles. He sees every question as a fair challenge. He thinks and speaks for himself. He’s equally thoughtful and creative talking about football and non-football topics. He’ll give one-on-one interviews on the spot, and he’ll also linger long after group interviews to answer individual questions.
My dad always told me when I was a kid that athletes come into the league pleasant and normal but as they get rich and successful they inevitably change. You’d expect a player as famous as Davis to blow off the media sometimes at this point in his career, but he doesn’t. Every day he’s thrilled like a rookie as he answers our questions. But he’s not a rookie. He’s Vernon Freaking Davis.
2. Anthony Dixon. The biggest talker on the team, you could even call him flamboyant. But he didn’t get much playing time this year, so he didn’t get the chance to answer many questions.
Still, he was my go-to guy. His words didn’t carry the weight of Davis’ because he’s young and he’s low on the offensive depth chart, but he’ll sit and talk about anything. You can get three, four-minute monologues from him on almost any topic.
One time I asked him what he kept in his locker. He gave me a full presentation, going through and explaining his possessions one by one including Gold Bond Powder, deodorant and facial cream.
3. Ricky Jean Francois. Davis and Dixon are performers. Jean Francois is an observer. While Davis is holding a 20-minute group interview and Dixon is starting a dance party at the other end of the locker room, Jean Francois is sitting on his stool watching. He can relate to the players fine – he’s always talking with Parys Haralson and Ian Williams, and he’ll jump into Dixon’s dance parties every now and then. But the way he observes and analyzes, he’s more like a writer. If you ask him a question, he gives you a look like, “I’m glad you asked that, I just so happen to have a really interesting thing to say about that.” Or if you ask a question that doesn’t do anything for him, he’ll take you in a more interesting direction. He’s so good he can write your story for you.
4. Donte Whitner. The most mature man on the team. He’s not as whimsical and creative as Davis, Dixon and Jean Francois, but he’s especially sincere. Here’s what I mean.
The week before the NFC championship I wrote about the two Donte Whitners – On-the-field Donte and Off-the-field Donte. On-the-field Donte had just become an iconic player in the NFL the Saturday before with his knockout hit on Pierre Thomas, and all the national media wanted to talk to him.
I wanted to interview him one-on-one, so I waited until after his group interview one day to ask him about his two personalities. But the group interview went well over half an hour, and it wasn’t fair to ask him to do a one-on-one with me on top of that. So, I asked him if he would do the interview the next day. He said, “I’m good with that,” and he put out his fist for me to pound.
The next day, he sat just with me at his locker answering my questions for ten minutes before his group interview.
5. Chris Culliver. I never really went to Culliver for quotes. He’s not too comfortable talking on the record yet, he just finished his rookie season. He hasn’t found his voice, like these other four guys have.
But, he’s my age, and we related well.
Let me explain through my wristwatch. My girlfriend got me a big-faced stainless steel Michael Kors watch for Christmas. It’s the closest thing I have to jewelry, and I’m very proud of it.
There was an article in the New York Times around Christmas about a concept called “wrist presence.” It was about how watches are getting bigger, and the industry term for that is “wrist presence.”
I’ve noticed that a lot of the 49ers, especially the young ones, have wrist presence. I asked Aldon Smith if he had any. He looked at me like I was crazy, so I showed him my watch. He laughed and said he wasn’t in to jewelry. Fair enough.
I asked Culliver the same wrist-presence question and he knew exactly what I was talking about. He peeled back his jacket sleeve and showed me his watch, and it just happened to be the same one I had – the Michael Kors.
I showed him that we were watch twins. He smiled an embarrassed smile and walked away. I felt like I had ruined his day. If I was a football player I wouldn’t want a sports writer wearing my watch.
“I’ve BEEN wearing Michael Kors,” he muttered to himself, as if I stole and then ruined his style.
But the next week he tapped me on the shoulder in the locker room and said, “Guess what?”
The question caught me off guard. I’ve never heard a professional athlete ask a writer “Guess what?” Usually they let the writers come to them.
“What?” I asked him.
“Shawntae Spencer got me a new watch,” he said, grinning.
He one-upped my wrist presence, in other words, and he wanted me to know.
“Can I see it?” I asked. I didn’t know what else to say.
“No,” he said, feigning fear that my girlfriend would go out and buy me this watch, too.
Culliver and I spoke frequently on and off the record after that, but he never showed me the mystery gift watch.
I have to assume it was fictional. Chris, if you’re reading this, the ball’s in your court. Prove the existence of the new watch or accept the fact that my presence is just as present as your presence.

@dr
The haters will just claim stats are for losers looking at this list.
Then turn around and use stats to prove their point that AS sucks, and you can’t argue facts (stats) when in fact the two us know you most certainly can. Haters do not realize that you can’t pick and choose stats. You either accept them as tools to analyze players or not.
Wanna guess their political party? I bet there is strong correlation between the two.
Statistics must clearly be part of the evaluation process, but can also be deceiving. Tony Romo puts up great numbers every year, but the guy is so erratic – you never know what you’re going to get from him in a big game.
I happen to think Alex did a great job in both playoff games, despite the infamous 3rd-down and WR numbers against the Giants. Analysts such as Greg Cosell can rightfully point out specific plays in which he failed to find open receivers, but there are very few QBs – we’re talking Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady range here – for whom it is a shock to see them not see the entire field on a given down. Alex kept many plays alive with his feet and hung in against a fierce pass rush, keeping his eyes downfield for much longer than he used to. I used to derisively call the guy “Captain Checkdown,” but not anymore. It looked to me like he really fought against NY, and tried to make things happen. Crabs complained (in the press, no less) that even when he looks covered he should get the ball, get the chance to fight for it. I would say that’s actually valid, that a No. 1 WR in the NFL should have that ability. But Crabs has yet to consistently show that ability; he’s no Larry Fitzgerald – at least not yet. And if Alex had tried that and Crabs either didn’t fight or lost the fight, that could have lost the NFC Championship game for us. Not to mention the crucifixion of Alex that would have surely followed.
Anyway, I got off on this tangent because of the playoff QB rating stats drsgrosse was kind enough to post. I do think these happen to be indicative of which QBs have performed the best so far … certainly Rodgers’ numbers are crippled by nine(!) drops and his receivers simply not winning their battles downfield. In this tiny sample size, however, we see that the QBs who advanced did well, except Breees – who singlehandedly almost beat a great defense at home.
I’d point out, though, that QBR is an infamously flawed stat. I’m no Tebow booster, but a few numbers that don’t show up in his season QBR are his record as a starter and stats reflecting his impact in the rushing game. And in the NFL, the only thing that really matters is winning. Trent Dilfer has a ring. Dan Marino does not. So how a QB fits into his team’s concept as a whole is something unmeasurable by numbers. However, basic numbers such as turnover percentage (including fumbles), third-down conversion rate, completion percentage … these are all very helpful at figuring out pieces of the picture.
BTW, after severely criticizing Alex for years, I loudly championed him to be re-signed for 2011, reasoning he was our best option in the truncated off-season and that he would do well in Harbaugh’s system. Now I’m all for him getting a three-year deal and I think, if the stars align and we can add, say, Coby Fleener at the end of the 1st round and a speed burner in the 2nd, that this offense will be not just better, but genuinely good in 2012.
Das
Are you new here? If so, welcome. If not, I still say welcome.
I don’t like actual stats in sports, football in particular. I do like raw data. Raw data includes TD passes and Int’s. The QB rating is not raw data. Is it made up system that can be too easily skewed by numbers that don’t at all reflect the main goal at this level of football which is to win games. QB rating is a stat, not raw data.
So, if you look at my posts, I almost never use numbers at all. And when I do it is nearly exclusively raw data (TD:Int ratio). To me the TD:Int ratio is the most important number a QB has besides wins. It is also the one that the “experts” spend the least amount of time discussing, which tells me that they don’t know numbers/stats at all. The ratio tells me if the QB is smart with the ball, or is he just wining it out there. It is not skewed by throwing a lot of passes, and it tells me if the guy can make good decisions. And nearly the whole job of playing QB is about making good decisions. Not TD’s thrown or yards passed.
Another thing that the QB rating does not account for are drops. The Niners were the top 5 (if not the top team in drops/pass attempts). Many of those drops were on 3rd down or even TD’s. So, how can one measure a QB’s true skill if his WR’s drop the ball so often? And of course I am interested in the ratio of drops/pass attempts. A team that passes 50x a game and only has 2% more drops than a team that passes 23x a game is a much better WR team. But no stats really take that into account either.
Rushing yards is something else that needs to be considered. AS in that Giants game tore up the Giants D big time with his legs. Yet, he gets no statistical credit to his QB rating for doing so. The goal of the QB is to win and to win you need to score. To score, you need to move your team down the field. It should not matter if a QB passed for 10 yards or ran for 10 yards in the realm of stats, or even in the realm of the game. He moved his team 10 yards further downfield. That is all that matters. But the QB rating which everybody goes by to measure how good a QB is does not account for it, and that is just retarded.
Oh yeah, I concur with your reply (re: stats). They’re part of the picture, not the whole thing. And you’re quite right about Alex’s running in that game — very exciting if that’s more of the Niners’ attack going forward, especially with CK in the wings. BTW, as a friend pointed out, as good as this draft has already proven, how good might it turn out to be if Kaepernick is worth the trade-up they made to get him?
I’d be interested to see that stat about team drops — it wouldn’t surprise me to see us high on that list, but my gut feeling is that we improved over the season in that regard. I think we’re also hurt by losing Morgan, who I think is flat-out better than Crabtree. Having him back could make a big difference next year.
And thanks for the welcoming sentiment.
@das
You’re welcome.
You seem to have a good feel for things. I hope to see you around more.
Another cool read Grant. Thanks.
This is the stuff, Grant. We can read about QB controversies any and every other place. We get the insider goodies only here. Thanks for this column!
Cool little tidbits. Nice
Grant.
Do you plan on giving your prediction for the Superbowl anytime soon?
I personally don’t want to see Brady tie Montana with 4 SB wins. I still have issues with the Steelers having one more trophy over us (lol).
Plucked my thoughts from the cobwebs in my mind. I too do not want to see Brady with 4 and I too hope for the day that the 49ers are the first to 7 Super Bowls as they were first to 5.
I’ve been trying to figure out who to cheer for in the Superbowl. You guys just gave me the information I needed to decide. Thanks! Go Giants!
I still can’t decide. I hate the Giants!!! I also want Montana’s record to stand alone – and the Pats are getting too close to our 5 SB wins if they pull of another one.
But, on the other hand, I still hate the Giants!! And, Brady is a local guy who grew up a Niner fan, so if anyone is going to tie Montana at least it would be a Niner fan who worshed Joe as a kid.
That and….I hate the Giants!!
UGH!! Any chance this game will be cancelled and neither will win a SB this year?
I hate the Giants but don’t want Brady to even up the score, so for a lack of a better word, rooting for the Giants, have a gut feeling, they will win big.
i’ve liked culliver ever since seeing his quote after the lions game where he told megatron to suck it up he’s too big to be crying for flags all the time.
the fact that he seems to be developing well and on his way to becoming a good corner doesn’t hurt either :)
Love these pieces Grant. Please keep it up!
I love those type of interactions! Fun to read Grant! Good to see you have great balance in your life.
U use to get the 49ers gold subscription in the mail, i read 49ers.com, NFL.com, and this year i started surfing the web for more insight to the niners. NinerNation, And ect. I came across ur Inside the niners page about game 2. been reading it all year. Honestly, Im jealous. I couldnt think of a better way to spend a career by being involved with this team. living in Indiana, it sucks. i was hoping to c em indy, love ur post. really do. wish i could b there in the bay. im a musician. Thorn4Memory.com maybe one day it will lead me there!
I’m from Elkhart near South Bend, Indiana and I too was hoping for a trip to Indy with the Family to enjoy some 49er Fan Comaraderie.
Grant, enjoyed every word…excellent read! BTW, I think the biggest non-wrist presence these days are iphones? Time included. lol
Chill on the iphone hating. I live and breathe by it.
lol
I’m with md. Back off the iPhone or I steal your wine.
+1
Great piece Grant. Who would be your top choice from the coaching staff?
Thank you, Tomsula by a mile. He’s wonderful.
No Joe Staley? He trys too hard to be a character?
I would kill to hear the bottom five…tick tick tick,I think It would start at the highest levels…
The players on the DL think he’s great too. Thanks for answering Grant. Keep ‘em coming.
Ahhhhhh could have been these guys at media day at the superbowl shoot!!!!
Love the article.
This truly good stuff, Grant! These are the sorts of insights that we fans can’t get… only from stuff like this. I enjoyed this very much.
Good stuff!
I’ll bet you half of the players mentioned wouldn’t know what your talking about. I’ve been around plenty and they carry themselves completely different or detached dealing with the media compared to the rest of their lives. Many athletes take great pleasure stringing along media (Favre) for kicks. Something to do between Sundays. They know how quickly you will turn on them when it’s to your advantage. Some of your observations border on the self-absorbed. Not a fan of any bay area media but this is child like and self promoting. Wow, I got a big watch….same as you….how stupid.
Great storys Grant. I guess we have the wrist presence in common
Nice read sideburns!
Much better. Humanizing the team makes feel closer to them. Thanks.
Grant, you killed it again. This is the very best source for inside 49er info. Keep it coming. We’ll all be watching you on ESPN someday!
Good job Grant. Enjoyed reading this blog … I’m new on here
Okay article. Can this guy go through a whole article without mentioning his dad?
Only naive Grant, can think Vernon is bigger than Harbaugh….
Nice read! Thanks
nice job grant. you better watch out if you keep writing articles with a positive sin your dads going to disown you
my bad thats spin not sin
“My dad always told me when I was a kid that athletes come into the league pleasant and normal but as they get rich and successful they inevitably change. ”
Money changes everyone to some degree. So would poverty. It’s called life changes. If your insinuating players become jaded and cynical after they achieve some level of wealth there might be a kernel of truth to that theory. However, I have an alternate possibility. Perhaps players get tired of being second guessed, asked the same stupid questions repeatedly, or burned by journalists when maybe the player is being a little too honest. Perhaps some journalists look to unfairly criticize players or cast them in the most negative light possible to further their own careers (see Skip Bayless). It might not be the money and fame that changes players. For some players it might be that negative experiences dealing with certain journalists creates animosity with all journalists. Just a thought.
Houston,
That might be part of it.
Another possibility is that when players are new pros everything is different for them and they are out of their comfort zone. When people are uncomfortable they tend to be less themselves and go with the flow more. As time goes by, and they become more and more comfortable, their true personality starts to show itself [for good or bad].
It’s an interesting and complex subject.
@exgolfer
“When people are uncomfortable they tend to be less themselves and go with the flow more.”
I agreed all the way up to :
“…and go with the flow more.”
I actually think it is the reverse. If I am uncomfortable, I try to turn it into a more comfortable situation. And, I can’t do that if I am not being myself. If going with the flow is not the flow I go, then I dig up a new river bed and direct the water that way.
Hey Grant, nice article – these are definitely the most fun to read!
I had to laugh at the watch twins part – had a funny mental image of you two touching your watch faces together and saying “Wonder Twin Powers Activate!” (Of course, you’re both young enough that you might have to look that up…:-)
Guess CC isn’t cool with his wrist presence being cloned…which is funny in itself (kinda like when two celebrities show up at the same event wearing the same outfit – only to find themselves in a trashy TMZ type mag with a poll stating “Who wore it best?”).
Super Friends was a great cartoon show, I even enjoyed the teens Marvin, Wendy and Super Dog before that! I should have my kids watch that on Sunday instead of the Super Bowl, This one is so painfull because I thought we would be the ones in it to win it, oh well, this is bettern then being on the bottom of the scrap heap.
I agree – making plans to go watch this SB feels like planning to watch a train wreck just for fun.
Might be the first year where I’m more interested in the commercials :(
+1
@houston……absolutley agree
What do you do ,write your name in invisible ink?
Great write-up Grant. If I had to read one more write up about free agency or players tendered to future contracts, I was going to scream. Nice to find a writer that gives a different tilt to the locker room and its players. That story about Cully was especially funny. No one wants to have their swagger jacked and it was apparent Cully thought you swagger-jacked him, lol…..hilarious read. Keep up the solid work Grant.
@stan if that comment was for me. i ca’nt figure out how to get my name on the screen
Are you using a PC computer or a phone/mobile device?
Experimenting…
You type something in the “Website” box, like “Insidethe49ers”?
I never type anything in that box, but I will try this time to see…
I am gone. OMG.
LOL
“You type something in the “Website” box, like “Insidethe49ers”?”
No. I leave that box blank.
Just type in the name you want and your email (first 2 boxes). Leave the last one empty.
Although it looks like you have it figured out now…AlbertS
Being that lessons are being given,lol, how do you post links to click on?
@MontanaMan16
Just go ahead and copy paste the address of the webpage into the area where we write our comments.
So, to get a link to this webpage, Just copy the address, and paste it in here.

If you don’t have a copy/paste function, then you will need to manually copy the page address. And that can really suck. lol
Sorry. See jgwindsor’s post instead. He was first.
do u have something typed into your “website” bar…..i had a problem with this for a while and my name came up blank…..if something is written in it try clearing it and see if your name shows up in the ‘name’ bar
…….still hurts……
…FARK!!!!!…… :’-( … :’-(
@oneniner
Where have you been?
I think writing about it helped me.
..i can’t……it really hurts…..boycotted all sports news since the loss…… :’-(
@one
Well I have not bothered listening to KNBR since the day after.
You guys are lucky, Pity ribico in NYC surrounded by all things Giants.
(actually most the people I know out here are either Jets or Eagles fans)
….
NFL has released the match ups for the 2012 season. In addition to the NFC West teams, the Niners will be playing NFC North and AFC East teams. On paper, this looks like a tough schedule …
Home: Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, New York Giants, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins
Away: Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, New York Jets
Wow! That DOES look tough! Both Superbowl teams, the Saints, the Pack… But as Patrick Willis said, “How better to be the best than to beat the best?” Go NINERS!
Niners sign some players … add depth at OL
http://blog.sfgate.com/49ers/2012/01/31/49ers-sign-two-more-to-reservefuture-contracts/
I wont watch one snap of the superbowl!
Interesting column with ESPN the Insider on the ranking of QB’s this year in the NFL, Sorry to say Alex Lover’s, that he was ranked 20th among QB’s. Way to generous if you ask me. But probably about right.
If you are referring to Dilfers article you are not being honest Neal. They weren’t ranked by numbers they were ranked by groups and Smith was in a group named by Dilfer as Mostly Good. His group included: Cam Newton, Mike Vick, Andy Dalton, Josh Freeman, Carson Palmer and Matt Hasselback. Dilfer also said the following in his caption about Smith:
I may be more bullish than some, but I see development here. If he can become more aggressive while limiting mistakes, San Fran can win. Gets points for an improved trajectory.
As I say to all those who dislike Smith, you don’t have to like him, but don’t spin things to paint a negative picture either. Dilfer actually views Smith quite favorably if you’ve ever heard him talk about him and putting him in the same group as some of these guys is hardly a negative take on Alex Smith.
Keep it real Neal.
@rocket
Listening to Dilfer talk about AS, I actually think he likes AS more than SY. And I also think Dilfer is one of AS’s strongest supporters. He never said “AS can’t do it.” He’s only said “AS hasn’t done it, but I think he can” type comments in regards to AS.
I would take all of those QB’s over AS except for MH, as his career is almost over, don’t want the dog killer but he is better then AS.
@rocket – Dilfer says in the article that the placements were not an accident.
“You are also welcome to read into the order in which guys are placed within each section — that’s not declarative, but it’s not an accident.”
He has Smith at #20, below Hasslebeck, Palmer and Freeman.
I was a bit surprised to see that from Dilfer when I read it. He’s been a huge Alex supporter. My guess is he ranked Alex lower as a way to overcompensate for bias – he’s known to be a personal friend of Smith.
Personally, I’d have Smith a lot closer to 15 than 20 and definitely ahead of Palmer and Hasslebeck. Those guys are toast and Smith is still improving.
I just don’t see Flacco, Ryan, Cutler, Hasselbeck, Palmer, Dalton, or Freeman as better than Smith right now. I’m not saying they’re all clearly worse right now, though some most definitely are, IMO.
msclemons,
You’re right I missed that. Neal the number you mentioned was right, my apologies. I didn’t see any numbers just the category he placed each guy in. Like msclemons, I think Smith is right around the middle of the pack.
DS,
Dilfer has always supported Alex. You can tell he is pulling for the guy. SY likes Alex too, I just see SY wanting to see more from him, as we all do I’m sure.
Neal why is that a holes like you can’t stop bringing up Alex and writing about it. I mean this thread has nothing to do with Alex! Then you wonder why we call your type haters, is it maybe cause you guys cant let it go, want to start another debate all things Alex when what us 49er fans are trying to do is move on and discuss anything else that hasn’t been discussed for the last 8 years, let it go sh$t disturber!
@prime
I would really like to know why the haters are so obsessed with gender/naming people opposite gender names (Alice), and what may or may not be between somebody’s legs.
Don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the haters are the only ones who seem to care about my gender. They always state that I am a woman, despite any actual evidence. You can start to understand their method in thinking about AS when you see how they act with my gender.
Neither you, oneniner, ribico or anybody else who I frequently have nice conversations with ever brings up my gender to me or anbody else. Whether you think I am a girl or boy bears no bearing on this blog for you guys.
But the haters? They are obsessed with it. 49erGirl and BigP in particular are always there to say I’m a girl to anybody anytime, without me ever stating anything confirming it. And those who support AS (or at least don’t hate him) never do bring up my gender.
When rocket correctly brought this to their attention once, 49erGirl came out of nowhere to tell rocket he was wrong, even after I confimed rocket was correct.
Also notice that none of us supporters ever talk about our jock, or AS’s, but the haters are obsessed with AS’s jockstrap, and our groin regions.
That tells you something about the haters. A true difference in how they view things and how the non-haters view things.
I don’t really care what your gender is, but it is absurd to pretend you’re something you’re not….like an alien (which is your common response when asked directly – more often than not, a man would vehemently deny it if someone were to suggest he was actually a woman).
For the record, you have never denied being female – only suggested it shouldn’t matter when discussing the topics on the blog (which is actually a valid point).
Care to clear up the confusion by explaining these posts, DS?
You’re not a woman, but you have a hubby?
“DS94everXev says:
November 6, 2011 at 11:22 am
My hubby called it. Get the TO, then the TD!”
So how did you remove the extra chromosome if you are a man? Curious about the science behind that.
“DS94everXev says:
November 7, 2011 at 6:40 pm
‘….And, I am a person who has 23 sets of chromosomes, yes. You are correct.’”
And how about your stance on the gender region – your retort to Ninermd a while back suggests otherwise. Guess you’re one of the haters too – you were certainly talking about his jock…:
” DS94everXev says: November 2, 2011 at 8:08 pm. I don’t know what horrible thing I wrote to Tim. Your penis must be shrinking.”
Honestly, I can’t think of a single man that would ever say that to another man…ever…
I don’t hate the Niners, I love the team 100% and have for over 30 years. I don’t hate you either, but I certainly like Jack Hammer’s response about what he would do if you were on fire.
I’d bring the graham crackers :-)
actually i thought DS floored us during an early season ball game with some kind of reference that she was a girl….i even commented on it, something to the effect that i needed to step back and reassess….
i did accuse DS of being a blowhard though…..not so much name calling but referencing the sheer volume of correspondence associated with this particular blogger…but i guess i crossed the line,
guess i should take a break …..
didn’t grant say jack hammer was a double poster or something
49ergirl,
You let her have it. Be careful, when you make her accountable for her words she will claim you are a stalker.
@49erGirl
Nice, you came out with guns blazing.
Oh, what’s that I hear? Hmm, silence from DS94.
49erGirl,
Ouch!!! That will leave a mark!
@Prime Time,
Do you think I give a pimple on a pig’s ass what you think of me? you could not survive a blog in Phili, Chicago or New York, when in NY they were throwing players under the bus, players like Zito and AS would not survive because they are passionate, and we are haters because god forbid, we are so critical of your man crush AS, this type of stuff makes me laugh that this little blog really hurts, you, I am so sorry to get under your skin, not joining the lovers cult. Are you the Prez of the AS fan club hahaha?
Are you the Prez of the AS fan club hahaha?
More likely JH or Vernon or the girl I saw on TV holding the “I Love Alex” sign.
“Neal why is that a holes like you can’t stop bringing up Alex and writing about it. I mean this thread has nothing to do with Alex! ”
And yet you had no issue with Smithers derailing this thread starting with the 2nd post. Go figure.
@ MS,
“Neal why is that a holes like you can’t stop bringing up Alex and writing about it. I mean this thread has nothing to do with Alex! ”Wow sounds like you need therapy MS, if this little blog with my opinion bothers you sound like a sandwich short of a picnic. ” AS sucks, AS sucks, AS sucks oh boy are you losing your temper hahaha
erm.. Neal, I was quoting the OP. :p
Your right ms, sorry I thought you were the second person tonight calling me a arse :), and by the way I am more of a arse man then a boob man, nothing wrong with boobs but I like me a arse. This will be my last post tonight as it shows I am not understanding and grasping much right now and becoming arse.
Speaking of Don Cornelius..I always thought he was an unhappy man..he must have had chronic deppression most of his life. It was like he never could be happy no matter how much success.
@ DS and 49ergirl, seriously? If your a Smither let it go, if your hater, let it go. This back and forth Alex thing is so out of hand that it now is getting personal between bloggers. Heres my plea to everyone, if the topic that Grants write is about Alex, have at it! If its not, don’t bring up anything Alex if you can!
It’s kind of comical the heated debate that the mention of one player can start up. I don’t mind the odd he’s this or he’s that debate but when the insults start flying I lose interest in a hurry.
@prime
When I started blogging, I tried that.
But everybody else ignored it, so I eventually stopped doing that.
If Grant made it a rule, I would support it. But if we leave it to all of us…not going to happen. You’re just going to get upset and nobody is going to change anyway. So you (I when I tried) take two shots.
I bet more than not, everybody tried that when they started.
Prime…Once the posts start to dwindle, guess who’s name will be mentioned by one GC so the activity on this blog will get a major bump. Maiocco was a good one for that too. LOL That being said there’s been a variety of subjects written about here, which has been interesting.
Stan?
Roger that, niner61
All in all, I do agree with both Prime Time and DS9 also. I do believe there is still a place on here for civility; let’s find it….
@oregon
The easiest road for civility is for people to realize who they get into fights with and stay away from them.
But it does not work nearly so well if both sides (49ergirl) don’t follow the same rule.
@prime time and DS94,
You two have no credibility when it comes to being civil. You – especially Prime Time – have been quite prolific in name calling on this blog. Respect others if you want respect in return.
@nick
It is simple.
Don’t put me down. Don’t put my team down.
Find an instance where I was not civil to somebody who did not do either to me. Find somebody who welcomes new posters who did not insult me or my team more often than I have. And you come at me saying I’m not civil?
And look back at what you wrote recently. You most certainly have not been civil.
Might want to take note that prime and myself as well as oregon and niner61 are wanting civil discourse here, now.
You don’t. Or if you do, this post did a bad job reflecting that. You want civil discourse? In a thread asking to have it, attacking others just shows your lack of maturity.
“Don’t put my team down.”
Unless you’re talking about the WR’s not being very good or the OL not holding up. Then it’s OK.
**rolls eyes**
Max?
DS is a chick with penis envy.
http://www.xboxlivescore.com/profile/DS94everXev
@Grant
Ban this jerk now.
DS,
I guess I’m a hater because I am not joinng the AS fan club, but I never asked or question , nor am I interested in what your sexuality is.
DS
Ban him for what?? Have you not learned to defend yourself on this blog yet. Whatever you are, you should try defending yourself,
LMAO!
XEV-IL-Icious lol buahahahaha.
What’s the matter? Your two worlds collide unexpectedly?
…you haters are still here?…..
…guess its ok to say 49ergrl is a chick with brain/penis envy!!!!!!…..
Michael Crabtree,
The loser with multiple screen names pops up again! 49ergirl, as her screen name puts right out there, is proud to be a woman. She isn’t ashamed, nor should she be.
BigP
You flunked your English/Reading comprehension classes, didn’t you in college while you played football?
oneniner and prime time have a completely different style of writing. They present their thoughts completely differently.
If you go by just how the post is physically typed up, oneniner and jg are much more alike. Although it does not take one long to see how they are not the same person as well.
Oneniner has been here forever. Primetime has not been here anywhere near as long.
Anybody can see that they are different people. Anybody but you, bay, 23J.
In a way, I am hoping you guys are just being jerks in this manner. Because if you can’t really tell them apart…I hope you guys don’t vote.
=))
+100
Niner61 I’m not blaming the writers who choose to get hits by writing a column on Alex, we are the fools who choose to react and attack oneanorher. I’m not trying to be Mr. Righteous but it’s starting to get out of hand between some bloggers on here. This was once a decent blog, now if it’s anything Alex we attack one another like savages.
The debate has been played, what else can anyone say that has not been said over the past 7 years?
@ Prime time,
Yes you said it you are a fool to call me a hole on this little blog that you take so seriously, you might need some fresh air, if this place really bothers you. I have never insulted anyone with names on here, and I have no hatred toward AS, just think we can do better and according to ESPN the magazine they rank AS as # 20 in the NFL and that is exactly what I am talking about.
@Neal
ESPN?
You realize ESPN promoted the hell out of any NY Giant WR/QB during the 80′s and 90′s when we had JM and SY and JR, and they barely spoke about them.
I watched ESPN Primetime, and they would talk about the Niners for like 20 seconds, and the east coast teams for 9 minutes. If the east coast teams stank it was about how can they get better. If they were gokd, it was how great they are. Only bringing up the Niners if they lost.
The only time they really discussed the Niners was when SY was no longer the QB and they could talk about the end of an era of 20 years of great football. During which they never respected SF.
So, I don’t care at all. 0% confidence in ESPN.
DS,
Your a lover and I am hater, ( well that is what I am called on here ) and I am not on here to change your mind, your a passionate AS lover that is fine, but I will state my 2 cents on here too. As they say opinions are like assholes everyone has one. I could care less on what your opinion is on ESPN.
ESPN is based in Hartford CT. The NFL offices are on Park Ave. in NYC. They call the team in New York, the New York Giants. The last time they played a game in NY I believe Gerald Ford was president, or maybe Nixon. They are the New Jersey Giants, oh yeah, New York doesn’t recognize New Jersey as part of anything. When they had a parade after their last Super Bowl it was in NYC, but they play in Jersey. What’s the rationale? Why haven’t the politicians in Joisey done anything about this?
Oh, they are Andrew
http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2012/01/gov_christie_says_a_giants_sup.html
They could even use NJ Governor Christie as one of the floats.
Thanks Ribco, my latent anger over the Championship game has to vent in some direction. When the Giants moved to the Meadowlands in 76 they changed their helmets to read GIANTS instead of NY. Curiously enough it reverted back to NY in a year or two. My question is, do the New York Giants pay state and local taxes in New York? They are probably the highest in the nation. Oh wait a second they have their facilities in New Jersey, so they pay their taxes in New Jersey, which I’m sure are much lower. The bottom line is that the New York Giants are an illusion.
They play near Seacaucus, that’s all you need to know.
My favorite 3 things about Grants blog. . 1. 49ers Grades (Ive agreed on most of them) 2. The non traditional blogs about things non related to football. It did help in getting to know the players on a personal level 3. Even tho you said u werent a big niner fan, u seemed to become one. (this was an amazing season and I hope we are 1 game better next year! Thanks 4 the great season coverage. Now lets go get Alex some recieves!
I know its too late but after watching the Giants game again i saw that number 15 stepped out of bounds then he was the first one to pick up the ball that touched kyle williams. Isnt that a penalty?
Nope Freddie. Once Williams let the ball hit him in the knee it was fair game for any player regardless of whether they were out of bounds or not. An out of bounds player cannot be the first to touch the ball. #15 wasn’t the first to touch the ball, the ignorant cow was.
How is it that AS gets brought up when he isn’t even part of the piece? Just stop it already and enjoy Grant’s article.
Next year’s schedule looks like a tough test. I’m looking forward to what the Niners can do with a full offseason of work. That schedule will build this team into a Super Bowl contender.
grant how about a few small posts a day instead of only one long one.
Here’s a good place to start. From our old friend Eric Branch:
http://blog.sfgate.com/49ers/2012/02/01/alex-smith-comeback-player-of-the-year/
Discussion about AS as the comeback player of the year. This subject got some discussion a little while back. One of the major themes of the discussion was if AS was a viable option for the award. From Eric’s article, it seems like I was correct –
“In examining the language of the AP, award, though, it’s clear Smith is a legitimate candidate. The AP recognizes the player who “shows perseverance in overcoming adversity, in the form of not being in the NFL the previous year, overcoming a severe injury, or simply a poor performance.”
I brought it up..ahead of the curve as always…
Coming back from a career of bad play?? Not the same.
>>Coming back from a career of bad play?? Not the same.
As we know, reading comprehension is no pre-req to posting.
This is an award on a year by year basis, not overall career. AS fits the AP
‘s description from *last years* to *this years* improvement due to “simply a poor performance”.
@Stan
If you want to think that, go ahead. But I mentioned it earlier in the season before you were a regular on this blog.
@ribico
“As we know, reading comprehension is no pre-req to posting. ”
That is mean. But sadly it is true. 23J among others should take advantage of the adult education classes while they are still around. They should be able to help them.
It is clear that 23J didn’t bother to look at the link. Guess he does not trust Eric Branch either.
I need to add that one to my “favorite Jordasms.” I’ve got a list of the funniest ones going.
This one, for example, is top 10 so far – just for the hysterics alone:
“Who would you rather have as GM trying to negotiate with Jim Harbaugh now? Baalke or Lombardi? Jed bumps his head once again. Niners will always be small timers.”
Going through ranking them from first to last. That one was pretty awesome.
Not sure if that’s #1. This one was really choice back in the day:
“Alex Smith is TRASH. He’s been a bust ever since the day he was drafted. If JH thinks Smith is an accurate passing QB or a durable one, just assume he is not who we thought he was! Alex is not a starting NFL quarterback. Get him out of SF please.”
@Adam
“Alex Smith is TRASH. He’s been a bust ever since the day he was drafted.”
Except for that 1 week where he was all gung ho on AS. Right?
You’re kinda scaring me Adam. You keeping track of 23J’s BS. And BigP and 49erGirl doing the same with me. Just let it all go unless it was something totally egregious. And, I am sorry, but thinking AS is good and coming up with good things he has done does not warrant an egregious act (that was not directed at you Adam, but to others).
I only save the good ones.
If it’s the usual banal drivel I don’t bother. But occasionally there’s a real gem buried in the dung.
Ribico,
He won’t win. He’s lucky he had that defense of special teams. He had been trash Adam. JH got him out of the dump. Ribico, let you fools tell it, Alex didn’t have a bad year under Singletary. If we are stuck with him, at least bring in someone to compete with him for the starting job. He will lose it like he always has! Lol.
DS,
“You’re kinda scaring me Adam. You keeping track of 23J’s BS. And BigP and 49erGirl doing the same with me.”
Yes, we keep track of your BS. Lol.
@BigP
“Yes, we keep track of your BS. Lol.”
Well, it is the off season. What else is there to do for entertainment? It’s certainly provided me with more than a few laughs!!!
;p
I just thought it was funny that she acknowledged she was full of it. ;)
So are you BigP. And everybody else here (that means you BigP). Because we don’t know, and never will. We’re just fans talking about the team. Makes us as much an expert as somebody who can’t read is in expert in literature and writing.
It’s just some of us are ok with that and we don’t act like we do know everything.
At least I say that JH knows more than I do. You never have. Little ego can’t handle it. Will you now?
Speaking of tracking BSes. Here’s one to start.
Jack Hammer:
“Albert, Not much of a fan of google myself. Prefer to actually know the game. I have spent way too much time over the years following football at all levels. Not really anything that you could get past me.”
DS,
You are full of it. You always have been and you always will be.
“Will PM be able to really play in a new system very well? Sure he can memorize the playbook fine. But I seriously doubt he can train his muscles and body to change to do the things JH’s offense requires.”
Lol!
Big P
I am sure you have more of “it” to you to be full of than I do.
I don’t really care. I said a bunch of stuff earlier this year, and you acted like Mr. Know it all and told me “No way.”
Well, a bunch of it happened. And, you still think you know it all. More than JH even.
You really don’t get it. Never have. Never will. Still need to learn how to quote people. Learn how and come back to me when you are ready.
Remember the AR thing I said.
AR has looked spectacular against unspectacular teams. And that I don’t think he is going to do this against good teams, like ours.
You came at me like hell hath no fury.
Well, guess what? When AR finally did play a good team, he stank it up BIG time. The Giants blew the Packers out of the water. All that time you spent telling me “I don’t know anything.” Well, you might have wanted to include yourself as well.
And this PM thing, sure does look like the AR thing. No proof of any kind. Going all on reputation. And, there you are. Supporting any QB not named AS.
Does anyone else find it funny and a bit ironic that the most self-righteous “know-it-all” on here has been going around telling everyone “you think you know, but you don’t know”.
DS,
AR has a SB ring and MVP trophy. The Packers played six playoff teams this year and won all six. Their division sent two teams to the playoffs, and almost sent three. You proclaimed they didn’t play anybody like the Patriots or the Saints and I reminded you that they played the Saints to kickoff the season and won. You ignored it. Meanwhile, the Patriots didn’t beat one team with a winning record all year until the AFC championship game. Great measuring stick. You said that Manning wasn’t the QB if you wanted to win in the postseason and play in and win the SB. I reminded you that he had indeed lead his team to the SB twice, winning once and collecting a SB MVP award in the process. It has absolutely nothing to do with not supporting Smith. That’s just your little manipulative tactic of playing victim when someone doesn’t agree with you. It’s kind of like when you claim your about the team, but you will rip everybody on the team if it puts Smith in a positive light. It’s very stale.
With Anthony Dixon’s size and speed, it would be great if he could be as engaging carrying the ball as he is with the media. We might have a legit ‘big back’ threat on the team.
I know he’s supossed to have speed, but he always seems so slow when he has the ball. Never been impressed with his play on the field (off the field he’s a crack-up!). Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them cut Dixon and pick up a replacement through the draft or FA.
play i remember…giants game….dixon was so close to breaking off a big run that would have put the game squarely in the hands of the niners….only to be shoe string tackled by a giant outstretched arm laying on the ground just as he was about to break out past the right side of the LOS…..
niners had so many close opportunities in this game that i kind of side with JH…..the football gods made their decision
It wasn’t God who let KW fumble,muff and bobble. JH could have yanked him,didn’t…and the 49ers are now just watchers.
so…my comment was on dixon….and if the football gods had let dixon gain all those yards on that one play KW may not have happen….a classic iffa woulda coulda blah blah blah
Hope Dixon comes back. The team needs him for short yardage situations. He improved from last year, and I feel like he’ll be even better come Opening Day.
Hey 55
Thanks for keeping Dixon’s abilities alive on the blog. I’m a believer in him and think that with a full pre-season and OTA’s with Rathman and Roman, that the clouds will part, and AD will fulfill the promise. He seems willing to take on the challenge, but with the fire drill we had this last season, I think that we witnessed quite a few of the younger players confused as to their roles. Some got better, some just stood there saying “whaaaaaa…?” When he DOES get it, he’s gonna’ be a monster….
Harbaugh was a rookie coach in the NFL. Give him a break.
The insanity in this blog is hilarious.
+1
Mmmhmm. It’s like a cross between the Jerry Springer show and high school.
@Adam
There is a difference?
The NFL approves $200 million loan for 49ers stadium
http://www.ktvu.com/news/news/nfl-approves-200-million-loan-49ers-stadium/nHSFL/
Crabtree could have played better. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, blah blah blah. The point is that no person was at fault for the team losing as a team. The problem is when they don’t do enough to improve and whine about it to the media. That’s why I have a problem with Crabtree. I thought he finally understood the team concept. Guess I was wrong.
@neal you’ve been on this blog 2 weeks, how would you know anything about my “mancrush” on AS?
Stick to being a pessimistic fan, you’lll the hate game even more.
How did all of this start?
A problem with these blog fights is that it is hard to tell what happened to set one person off.
Actually it’s hard to care…
@DS,
Who really cares, you guys are (( LOVERS)) of AS, that is fine but I find it hilarious that some of you can’t taker any criticism of AS, before you go bunkers, you take it this blog so seriously I think we can do much better, so I am a hater.haha This place cracks me up, this crap would just be PG on a blog in NY or Phili, I guess at the very least the lovers are very in touch with their Feminine side.
@Neal
You ever say “I love the Niners.”?
I have.
Well, I take love seriously. Love is not a joke. Maybe to you it is. Not my problem if you don’t get that.
And if you relate to the Philly/NY fans, and like their QB more, go be a fan of their team. You can boo Santa and be as big a jerk as you want to be because there will always be a jerkier Philly fan than you.
If you were trying to convey some kind of message, you really sucked worse than AS ever has in conveying it.
@DS,
Don’t start DS, you are a very sensitive human being, “I take love so seriously”. Oh my gosh. Really. I am a fan of the Niner’s and don’t need to prove it to you or the AS cult lovers. I go to 4 games a year, so I back it up with my wallet, it’s very pathetic that if you disagree with the AS cult , you are a hater. Drink the Kool Aid, Alex Lovers.
Neal
You don’t know, and you never will know anything about what I have been thru in my life.
Of course a pre-req to be a hater is to know things that you can’t actually know.
At least you correctly describe yourself. And I hope you take your online behavior into the real world. You will not be growing old with anybody.
“How did all of this start?”
See Prime’s Feb 1st 4:07 post
followed by your Feb 1st 4:31 post
@DS,
So now I hurt your feeling’s because I am not joining your AS cult fan club. Everybody has hardships, that is life I don’t need to share my hardships here on a sports blog but I guess you want people to feel sorry for you here so that they will stop insulting you, which I have still never did, also don’t worry about me growing old by myself, that was hilarious,I am very lucky, I have two lifetime best friends for over 30 years, yes we were childhood friends and still talk and see each other weekly and I have the best women in the world, which i would not trade for anyone. Your the one that appears to be lonely, with your zillion posts everyday, I guess this site is your social life and I guess your upset that I am in your hood.
Neal, shut up and give it a rest!
I agree with that FDM.
Maybe Neal lost his job or something and is expressing his anger here.
Don’t know, and I am caring less and less.
@FDM
+1
Neal, can you talk football? Every post from you today is attacking another blogger. Quit it already. Call up your 30 year friends and all your women instead.
@Prime “I love Alex Smith” Time
Your the Prez of the Alex Smith fan club, which means you have a man crush on AS.. I feel sorry for you, perhaps you have never seen a real QB play football. Are you a relative of AS, a friend, what type of work do you for his fan club? hahahah
@FDM,
“Neal, shut up and give it a rest” That was hilarious FDM, you really crack me up, and by the way I love to stir things up, and no I would not want PM on the Niner’s next year, it was just to stir the Alex lovers. Anyway I am shutting up because I am watching the Sharks. No I didnot lose my job, I am the second highest sales rep in my company, we have 20 reps. My life is very good and I hope I didnot give anybody a stroke or heart attack seeya
Please oh gracious one tell us how great you are but then have nothing positive or worthwhile to say. Guys like you talk a big game but are small on the inside. Im done with you, your a clown cause you openly admit that: “your a hater and just love to stir things up”. Its a football blog, not the place to stir it uop and see what reaction you cn get. Thanks for coming out rookie!
Per Espn, Adam Shefler and Chris Mortenson. Peyton manning has been medically cleared to resume his career. Let the conjecture begin! Niners, sign him!!!
From an ownership perspective, sign Payton and watch the PSL’s sell like hot cakes.
That would be a great football move, bad business decision and as we all know in the NFL, its all about business!
Bay,
That is possible. I know the Niners would instantly be the favorites to win the super bowl. Just think. A QB that definitely makes this team much better. I say, bring him in. Let him throw it around. If he looks like 80% Peyton Manning, give him 2 years at 33 million. 15mil and 18mil.
23J, your ego is writing cheques your body can’t cash!
FDM,
My ego does not want to sign Manning. My desire to win a super bowl does. Lol.
It all hinges on his health. If he’s cleared I say bring it. It’s a bold move. Our o-line is now in good shape. And with PM we now become the number one destination for FA WR’s…..
I would love to see PM in a Niner uniform if he can play, I don’t agree that PM will be able to sell PSL’s, because he will be long gone before the stadium is built.
All true points Bay but when you sign Manning you can forget about signing your role guys like Spillman, Costanzo, Goldson, Rodgers, Ginn, Snyder, maybe more.
You sacrifice many positions to fulfill one that won 13 games with no playmakers and has shown glimpses of potential greatness. To me Manning is a dream that causes a nightmare after 2 years. We finally have some depth at key positions, lets strengthen it further, sign a legit #1 WR and we are winning that division easily for the next 5 years.
23J, I just wanted to use that line from Top Gun. I want to win a superbowl too but its a big risk which has not been a 49er attribute. Whatever JH does, Im all in.
>>From an ownership perspective, sign Payton and watch the PSL’s sell like hot cakes.
Despite the fact that PM would be long gone before those silly fools snapping up PSLs would ever get their butts into a seat.
Very true ribico.
If things go according to plan, the stadium opens in time for the 2015 NFL regular season.
Anybody stupid enough to think PM (age 38) will still be on the Niners (or would be much longer after 2015) and puts up $60k to see an old run down QB on his last legs (see Favre 2nd season with Vikings) should probably not be responsible for having so much money in the first place.
doubt win division easily….a bradford led StL looks pretty good with a blackmon rcvr thrown in…..seattle is always tough and what if manning went to Az
niners have a lot of questions because they have 19 free agents so it may not be starting from scratch but if few key FA don’t resign then it will be more than just reloading and try again…..
The reason I say we win the division easily because we have the best coaching staff, a top 5 defense, and with the “trench positions” full of youth and talent, we are one or two playmakers away from a superbowl.. seriuosly , we get a Bowe and a stud young WR in the draft, we are 10-12 win team and built for another long playoff run.
@JGWindsor
On top of that, we play a super tough schedule next year (Patroits, Giants, Saints, Packers, Bears, Jets, etc). It won’t be easy to win the division, but we’ll certainly be favorites.
>>Let the conjecture begin!
He’ll never end up in SF. How do you like that for conjecture?
If Manning is truly healthy then it’s a no-brainer for the 49ers. A Hall of Fame QB vs. an average QB? Not even a question.
I really doubt Manning is fully healthy though.
Mac,
No, he is not fully healthy, but he is going to play. He will get where he needs to be so he can be effective. Arizona will get him if we don’t go after him I believe. They will overpay for him because they understand how important QB play is. He will win games for them. They threw a ton of money at Kolb. They definitely will go after Peyton.
Awesome! Jordan, I hope you are right for the first time on this board and AZ does go down that road. It would take years for them to dig their way out from that boneheaded, shortsighted decision.
@msc
“A Hall of Fame QB vs. an average QB?”
Replace the QB position with the RB position, and ask the same question again.
The Niners went ahead with your logic, and got OJ Simpson. A sure HOF player who was old and injured. How did that work out for the Niners then?
And your plan is to repeat that same cycle? Hoping for a different outcome?
Good luck with that.
I would *love* to see a sports franchise managed and run by fans. It’s longevity would be measured in negative figures.
Such a sport would run out of players instantaneously.
Once a player misses a play, off with his head. Get a new guy in there. He makes a mistake. Chop him up.
In a way the Gladiators of old Roman were kinda like that (sport determined by fans). The crowd had a say as to who lived and died at times. And, they often chose death for the combatant and cheered as the guy was impaled.
Think we are really much different now?
New stadium is gonna happen. Good bye great season ticket seats. Hello nose bleed season tix. They want 60, f n grand to Renew for the new stadium. I’m doing well but I ain’t rich. Wheeew. New stadium though. I can’t wait.
60k?
For 8 games?
How many seats/game?
2. Its fuggin nuts.
md, is that 60K a one time PSL?
From what I think my wife told me and from what Jed is saying it sounds like a 1 time thing, and it is refundable Im guessing.
Meadowlands PSLs sure weren’t refundable to those suckers. Good luck with that. Seriously.
we sign manning and its good bye every free agent we are trying to resign
harbaugh is to smart he knows it takes a team
give ck a little time to mature
@Neal, your a rookie so I will go slow. If I’m the president of the AS club then share prices are sky rocketing cause by March AS will have signed another long term deal with the 49ers. This means my club will have been right all along and your type will be jumping off the hate band wagon onto the real fan bandwagon, hence, junior, more shares available, more people buyin in! Comprenda chooch?
Prime, Neal is an instigator, hater, confrontational jackoff, but I think you just put junior in his place, nice work!
@FDM
When he first posted, he wasn’t like that.
Things change, but don’t always improve.
FDM,
Are you a wanna be? I am sure that PT will let you join the AS lover club. Maybe you can be his right hand man. I am sure you will rise to the occasion for this position. This place is hilarious, so many touchy feeley, you hurt my feelings. Feeling nothing more the Feelings haha
You sound like a clone for PT, all well, can’t think for yourself.
@PT,
You are the PRES of the AS fan club, and that fan club will never ever go public, so no stock will be available, it probably won’t even be worth penny stock, I do agree Mr Pres of the Alex Smith fan club that AS will be signed for a 3 year deal but I am very optimistic that he will be long gone before he completes that contract and he will be off to Stud, but nobody will want to buy his offspring because he was just one mediocre QB, Aaron Rodger’s now that is another story,
Neal, nice try but prime made his point, so stay down rookie!
There goes Prime Minister of AS lovers calling names and FDM sniffing his jock
sniffing jock = nickrow post a good 90% of the time.
Seriously, are you 7 years old? These posts about private parts are things that are said by an elementary school student.
Not a civil adult. Can you get off of it already?
Thank you oh mature but confused lady
Nickrow,
Make that an extremely confused man. It(DS) was a man, but 49ergirl made him jealous so it(DS) decided it(DS) decided to masquerade as a woman. It(DS) gets more attention from the Smithers that way.
@Jordan
I’m not sure if DS is a man, a woman, or a sheman. I really don’t care. But two things are for sure:
1. ‘It’ really likes drama and
2. ‘It’ sure has a fevorish devotion for Alex Smith.
@Neal, if you were here on this blog for a particular amount of time, you would know predictions are very immature, it’s weak to predict anything, but I guess based on your thinking, hoping for the worst is your style, good luck with wanting our QB to fail, that’s the 49er spirit son!
PT, He did fail 1 -13 for third downs and 4 and out in the 4th quarter, that is failing in the most important game of his life.
Yeah.
How many times did Aikman say “Gee. These Niner WR’s are wide open every play. AS just sucks.”
That is what I thought.
QB’s are only as good as the weapons they have. AS has 1 real receiver. VD. The whole country knew this, and AS still managed to throw him 2 TD’s. Maybe if the WR’s got open like VD did, a lot more, AS would throw them the damn ball.
Neal,
He failed miserably. Like I’m sure we all knew he would. Simply put, “we all know Smith is afraid to pull the trigger!” Scared to win Championships, scared to win a super bowl. Everything has to be just right for Smith. We need a real QB. One with some guts to make it happen every game.
If the Niners were going after Brees, the Smithers would hate it. They are not Niner fans. They are an Alex Smith cult!! They worship the guy and defend him at every level. The worst thing they will say about Smith is,” I know he’s not elite, but……”
DS,
DS,
You mean like Peyton man is to guys like Pierre Garçon , Dallas Clark, Austin Collie, all a bunch if no names. Manning makes receivers better. Smith make receivers puke.
So in order for Smith to ve effective, we need to get him 3 / 6’4″ wide receivers that all run 4.3 40′s like Vernon??? That way smith will feel safe??? Wake up Smither!
>>Scared to win Championships, scared to win a super bowl. Everything has to be just right for Smith. We need a real QB.
Never lead a comeback.
Never bring back the team in the 4th quarter.
Will always turn over the ball at the critical time.
Never lead the team a winning season.
Will be benched before mid-season.
“A QB away from the playoffs”
Never *EVER* win a shootout with Brees. (btw, did that win make your pocket $1000 lighter, “49er fan”?)
Never get to the championship.
Never get to the Superbowl (denied primarily due to ST breakdowns).
Will never be re-signed (btw, I estimate your last postings in a matter of weeks)
What other nuggets of insights do you want to enlighten us with, oh Nostradamus?
@ribico
Nostradamus is now believed had a disorder. Had he lived now, he would likely be in an psych ward for a good part of his life.
So, calling 23J Nostradamus is actually very accurate on your behalf. Whether you knew it or not. lol
DS, I’ve also called him the Harold Camping of sports prognistication. In truth, Jordan more closely matches him for accuracy.
@ribico
I don’t know.
Nostradamus had his loyal followers then and he does now. They believe anything that the guy said and will alter history, change facts about, etc. to make sure that his predictions come true. They dismiss anything that actually disproves his predictions as hearsay, and ignore all logical thought.
That to me is 23J and his little rugged band of haters in a nutshell.
@23 Jordan,
Along with having a couple of 7 foot receivers who run like a plane, we need them to be able to bend down real low, because AS throws the best worm burner passes in the NFL.
So now we know what teams you used to like Neal.
So the haters want a immobile QB over 35 coming back a serious injury to lead the team to the Super Bowl behin a line that gave up 44 sacks? Makes sense to me. Kinda like Romo leading the Plowboys to the playoffs.
Midwest,
Alex gave up at least 15-18 of those sacks himself. He held the ballbtoo long too often. He took sacks instead of throwing the ball away.
Peyton Manning has the quickest release in football. His offensive line has never been elite. That’s why they could never run the football. He got rid of the football so quickly, that he’s never taken a ton of sacks.
@Midwest, it might be better for you to keep quiet, anybody with NFL sense would take PM over AS ( who has never thrown a 300 yard game) Smith. I would if PM can play at a high level for a couple of yrs.
Nickrow the peanut gallery phoned, they want their CEO back!
Must have been all the games they lost. Otherwise you’d be more optimistic about the team. Sorry you missed the Vernon Post.
Against a solid defense with a mediocre secondary who the WRs disappeared against, especially Crabtree. Don’t change the facts to your liking Neal.
@midwest
Keep in mind that PM would be stuck with the same WR core as well. So, that puts an end to two little dreams there.
DS….. Manning “if healthy” would make our recieving corp very good. Manning is that good. And demands better play from his recievers. I would love for him to come here healthy, but I dont see it happening. Unless he IS healthy and is willing to take a big paycut. Whatever the 9ers do. Ill trust. This franchise finally has the solid front office we’ve been missing for 20 years.
I don’t see it like that md (PM part. I 100% agree on FO with TB/JH part).
And does MC seem like the kind of guy who responds well to a guy getting into his face yelling at him? PM has and will do that. Seems risky.
Maybe I’m a bit biased against the guy since a long lost relative of mine was PM HC in high school. And I always hear about it.
The only thing we need to concern ourselves with md is to get better in the playoffs. If I’m going to get a new QB, he MUST have a proven track record of being a consistent playoff winning QB. Look at PM’s career. How often did he win even 1 playoff game when the Colts made it?
Before the playoffs, the only possible FA QB I would even consider was DB. He is the only QB in the NFL who has the heart and toughness and escapability gone thru adversity, that may be greater than AS. I treasure those traits a great deal, as the playoffs are all about going thru adversity. And DB is the only guy who can do what he does in NO here in SF. I don’t see any other QB in the NFL who can do what they do with their team here in SF.
But AS beat DB, so I can’t just dismiss this. And AS won his first playoff game (PM lost his first 3). And AS lacks the great WR all great QB’s must have. That is why I say screw PM, and trade for LF. AS, or any other QB would want to come/stay here if they can throw it to LF. A different take from the common “We get PM, any WR will cime here deal” with the added incentive of no real injury worry, age problem, declining skills problems. And WR’s are always cheaper than QB’s.
Your entitled to your opinion ds…… But if Manning was fully healthy this offense wouldnt be ranked 28th in passing, Manning has never had a complete team like the 11 49ers. The core is here. And Smith is going to have to improve on the downfield plays. We also need a WR that can actually catch when open downfield… “I like Jackson from SD” but if Smith wont throw deep there is no point. If Smith stays and starts Harbaugh and he have to work on stretching the field. He DID have guys open downfield all year that he never looked at. Maybe Harbaugh wanted it that way being a new system and all, but that is a problem that needs to be addressed. Im sure JH knows this. Back to Manning…..the guy is a pure QB machine. With him I truly believe and a lot of others do to…Its Superbowl bound and winning it. Look at how bad Indy was without him. They had the same core of guys and PM has had 1 coach that is on JH level. Mr Dungy. As far as age, we only need a qb for 2 maaaybe 3 more years for the two young guns were polishing up. Bottom line is a healthy Manning is a sure fire upgrade for this team. But it would be to good to be true, to many loopholes and things that would have to happen. I cant see it happening. Like I said whoever we roll with I fully trust JH and staff.
If they dont get an elite QB they must
1 retain CR and DG
2 Get an elite WR
3 Keep ginn and his stone hands on ST ONLY
4 Resign DW
Gotta keep AS and these guys or if CK or ST beat him out’ together for another year and get that number 6.
@md
The Niners will be better passing the ball next year by default. If nothing is changed/added/subtracted the Niners will still be better. For no other reason than they will have had more reps and practice time together. Which is so very critical for the passing game to come together for any offensive system. With the expected addition of new WR’s (hopefully they produce more), I expect the passing game to be in ranked (yards wise) in the high teens. If AS continues to play smart and safe football and not throw the stupid Int, then that would be a dramatic improvement on our team. If VD plays like he did in the playoffs all next season (notice not 1 drop in the playoffs) , that alone will be a great addition.
I am not that excited by PM. Remember the last time we played the Colts? The Niners were able to frustrate PM and it really showed. PM lost his cool, and nearly the game to a Niner team who were not allowed to change the play at the LOS and the players knew the called play would not work.
Last year (2010) PM and the Colts really started looking bad. They lost like 4 games in a row, and the defenses were getting into PM’s head. PM was getting happy feet. I saw something that I see in guys who have lost “it” in PM. PM flinched throwing the ball. He was anticipating a hit that never came and closed his eyes to throw the ball in the redzone. The ball fell incomplete and the Colts had to settle for a FG. The announcers noticed it as well.
For all the times AS has not played well, I have never watched (and I’ve looked for it too) him flinch, closing his eyes while throwing a ball while having no defender around him.
PM was scared. And our OL certainly does not look strong all game all season long. PM will have to take those hits. AS keeps his cool. PM loses his far too often and easily. And when a QB loses his cool, he makes bad decisions. Which lead to TO’s, which is the reason why we were so good this past regular season, and NO game, and why we lost the Giants game. TO’s. If PM gets frustrated, he will lose his cool and he will turn the ball over. The recipe to success this past season will have to be scrapped. And that is a very dangerous/hasty thing to do for such a young talented team as ours to risk.
I like your list of FA’s to sign. Though I would not be shocked to see them let DW go. And CJ Spillman was a vital piece to the best Special Teams unit in the NFL. Gotta get him. And I’m sure we will.
DS,
You must really be an alien. Cuz you’ve not seen Alex Smiths whole career if you’ve never seen him flinch. He was and has been the deer in tge headlights! What are you talking about. You sound like a fool trying to degrade the best QB in the league before the neck surgeries.
You sit here and talk about Peyton like he is a bum. You got him mixed up with Smith. Smith is the guy you describe. PM is better than Smith for this team right now!! Bet on that. We may not get him, but he would certainly take us to the Super Bowl.
“Last year (2010) PM and the Colts really started looking bad.”
That is the PM you are likely going to get. Not the one who won 1 Super Bowl in what 11 (?) playoff appearances.
DS, you are being too lenient. That’s 11 *years* of playoffs – appearances in *19* actual games.
That gives him about a 5 percent ultimate success rate in the playoffs. And this is the guy people here are vowing a “lock” to lead us to the trophy?
ribico
I had already gone over PM’s playoff record a lot. PM losing his first 3, AS winning his first type stuff.
But, you’re right.
PM has been great in the regular season. Until his last fully healthy year. Only the collapse of the Texans let them win the division that year.
Then he injures his neck and needs several surgeries.
Then he misses all of 2012 season.
And, we want to get this guy who is going to play? How long till he gets up to speed? Everybody keeps saying we have a tougher schedule (I don’t think we do, but that is for another time), and we want a guy who did not play at all last year, and played lousy in 2010 to come here and lead us?
Nahhh. Only guy I would have taken was DB. But, AS beat him fair and square. So, I’ll go with the guy who got us here.
Jordan,
DS sticks up for Alex because Alex reminds him of himself. A little nerdy underdog getting picked on by the cool group.
It’s like a form of therapy for DS to stand up against the ones that he perceives as attackers against Alex.
DS no one is attacking. We just want to upgrade the weak positions on our football team.
Bay,
What’s funny is how DS tries to teal down a hall of gamer to make Smith look credible. It is amazing. I will never understand that. All of a sudden, PM is a tomato can. Like I said, I hope he doesn’t sign in our division. The cards beat us with Skelton. People think we are just going to automatically win our division the next 5 years. Those teams are going to get better, we need some drastically improved play from smith or an upgrade. Next year is not going to go like this year.
We got every break the entire season. All the wY up until the breaks went the other way. We caught every interception last year except the 2 in the giant game. I guarantee you that our opponents dropped 8 picks from Alex. We get no turnovers in the championship game.
Next year is not gonna be the same. If Smith looks tge same next year as he did this year, it will be a fight to win our division. Simply because our division is no longer the worst in the NFC.
DS, did you see how well all-pro Reggie Wayne and pro-bowl Pierre Garcon performed this year? With a mediocre QB they looked a lot like Michael Crabtree.
I think Manning could make the 49ers receivers look good if he is healthy. All-Pro quarterbacks tend to make their receivers look better. Average QBs don’t.
@msc
Remember Issac Bruce when he was here msc?
His first year, he was pretty freaking good.
Then in his 2nd season, the ageless one, suddenly couldn’t get open, or catch the ball anymore.
That all happened going from one year to the next. A significant loss of production.
As players age, they reach that point where they just can’t do it anymore. The age may be different from one player to the next, but it happens to them all. 100% guarantee.
Besides, the Niners are going young. Why go get a bunch of old guys who probably won’t produce for you, and even if they do, only for a year or two? Go after somebody younger (draft/FA) and coach up the young guys we already have.
And no. I did not see the Colts a lot. I don’t know their team all that well. What I do know is that team had more than 1 Pro bowl player (PM) and played like they didn’t know how to play pro ball. Warning label on all Indy players because of that. No leadership from that team. If I’m wrong, who filled that leadership void msc?
I don’t know how to really judge those stats either. The Colts were behind a lot, so they have to throw more. Plus, who is their RB? So, if you are behind a lot, and your best offensive players are WR’s, their numbers will be inflated compared to them being on a team that runs the ball a lot more (like the Niners). You will throw more when behind by a lot, and they were behind by a lot in a bunch of games this year.
And was PM a great QB in his 1st year? No he sucked big time. The Colts got him more talent, andt then he got better. Just like any other great QB. No different. If by chance the Niners got LF, you don’t think he would help AS out at all?
“Remember Issac Bruce when he was here msc?
His first year, he was pretty freaking good.”
In Isaac’s first year in SF Shaun Hill was the quarterback.
In his 2nd year in SF Alex Smith took over.
I rest my case.
You may need some memory pills msc
Hill started the season (IB second season). The two did not hit it off like they had the previous year. Issac Bruce dropped passes and didn’t get open with Hill in the game.
So, the Niners got AS back in. And AS threw 3TD’s to VD in Houston, and got VD to the Pro Bowl throwing some great seam route passes.
So, you forgot that Hill did start that season. For 4-5 games I think. Bruce was not any good in those 4-5 games before AS came in.
It happens to everybody. Even PM. Better not hope PM is on your team when it does.
Grant, we need a new blog topic that ultimately gets morphed into a mud slinging contest between pro and anti Alex camps.
On a side note while it’s on my mind, where would be a good place to stay or decent areas in New York or New Jersey next season when the Niners play the Jets? My wife and some friends(who are Jets fans) are looking to make the trip depending on when in the season the game falls.
That’s what I mean DS. Manning to Crabtree is equal to at least 5 interceptions.
1. If Manning is healthy it is not a sure thing the Colts cut him. It would be a PR nightmare if he leds a team to the Superbowl.
2. Can the Niners pay him, sign their own free agents and stay under the cap? If not I think it is a very iffy deal.
3. If they can keep the team intact and Manning is healthy and can throw as he has, then I say go for it. We will still need a least one up grade at WR but we would be the odds on favorite to make it to the Super bowl.
4. I wonder how Alex would react? Would he move on, or would he see this as a chance to learn from one of the best QB’s to ever play the game? My bet is he would move on.
5. Would Harbaugh be flexible enough to change the offensive system to match Payton’s strengths and how would these changes effect the offense. Would it be some changes or a wholesale change to the offense, which I don’t think he would do. One of the biggest problems we have had is the constant changes with the offense. I think we need stability more than we need Manning.
6. Will PM be able to really play in a new system very well? Sure he can memorize the playbook fine. But I seriously doubt he can train his muscles and body to change to do the things JH’s offense requires.
Look at CP. The Raiders as an offense were a lot better with the other guy. CP came in and he has a different way of doing everything. The offensive players could not really adapt so quickly. And it seemed to get worse as the year wore on, not better.
The only time such a move worked was JM in KC. But that was before the salary cap. Had the cap been around, KC would not have been able to get all the other players to get JM to play well. JM was not the only new player KC brought in that year.
DS,
You really don’t get it. You sound like a true Peyton hater. At least you admitted it. PM is the smartest QB in the NFL period!! He can learn and excel in any system. It’s what hall of famers do. I just hope he’s not in this division. Seattle and Arizona are interested.
42,
Every big salaried player on this team would restructure their contract to get Peyton Manning on this team. Bet on that. He could thrive in any system. JH just babysat Smith in this system this year. You reall think Peyton couldn’t run it. He could run it with half his brain. The man dissects defenses. Always has.
>Every big salaried player on this team would restructure their contract to get Peyton Manning on this team.
Lol.
“Every big salaried player on this team would restructure their contract to get Peyton Manning on this team. ”
Not.
“Every big salaried player on this team would restructure their contract to get Peyton Manning on this team. Bet on that”
Here we go with people making predictions based on no informal knowledge that any 49er player would actually do this.
Do you really know if a player or players on the 49ers roster would do such a thing or are you basing it on your opinion? If its the ladder, Cmon 23, dont make stuff up just to prove your point.
The sooner you come to the conclusion that AS will be back long term with the 49ers, the sooner you can start therapy!
@FDM
It is called “Nostradamus Syndrome”
Actually, it’s called projection.
“a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others originate those feelings.”
@ribico
But your definition does not include being a first rate jerk and treating others like trash. Which 23J frequently does.
42,
It would be Harbaughs offense and PM would give input. See PM is Harbaughs equal while Alex is still learning the position in year 8.
The good news is everyone wins. AS and CK get to sit behind a championship QB and truly learn for the first time in their careers. It will make them better and the team stronger.
Bay,
It would be nice but it won’t happen. Harbaugh wants to continue to try and mold Smith into something he is not, an elite QB. All the wide receivers in the world couldn’t make this dude elite. I asked Matt M. On a live blog yesterday If the Niners would consider bringing in Josh Johnson to challenge Smith for the job. He thought the Niners would consider a short term cheap deal. JJ would seriously consider it, based on his play in JH system. It’s been favorable to any QB he’s coached. Just goes to show you how good JH really is.
I just want to see Smith pushed to be more aggressive. Not give up on plays so quickly. We’ll see what happens.
Hypothetical scenario, the 49ers go 4 wide with Crabtree and Vernon on the inside, flanked wide with Bowe/Manningham and Morgan. How does Smith not get better in this situation?
As any psychoanalyst will tell you, projection can accompany many other pathologies.
A healthy PM would be great only if he signs an incentive ladened deal. He’s a HUGE upgrade at the position. We do need WR’s though. If he signs , maybe Wayne will come cheap too. Plus Bowe…. And a draft pick…. I like it.
49er42
A healthy PM would be huge!!!!!
Accurate passing, 30+ TDs. Now if it’s at a discount. He needs to know we are only a qb away from the promised land.
Big Niner,
Peyton knows it. We all know it. We just saw it in the championship game. Does Peyton beAt the giants for us in that game?? You damned right he does. Even with the fumbles, we win by at least 7.
The only ones that don’t know it are the ones that care more for #11 than they do for 49ers.
The only thing certain in all this is that the drama almost always follows ONE person. Ok, you have one guess. Look no further then the person who dominates this blog 24-7. Time for an ‘intervention’ bud.
AES,
+1000. Hahaha!
FDM, it appears that you are drinking the kool aid, are you for freaking real, that nobody cares what side I am on, then why all of the attacks on me because I am attacking your boy. Gawd someone of you are clones or zombies, the Kool aid has made your brain the size of a peanut.
Yes…except I wouldn’t say “dominates” the blog…more like “lingers” or “skulks”.
@49er girl,
Read earlier on your response how did this all happen, their are a few people that are on here that are upset with me because I am new and they wanted me to join them on their welcome wagon and being part of the AS fan club, sorry I am not joining and also they think that they own this blog and I am not allowed in their hood. Then they started with the name calling. They take this place so seriously and I am just laughing at their responses. I feel sorry for them, they are just pathetic.
Dont flatter yourself Neal and Bob, no one cares what side your on or what hood your in, this isnt a gangster movie rookie.
You start throwing out comments like ” im a hater and I just try to stir it up, guess what junior, you’ll get treated like a kid, which you probably are and need some supervision. Ever since you been on here you have been a sh$t disturber, you thinks thats cool, yeah you do cause your probably 14 years old looking to “stir it up in the hood”-beat it!
I see what you mean, Neal :-)
@FDM
“…this isnt a gangster movie rookie.”
That might be news to some here FDM.
@bigniner no young player comes cheap in football salaries are’nt guarnteed and its can be a very short career. they have to make it while they can its a small window
Based on the MO of JH, TB, and JY, all of this PM pipe dreaming is just that.
Jordan, states, “It would be nice but it won’t happen.” Finally we agree on something.
Only thing that is validated and has been stated by all of the beat writers and national press is that the 9ers weakest position needs addressing – WR’s. Now you can bank on that!
49er girl, always insightful with your late retaliatory comments, still can’t think for yourself can you? Never have, probably never will!
@Prime
Notice that AES so far only has the haters replying in the affirmative.
Might want to take note of that Mr. Politician. Always leaning one way then the next. Also, bay and 23J are on here an awful lot. That post might be aimed at them. So, what does that mean?
He was talking about you – it was obvious to everyone else. Why bother playing dumb?
DS, is it not strange that a new comer comes on the blog and instantly finds the veteran haters and they bond like war heroes?
Is there really that much pleasure in hating Alex Smith and seeing us defend him, wow, some people need a hobby and it aint blogging!
@FDM
Like I have said for awhile now, AS is not the thing they hate/dislike/etc. It is something else in their lives.
Why on earth would anybody make it such a priority to go after somebody who likes a person who has never harmed them? Or, more to this scenario, lead the team to the NFC title game.
Had we signed Kolb or McNabb, and they got us to the playoffs, and lost their first game, I can assure you, all these haters would be ecstatic about the future of our QB and our team.
But because it is AS, they just hate.
“Is there really that much pleasure in hating Alex Smith and seeing us defend him, wow, some people need a hobby and it aint blogging!”
It appear so. And, I think these people should be banned from the internet until the realize how stupid they sound. If they behave like this in real life, they are just sucky people. If they don’t behave like this in real life, change your online behavior to reflect your real life behavior. Hating ain’t cool in either.
49ergirl,
DS is not playing dumb. Just read some of its posts. Especially this thread on Peyton Manning. DS is dumb, extremely football dumb. Sleeps on this blog both day and night. This is it’s life. It’s so jealous of you it’s pathetic. A man that wants to be a woman that is jealous of another woman. So sad, so dumb!!!
If I really couldn’t think for myself I’d be hooked up to life support and unable to use a keyboard.
Nice try, though.
I actually think their are real clones and zombies on here or maybe that have multiple profiles, no need to defend yourself 49er girl, their the delusional one’s
Based on your comments and history of commentary, your not far off from that situation.
FDM, are you that pathetic and stalker like that you have to comment on every response I make. Do you get out that often, or is this place your social life/
“FDM, are you that pathetic and stalker like that you have to comment on every response I make. Do you get out that often, or is this place your social life/”
As of 1:55 2/13/12
I count 28 posts by Neal
15 posts by FDM on this blog topic.
And Neal has not chosen to stop replying to FDM either. Hint: Stop replying, and eventually FDM or anybody else will stop replying to you. It works both ways.
Sure you wanted to bring that up Neal?
The fact that you count posts proves you have nothing better to do with your life. Seriously.
@BigP
Yeah.
It took a whole 2 minutes at most.
Like you do in bed I imagine.
Well your wannabe man butt can keep imagining because you will never know. It’s flat out creepy to know that you spend any amount of time imagining what I do in bed. Like I said, I’m happily married with two beautiful children. You sit in a room by yourself all day posting while life passes you by. Probably because you don’t have anybody in your life, and if you do they are obviously getting their attention from someone else. Ask somebody for a hug already!
Good Morning Alex Smith ((Lovers)) where ever you are. This blog has become the unofficial Alex Smith cult Fan Club, at noon we will be passing the Kool Aid and we will have the Prez of the Alex Smith Fan Cult club to talk about the meany people on here that don’t think much of AS. At 3:00 we will have a rally at Mike Nolan home, why he choose and made the right call in choosing Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers. Then a break and after that we will be watching Jim Jones and David Koresh speeches.
Snoooozzzzeeee.
DS, Talking about snooze, do you sleep on this site as well, your like a relative that nobody can stand, and your invited to a relative house for the weekend and you stay for over a year, people feel sorry for you. Your like a lingering fart that won’t go away. Does D in DS stand for drama, because you are the King,Prince , Princess or Queen of this site.
always figured it was deep space 9 but couldn’t really figure out the Xev part …. thought it was something to do with electron volts but it didn’t make sense ….
@jg
I have posted several times for people to look up Xev on an internet search engine.
If you are a man, you will like it.
If you are a woman, you will still like it.
If you like Angelina Jolie, you will like it.
@DS
Well, I searched for Xev and this came up …

@EcoEnrico
Cute.
Look a little more.
If you have netflix, you can watch it instantaneously.
And, if you are not afraid of some skin, episode 4.03 is for you. Titled P4X
If you like musicals, Season 2′s Brigadoom will wow you.
And if you like the TV show Survivor, Xevivor in Season 4 will take you for a fun ride.
Like chess, check out Season 4′s “The Game”.
In all cases, be sure the kids are asleep. And be prepared for weird.
That’s hilarious Eco … It sums it up quite nicely. Like the saying goes ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’
I happen to agree with the anti-P.Manning takes. Although I don’t see the Org making a pitch for PM, hypothetically speaking, even a healthy PM at 36 does not guarantee a SB. And after this years success the bar has been raised to aim at a Superbowl appearence and nothing less.
The other ‘take’ is that perhaps many players on the team would be willing to restructure their contracts to accomodate Payton. I don’t see that as a viable option because Free Agency has virtually stripped every team of ‘team loyalty’ in todays NFL. I remember Joe Montana and other team members back in the late 80′ and other players in the early 90′ taking pay cuts to bring in a Fred Dean, Ken Norton Jr, or Dion Sanders because they had developed a winning tradition that attracted those players.
Sadly, in todays NFL, many players will go where the ‘money’ is, rather than where a team finishes in the rankings. That’s all the evidence I need that players won’t take pay cuts in order to bring in a Payton Manning.
Alex has earned the right to start in 2012, PERIOD! And if his college coach (Urban Meyer) was correct about Alex needing time to flourish in a consistent system, then we are going to see better things from Alex.
At this point, it’s Alex’ job to lose. I hate myself for saying this; But Alex needs another year in Harbaugh’ system before we make a judgement on him.
Interesting quote from Jed yesterday, that they want AS back but it has to be at the right terms, since AS was over payed for the last 6 years, he would probably needs to be more reasonable, he won’t get a starting job anywhere else but yes he will probably be here for one more year, until JH can groom someone else.
-2
Alex overpaid? Like last offseason when he organized Camp Alex, taught teammates the rudiments of JH’s system, found housing for said teammates while attending the “camp”, paid airfare for, even loaned out his wife’s car to rookies… all while UNSIGNED and NOT EVEN ON THE #%%&##% PAYROLL?
Then led to the team to a 14 win season.
And you advocate stiffing the guy in contract negotiations? Un-fing-beleivable.
Yeah, that fan managed franchise would would be doing just great right about now.
@Neal
“…since AS was over payed for the last 6 years, he would probably needs to be more reasonable, …”
Collins started the year off for Indy. He made $4 million. How long did he last? How much better was AS (made $5 million) than Collins (won 0 games)?
Kolb lost all but two games. Then he was injured for a bunch more. Coincidentally, the Cards won a bunch of those games. How much better was Kolb over AS?
Seriously. If you are going to post BS, go out of your way to make it factual or at the least entertaining. If you want to lie, make it a fantastic lie. This is sad.
I like the thought of PM in a Niner uniform, but in reality I don’t see it happening. The money he would demand is going to be too high for the Niners to take the idea seriously.
Of course, if he did come here by some miracle, other free agents would be lining up to come play in SF.
A team a FG away from the SB? Free agents are going to be beating down the door, PM or not.
49ergirl,
12 mil offer with incentives for manning. Niners had 16 million under tge cap last year. So it’s at least 30-35 million this year. You don’t think Vernon, Patrick, staley would restructure to solidify a chance at a ring. Yes they would. Those are leaders that want a super bowl. Smith can’t get us there. Will forget who is teammates are again come playoff time. We will hear it again, nobody was open all game!! Hahaha
Neal, don’t let the Smithers get to you. They call steve young a liar and a bum if he said anything negative about Smith. It is a Smithers cult, not 49er fans!!
@23 Jordan,
No the Smithers won’t get to me, you don’t need to be Dr. Phil that they are heavily medicated for depression and dementia.
agreed….have said this as well….AS needs to make this offense his own…
Neal, have an extra ‘marshmellows’ the fire is burning strong (lol)!
yes AES, all of these AS Lovers want’s us to all join them around the camp fire and sing Kumaya while we eat the poison marshmallows.
Funny thing is all the Smithers are just siding w/ JH. The Smithers treasure the opinions of JH more than anyone else’s. Why shouldn’t we trust JH and give both him and AS a chance? Some people have no response when JH’s name comes up regarding to AS.
@AlbertS,
JH is a very smart man and a motivator, and he is just pulling AS chain. I don’t think for a second that he wants AS to be the QB for the next 5 years.
@Neal
It might very well be true but hardly a solid reason to doubt JH in the near future. JH will be loyal to Jed to make the right choice for the team.
What is really ‘strange’ is that when someone ‘new’ comes on here, they are welcomed with open arms by (mr/ms. passive/aggresive) until they have a critique about Alex. Then suddenly, the welcome mat is gone only to be replaced by the ‘hate’ label.
C’mon, get real FDM, you’re better then that! If you don’t see which blogger causes all the ‘drama’ around here, it’s on you bud.
But I do agree with Neal that this has evolved into the Alex Fan Club blog this season. Example; earlier this season when I gave Alex an A- grade, the apologist were up in arms. When I said Alex had the goods to deliver a SB, I was still called a ‘hater’ (now that’s ‘strange’ don’t you agree FDM?). I’ve repeatively said that Alex has earned the right to start next year, and you guessed it; i’m a ‘flip-flop’ and ‘hater’ (haha). Yet, i’ve never stated that ‘I hate Alex,’ but the ‘crew’ you choose to espouse continues to label anyone who even has the slightest critique of Alex.
I suggest you and your brood begin an All-Alex blog, where every day is sunny and bright, where the deer and the buffalo play, and the rainbow never ends!
Yeah right.
I see as many pro posts as con posts.
I can switch words(adjectives, names) from your post to their opposite meanings and the article can still be valid.
Thanks AES,
Not that I can’t fight my battles on here but for god sake, I don’t hate AS, I just think we can do better, and as you said the slightest criticism on here I became a hater. I don’t hate any sports figure, AS is a great guy but not so great on the football field. I hate Hitler, I hate men who abuse and kill women. For some of these people on here I feel sorry for them, they are probably on here all day long, take things so seriously and don’t have a social life recent studies have shown if you are on the internet all day and use Facebook all day, it is not good for your health, and are probably depressed. Time for them to take their meds or get some fresh air.
>>Neal that this has evolved into the Alex Fan Club blog this season.
So you’ve missed the postings of J23, bay, MD, 49erGirl, BigP… all year? And the entire columns given to “expert opinions” of Cosell?
Even if what you say is true, what fan isn’t going to like a team, and it’s QB, that won more games just one other team this season. A team that was a FG away from the SB? What fan isn’t going to be a mamber of that Fan Club? Oh, wait….
@ribico
BigP and 49erGirl anyway say that they are just neutral.
Funny, they claim I post more than anybody, and yet they never say “nice post.” Good thought to anything I write. And I am pro AS.
So, if they considered themselves neutral, wouldn’t they find something that the pro AS fan wrote that they like? I mean other pro-AS fans like it sometimes. Why don’t they?
But, they never miss a single opportunity to insult/make fun of the pro AS fan at all. Nope, they never miss those posts. But they always miss the posts where the haters are hating other people on the blog as well as AS.
Because they are not neutral. They just pretend to be.
@ribico
You keep repeating that Alex won 14 games. Come on dude, that’s a lie. Defense and special teams won the majority of those games for us. Alex had a pedestrian year and was asked NOT to make bone headed mistakes. He followed instructions very well, but to say he WON 14 games is far from the truth.
ribico,
I have no problem expousing the TEAM. But please answer this question; Why haven’t our four Defensive players who finished in the top 10 in defensive catagories this season not received the same blog space as one offensive player who finished just inside the top 20?
Never hated on Alex, you can go all the way back to the M.Maiocco days. I only have issues with those who continually place all this season’ success on Alex’ lap and fail to mention a word that you did; TEAM!
“Why haven’t our four Defensive players who finished in the top 10 in defensive catagories this season not received the same blog space as one offensive player who finished just inside the top 20? ”
Write about them then.
Blog goes the direction the bloggers write.
DS,
You are welcome to go back and find all of the negative things I have said about Alex, please try. You have been called out for your BS so many times it’s pathetic. You contradict yourself, and when called out on it you claim others are stalkers. Stop playing the victim, that is your crutch. Everybody knows it. You repeatedly bash 49ergirl out of jealousy, it’s sad. It must make you furious as to why “that other girl” gets all the attention. I bet that is the story of your life. Why else would somebody pretend they are a man?
@BigP
I could care less about 49erGirl. I didn’t miss her a bit.
And, for your own ego sake, I will let you keep on thinking that you are right. I know. The earth is flat. The earth is the center of the Universe. You know more than JH.
It’s a blog. I’ll let you think what you must to keep on going.
But, gosh, you are so wrong on so many things.
Definition of jealous:
jealous resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc., or against another’s success or advantage itself.
I don’t care about any of that stuff. 49erGirl is not a rival. She is an airhead who has a dire need to relive her high school days and get all the attention she once received. In the adult world, people don’t need the approval of others who are not close family/friends to feel good about themselves. 49erGirl has not entered into that phase of her life. No matter what her age.
Why point out your gender with your name? Because you are a desperate lonely lady needing attention. Where is 49erMan?
49erGirl is the one who keeps track of every little thing I say and writes them all down. That to me, means she is jealous of me. I don’t bother even reading her dribble. Much less remembering it or searching for it. Do you know how one could define somebody who does do that as being?
Jealous.
And who does that? 49erGirl. Not me.
I’ll say it again, you are welcome to go back and find all of the negative things I have said about Alex, please try. As far as 49ergirl, I think the fact that you dedicated another article to her shows that you have issues with her. Your the woman that tries to cloud the issue of her own sexuality, not 49ergirl. I think it’s cool that she says she’s a girl, I think it might inspire more women to join the blog and feel welcome. There is nothing negative about that, regardless of your opinion.
Then there is the whole genders are equal thing, so it does not matter who said what. Only the merit of what they bring should be looked into and analyzed.
But, you have your view.
And, I don’t know what article you are talking about. You brought her up in your post above (8:50). If you had not brought her up, I would not. I don’t think about her like you do. Seems to me, you might be a little jealous of her. Maybe have a schoolboy crush on the gal? Huhhh?
Look at her posts and all the times she goes back in search of what I wrote.
I don’t do that for her. I don’t care too. If I were jealous of her, I would. I don’t. So, I’m not.
I’ll say it again, you are welcome to go back and find all of the negative things I have said about Alex, please try. You keep dwelling on 49ergirl, you need to move on. It’s borderline creepy.
You brought up 49erGirl. You don’t remember do you? I even gave you the time of the post where you brought her up.
I’ll give you a break though. All those head shots you took are taking their toll on you now.
And, if I am creepy, it is best that you not deal with me.
I’ll say it again, you are welcome to go back and find all of the negative things I have said about Alex, please try. You can’t, so you try and spin the conversation to something else.
I don’t keep a journal of everything BigP says.
That is your territory.
I do know that you never agree with anything I say. And I support AS.
If you want me, and everybody else to stop calling you a hater, you need to prove it by supporting posts that support AS.
It’s that simple.
Just do it.
Why don’t you start by readig the article Albert S. has of comeback player of the year.
You remember. I said AS should be. You jumped in and gave me all this stuff about Stafford should be. You know. The regular. I support AS, you didn’t and had to express that to me.
So, here is a good chance for you. Rich Gannon (who also knows more football than you by the way) had 1 out of 50 votes, and voted for AS, and thinks he just might win.
How about a nice post about how great AS was this year after all his hard time here. Can you do it? If you do, I may reconsider calling you a hater. I do that kind of thing. Adults and parents have to as well. Think about what they did/thought and wonder if they were really right, or do they need to fess up?
I’ll say it again, you are welcome to go back and find all of the negative things I have said about Alex, please try. You can’t, so you try and spin the conversation to something else. Still waiting……
Neal,
And where you have no chance to win a super bowl. Hahaha!
@23 Jordan,
No chance unless our defense can score 30.
Well, I guess you could call it, ‘free opinionating’ which is what this blog was created for. I certainly don’t have ‘issues’ with the labels being attatched next to my name. I have applied a few labels of my own; Alex apologist, Alex diefiers, Alex shriners, just to name a few. No problem. A good ribing and good natured bantering is cool.
But people who come on here for the sole purpose of starting ‘drama’ because they possibly have a lonely and bored existence is not cool.
Take a close look at this very ‘topic thread’ posted by Grant. Grant was giving us an inside glimps of his favorite top 5 49ers. Can you tell me who was the first person to go off-subject and begin with the ‘haters’ comment?
I dare you!
ok that was easy, funny he or she makes these ridiculous comments, if you hate AS he knows what party you belong. No DS, I guess I am a hater in your terms, I am not a Republican or never will be.
>>Can you tell me who was the first person to go off-subject and begin with the ‘haters’ comment? I dare you!
drsgrosse
drsgrosse <– not with the haters comment, but the first to post the off-topic QB ratings.
Yet which of Grant's columns *never* generate off-topic postings?
@ribico
My reply actually ended up talking a lot more about QB and stats and how I feel they don’t really help you a lot. And there was no hating of anybody in it.
Well DS, you did say “haters” in your post. And you know how touchy those guys can be.
True ribico I did.
Reminds me of the time when 23J was crying that you called him names. Without ever pointing out what name you called him.
Consistent with the hater view. “Just hate.”
Nike may not have sold so many shoes if that were their slogan. So we can take advertising exec out of the mix of possible jobs for 23J.
@AES I find this blog to be enlightening. So far this year I have found out that Alex Smith is a better QB than:
Eli Manning
Aaron Rodgers
Tony Romo
Philip Rivers
Joe Montana
Steve Young
Tom Brady
Ben Rothlisberger
and just yesterday I found out Alex is better than Peyton Manning too!
Thank goodness I read this blog instead of believing my eyes or silly things like facts.
Amen, the lovers think AS, who never thrown for 300 yards is the best QB in history, the truth is he is not even in the top 15 in the NFL.
Well said
MS,
Good stuff.
So true.
But he only threw 5 interceptions. He takes care of the ball. Even takes it home with him after games. Bwahahahaha!
Yep, smith protects the ball so well, he won’t even let most of his teammates touch it on offense!
Dear AES:
I also find this blog to be enlightening.
I learned that “team concept” can be selectively applied.
Joe won 4 SBs… No one complains or disputes it.
AS won 14 games…He didn’t win them, the D did.
I am also thankful for this blog.
Albert, Only on this blog can you compare a QB who won 14 games to one who won 4 SUPER BOWLS. Even if it is conceded that he had an OK year, can you and the other Smithers please stop trying to turn this guy into anything remotely comparable to Montana and Young.
He isn’t even in the same country with those guys yet.
Who’s comparing AS with Joe?
The notion of “team concept” is what I stress.
You just did a few minutes ago.
AlbertS says:

Dear AES:

@Ja Ham
If you can’t figure it out. It’s too deep for you. Move on.
Thank you Prince Albert. Now you can go back to your can and stay there for a while please.
Ah yes, the Team Concept. In 2006 Rex Grossman led the Bears to 16 wins and a Super Bowl appearance. According to “team concept” Grossman is a better QB than Smith.
Of course, conventional wisdom suggests that a great defense and special teams carried Rex to the SB. But if you want to insist on a “team concept” then I’m game. I’m fully willing to admit that Smith is comparable to Grossman.
@msc
“According to “team concept” Grossman is a better QB than Smith.”
Why “team concept” = QB comparison?
Grossman contributed enough in their 2006 season to help their team win. He was a contributor.
Anyway. 2011 stats show AS > RG.
“Anyway. 2011 stats show AS > RG.”
Oh. NOW a Smither likes stats. Your kind usually hates stats when they point out that Smith is in the bottom third of all starting QBs.
Grossman won more games than Smith. By Smither logic Rex > Alex. Rex contributed MORE to the 2006 Bears than Alex contributed to the 2011 49ers.
Or, both QBs were carried by superior defenses. I’m going with the latter.
@msc
“both QBs were carried by superior defenses.’
And I add..
“both QBs contributed to their teams’ success.”
Both statements can be equally true. Dispute this.
“Grossman won more games than Smith. By Smither logic Rex > Alex. Rex contributed MORE to the 2006 Bears than Alex contributed to the 2011 49ers.”
This is your logic. No one is comparing QBs.
You and Ja Ham should get together.
Anyway, you will have the last word, if you’re still up.
Good practice for a debate class.
@AlbertS
“Good practice for a debate class.”
No. A real debate uses facts. Ignoring all those comeback wins, while saying RG is better than AS is foolish.
@DS9
Of course “practice” is just relatively speaking. Soft tosses. Easy to shoot down.
Tired of this blog? Same topic every day? Still depressed over the loss to the Giants? Check this out http://www.ninersnation.com/2012/2/1/2762268/down-and-out-where-ive-been-and-maybe-youve-been-here-too?login=1328306306
How does that help at all openminded?
And I hope the writer meant “drag down the mountain.” Not “drug down the mountain.
DS: The back and forth bickering on this blog has driven me to find other blogs and forums. I’m just sharing the link with folks who are tired of the personal jabs flying around here for the last two weeks (or is that six months?)
@openminded
Sorry. It ‘s just that article made me more depressed. Really didn’t see the nice part in it.
Thanks OpenMinded. Closer to home, this is amusing to look back on:
http://49ers.pressdemocrat.com/2011/09/inside-the-49ers/2011-nfl-predictions/
Looks like most of the board predicted a cautious 9-7 or thereabouts. eastcoast9er had 10+, even TIM had 10. OREGONINER got it pretty close at 11-5 .
“Fan” had this to say:
“What is everyone talking about? The 49ers are going to win the Super Bowl!”
Right on brother, that was closer to the actual outcome than .500. Where are you these days?
@ribico
Thanks for the props. I’m pleasantly surprised at the final being 14-4, but I felt 11-5 was a good call. Two more wins in ’12!
Neal says:
JH is a very smart man and a motivator, and he is just pulling AS chain. I don’t think for a second that he wants AS to be the QB for the next 5 years.
Well the contract extension will say everything we need to know about what the 49ers think of AS and what Alex thinks of the 49ers. Until that time you haters keep up with the wild predictions and hope Alex falls off the face of the earth.
Contacts are not guaranteed Lover!!
@Neal
Contacts are not for life.
They rip apart, get lost in your eye (that really hurts), a really big hassle to deal with, and cost a lot of money.
Were you talking about contracts though? The hatred is boiling over the top now. You don’t even know the difference.
And, oneniner is right. The Niners don’t sign anybody (AS included) to a contract without wanting the guy. Hence, they sign the contract.
Neal don’t let the Smithers get to you, just listen for the crickets from your advisor 23j when the contract gets signed, should be nice to finally have vindication, buwahahahahah!!!!!!!!
PT,
I know by now, that you are not the sharpest tool in the shed and your football knowledge is very limited, again it does not matter if they sign Smith for 3 yrs,5yrs or 15 yrs, he will sign a contract no doubt that he will, but the contracts are not guaranteed, just the signing bonus, just because he signs a contract, it does not mean he will get benched for a better QB, or get cut. I don’t doubt for a second he won’t sign a contract but it basically means nothing, if JH finds someone else they will bench AS. You don’t need to be Bill Walsh to understand the basic’s of football, damn you are so thick in the head.
…”I don’t doubt for a second he won’t sign a contract but it basically means nothing”…..
ha ha ha….actually it does mean alot…..sorry but you are wrong……
Neal not sure what type of work your in but when someone signs a contract my inclination is that both parties want to make it work. Even if it is all signing bonus there are still salary cap ramifications if the player is released.
Smith does not sign in SF if they bring in a Manning but if he looses the job to CK then that’s the way she goes, pretty sure he is aware of that. Somehow each party is invested in oneanorher based on all the organizations public comments, and I doubt JH is the kinda guy to tell the media and fan base one thing and do another. Rookie head coaches that do that lose the lockerroom instantly.
My point is you can come up with every single critism of Smith, no one cares, no one is listening. As a Smither I love seeing the development of this team from 2005 til last year being one bad turnover away from the superbowl. You can look at it as placing it all on Smith but that opinion is for people trying to sell newspapers and create a controversial buzz on their blogs. The other is for fans who can’t see the potential and want immediate results. Unfortunately this is still a team in the development stages and only one or two players away and one of them is not a QB. In JH we trust.
That’s interesting .. an Alex supporter refering to Alex as ‘SHE’
PrimeTime said:
“Smith does not sign in SF if they bring in a Manning but if he looses the job to CK then that’s the way she goes”
FDM, your kind of a embarasing the less said the better.
Whats embarrassing is that I keep knocking down your left field football IQ and you keep comin back. Keep it up junior, I ve got lots of schooling to do with you yet!
FDM, you have absolutley nothing to say on here, every time I make a post, you say you are done with me, but you keep coming back. Are you a confused AS LOVER. Your nothing but a sorry ass old raisen, shriveling up…. How was your AS fan cult party last night, did you enjoy it with PT and DS, did you buy your nikes, big AS cult leader and going to space tonight.hahahah you crack me up.
Neal I am done with you in regards to football talk cause you bring nothing but hate and wild predictions, but if you want to continue this back and forth insult stuff, son, I am the best!
@ FDM,
Why would I even want to start a conversation about football to you and the other LOVERS of the AS cult fan club, you think that AS is better then SY, JM, TB, DB and AR. The guy in 6 years has never thrown a 300 yard game, he is a one hit wonder and throws the best worm burner passes in the NFL. He was just rated number 20th in the NFL by his friend Dilfer. You keep saying that I am nothing but a AS jock strap. Dear sir, your jock strap if you call it one is nothing but a rubberband and a peanut shell. I have zero interest in talking to some AS zombie fan about football. Now get a life. if you need some help in getting out of the AS cult club, their are resourses for you out there.
@ PT, your comment
” My point is you can come up with every single critism of Smith, no one cares, no one is listening” If that is case why are the Lovers bashing me.
If that is case why are the Lovers bashing me.
Maybe because you cant get off Alex’s jock with highlighting your worthless opinion on every single thread x2 rookie!
Eco “way she goes is a figure of speech” stick to cartoons like your avatar.
Openminded, try the last 3 years! It’s hate central since the Maicco days.
ribico, no not touchy.
I grew up on the westside of Oakland, west of San Pablo Ave. Believe me, there’s not too many things that make ‘sensitive.’
Heck, do you you really think I care what a person with ‘passive/aggressive tendencies calls me? Get real.
Today, I was merely pointing out who is the bearer of ‘drama’ on this blog. You are right, about who begin this thread with the ‘hater’ comment. But if you continue to follow that person’s thread you will note that no one uses that label more then he/she. No biggie ribico, no harm no foul, just stating the facts.
Let me state this to you so I can be completely clear; Alex will be our Starter next season, and IMO, he can deliver a SB. Now, you may feel free to call me an Alex ‘hater’ if you wish (lol). Appearently, unless I salivate over Alex and never give him a critique and clamor for the Org to give him a 5-7 contract with the franchise label along with continually blaming the Receivers for his low numbers I’m a ‘hater.’ Hahaha! what a joke!
West side of Oakland is a paradise next to the east side of Oakland.
And maybe if you were not so sensitive, you would not be called a hater.
AES,
Yes, finally the chickens come home to roost. Finally, bloggers are starting to identify DS for the clown it is. Biggest sh-t starter on the blog. And has the nerve to never leave the damn place. If it knew anything about football, Grant may have given it a job by now. I’m telling you, this clown DS is an alien. It never sleeps. On this blOg 24-7. Sadly, it doesn’t know jack about football. Constantly making comparisons between Alex Smith and Montana/ Young???? What’s wrong with this idiot.
DS , just give us a couple of days off of the site please. I promise you that grant won’t write a word about you!! Now get lost. Run along Alien!!
The AS lovers on here know actually nothing about Football, we know who they are and they are like closet cheerleaders all they care about is AS, they are the real hater’s on the team, how the hell do you compare AS to AR, what a joke.
First of all why do you care so much about DS and what he does with his time. For every comment this individual makes, your obviously reading it, so you spend just as much time on here which makes you a hypocrite.
Secondly, what has DS ever done to make you say that he is a:
sh-t starter
clown
doesn’t know jack
idiot.
Is this the start of you “unleashing a fury of hate no one has seen before? Hhahahahahahh! Get back on your meds 23, your sounding a little scary. Lol~!
23J, I really don’t give a rat’ … about DS. I only respond when he/she references my name after numerous confessions that he/she would never read my posts or refer to me. I was having a convo with Hofe (which I enjoy, because Hofe at least has class), and DS does what he/she does best; Start Drama!
Maybe DS is on the PD payroll, because no one can get more mileage on a thread that was about Grant giving his take on his 5 favorite 49ers only to turn it into a mudslinging.
Let’s face it, DS has never gotten over Grant’ post about ‘him missing 49erGirl.’ When DS went on vacation no one noticed (until he/she announced their return). Maybe being here 24/7 is his/her way of getting revenge (lol).
Sad existence…
Good points FDM
If I am such a horrible blogger, why have they kept reading my stuff?
Like the proverbial ‘moth who can’t stay away from the lightbulb.’ This person makes it too easy!
BTW, East Oakland has a very posh community called Piedmont and Montclare. Yeah, they grow them very tough there! hahaha, what a joke!
The worst schools in Oakland is in the rich East side.
Been robbed a few times this year alone. Gangs running around. No teachers/principles want to stay there. Despite the rampant number of teachers who are laid off, and schools closing.
Yeah. You know so much more than me.
If you need to think that to feel better about yourself, that is what you use this blog for anyway. Have at it.
AES, Take it easy on DS. The poor thing has so much going for itself that it is on here posting 24 hours a day.
Somehow I find it extremely hard to believe that someone who never leaves their computer for a moment, actually has the time to go out and get ‘robbed.’ But hey, to each it’s own.
good night.
Too bad nobody robbed his computer.
Is this what this blog has evolved to?
….guess some things don’t change, AES gets dumber and dumber with every comment he makes……..AES my advice is to go back and piggy back on others comments…..
This coming from the tool that posts under multiple names.
….BigPuss prove it?…..or muck off…..
I don’t need to prove it. The fact that I ask Primetime (aka Michael Crabtree) a question and you answer it tells me all I need to know. It’s all good, people are smarter than you give them credit for. I’m sure Michael Crabtree will pop up any second now to defend himself.
@txtree
“Is this what this blog has evolved to?”
Sadly, yes.
@oneniner
Give AES a break now. All the recent polling people are busy with the presidential race. So, he doesn’t have anybody to help him out to find what to think and when to flip-flop.
Like I said. AES (it, she, he) needs to make passive aggressive shots at me to feel better. Let him at it. AES is the one who needs to play some violent video games and get his anger/frustration taken out killing a bunch of soldiers/monsters rather than coming onto this blog and jerking people around.
Big P why do you keep bringing that up? I mean you haters are alike, maybe you guys are the double posters repeating the same old thing about Alex. But all AS did this year was win games and somehow you morons found it relevant to give everyone else credit but him, then when he wins against NO your all pro Alex and now your not. Shut the hell up an make up your mind!
Good question Prime
I remember when Houston logged in as Nurse Chappel and poked some fun at oneniner.
All the same people who were laughing and getting a kick out of that post are the same ones who keep nagging on you about Michael Crabtree. So, it was ok to log in as possibly the worse medical professional in movie history, but not as a WR?
Are they really that stupid? Did they really think Michael Crabtree logged in under his actual name? And, it isn’t like you did it every freaking day. The term I gave them is correct. They are haters.
Why hasn’t Grant ever pointed out who the losers were who logged in as my name, or other names? Those are the ones who need to be pointed out. What if I logged in as Obama? Would anybody here think the president of the US actually cared about the Niners and this blog?
I am for Alex, any disagreements I have come from the Smither’s either over touting his play or ripping another player on the team. It’s no surprise that you jumped into the mix after I directed a post at Oneniner……you took the bait. As far as Smith goes, he was part of a team that won 13 games. He didn’t win 13 games. The offense was bad and the ST and defense were spectacular. Don’t want to face the facts? It’s pretty hard to make the playoffs without a top defense when you are 31st in redzone scoring.
You say you are for Alex.
Point out when you defended AS from bay, 23J, and the others.
If you can’t, or there are not that many times where you have, and there are a lot of times where you go after those who support AS, what does that make you BigP?
DS,
It’s not my job to defend Smith, as a fan it’s my job to defend the team, which I do. You think the team is Alex Smith. There is a big difference. You try to lump me in with others instead of paying attention to what I say. You label people haters and claim you are about the team yet you hate on everybody on the team to protect Smith. If you really cared about the team, you would be open to anybody that could improve the roster, QB included. You would rather lose with Smith and blame others than win with someone else.
So, you can’t find any then.
Yeah. A fan’s job is to like the team. The team consists of its players. And the leader of a football team is the QB.
Your job is to support and cheer for your team. Not AR, PM, EM, or anybody else. You like them so much and fight with others who are defending their team to the point that they call you a hater, maybe you should either quit being a fan of that team, or reases how you come across to more than just me.
If the Niners don’t play the kind of offense/defense you like, then guess what? Don’t be a fan of them anymore. It’s ok. They will survive with or without you.
“You would rather lose with Smith and blame others than win with someone else.”
We just won with AS! We were as close to the Super Bowl as any team has ever been. And you want to get rid of the guy. Get rid of the guy who lead us this far?
I’d hate to be in the military with you. You know George Washington lost a few battles here and there don’t you? With you by his side, you would have tossed him away, and taken over the army yourself. How would things have turned out then?
Yeah. Good idea. Get rid of the guy who lead the team to the title game. Who beat the QB who you said was so much better than him (DB). After all that, most people would sit down and reconsider their opinions. If they were in fact neutral.
But, you have not. So, you are not neutral. And you are most definitely not a supporter of AS. Only one more thing you can be.
Again, find where I said get rid of him. Typical BS from DS. If you can upgrade the position, go for it. That is in the teams best interest. That is the bottom line and you agree with it unless it’s Smith people are talking about possibly replacing. Nothing new.
Know who else you hear that BS from?
Joe Montana
Steve Young
Just about anybody who has not a seething hatred of Alex Smith. Think a few great WR’s won’t help AS/team/winning?
But, BigP knows better than them all. Still waiting by the phone for the phone call from JH where he offers you his job because he is so impressed with your blog posts, he just wants the best for the Niners.
You imply that he sucks an awful lot. Like I said, you only debate with the Smith supporters and are backed by the haters. Whom you hardly ever disagree with. Put 1 and 1 together here.
Again, find where I said get rid of him. Still waiting…………
Still waiting for you to say
“JH knows more about football and the Niners and AS than I do.”
I’ve been waiting on that one for a long, long time.
And, you don’t like AS. Don’t try to pretend you do.
Still waiting DS…………..
Anytime I, or another person compliments AS, you are right there to spread your football wisdom that says we don’t know anything. That JM always threw JR open. JR was never open by himself. That the QB has to make every play every time. Yeah, whatever.
Anytime the haters write something that blames AS, you are right there. Backing them up.
Since you still think I brought up 49erGirl, I doubt me pointing out a post where you did these things would help. You’ll just ignore it. Just like how you ignored it when I said AR and the Pack may not make the Championship game back in mid season when it looked like the Pack and Niners would be the top seeds.
You said I’m stupid for thinking that. That AR was this and that. Well, all I said was that he didn’t prove it against anybody of note yet. And when the playoffs came, he stank it up big time. Had he played better, the Pack would have won. The refs were trying their best to help AR out as well. But, even then AR blew it big time.
Stupid was right. Stupid was right, while you were wrong.
Still waiting BigP…………..
You really don’t have the balls to admit that you don’t know as much as JH.
I did. Adam has. Ribico has. You know what? Everybody who is not a hater has said that they don’t know as much as JH, and trust him/his opinion and will go with it.
The haters….never do. Since you never have, then….
Still waiting……..we aren’t talking about Jim Harbaugh. Never were. Waiting for you to point out where I said get rid of Smith. Still waiting….
Still waiting for you to say the quote:
“I don’t know more about football, the Niners and about AS than JH does.”
I have hounded you for weeks about you saying that. Everybody else who is not a hater has said it one way or another. I have actually said it directly.
Come on now. You love to write your essays about me. Just write those 14 words. Can’t be that hard. Can it?????
I guess you can’t find where I said that.
@FDM, that kid Neal has no clue, I would avoid all dialogue with him. He posted this week that he is a hater and is here only to stir it up, just ignore his sorry a$$.
@PT and FDM,
The problem with both of you AS LOVERS is that you are both socially weak and you don’t have the will to ignore me, your both continue to bash me, which then gives me more fuel. Keep your bashes coming.
@Neal
A few days ago, you said you were done posting here until after hockey season. Only checking in once in awhile.
Prior to that you only posted a few times a day, if that, and you actually made some good points.
Since then, you have posted a lot more. And, it has all been negative.
Please make up your mind. Can you do that? Please.
@ DS, Yes that was true and I will be watching the hockey game tonight, if it was not for you, PT and FMD bashing me which I find quite enjoyable,and has given me more fuel I would be off here. But the funny thing was I saw all of you in a little yellow school bus, that said AS Cult Lovers, it was a bus for special needs and all of you look heavily medicated.
Go back and look at the timing of your posts.
You wrote that post before FDM and Prime and myself were bashing you.
The last thing I said to you before your post was that you can’t trust ESPN. You said you don’t care if I trust them or not, and that you were out of here.
You came back, and attacked a long time vet in FDM, who I share similar views with. Then you went after prime. So, I will stick up for them. That is what people do. Maybe you are not a person, I don’t know. Nor do I remotely care.
The only thing I care about is whether you are a Niner fan or not. That is all that matters. Not your religion/gender (which 49erGirl thinks she knows about me better than I do). Only your allegiance to the Niners matter to me.
Well said Prime Time.
…BigPuss is a social moron……a confused hater……
And you are a loser, plain and simple. People know your game, and it is weak.
My favorite 49er is Kyle Williams followed closely by Alex Smith.
LMAO that was freaking funny New york fan.
Treat this as a PSA.
Gannon for Alex for Come back Player
Gannon in a lot of ways is like AS.
Both were not given a decent chance.
I always like Gannon a lot more than Elvis, who I believe kicked Gannon out of KC. Then Gannon played well for the Vikings (I think).
The only thing I liked that Gruden ever did was to bring in Rich Gannon. Had we not had Steve Young, I would have picked Gannon up in FA, or even trade a #2 for him at the time. He had all the qualities JM had. Smart guy. Compassion/Passion for the game. Made plays on his own. Very accurate within 20 yards (all you have to really worry about while running the WCO). Tough as nails.
A lot of qualities Gannon had, AS has as well. Although AS has a lot better arm than Gannon had. Gannon was ignored for the bigger arm QB, and AS had crappy HC’s his whole career until now. But, AS is still younger than Gannon was when Gannon really took flight as the Raider QB.
@DS9
Yes. I always respect the opinions from people who actually lived and experienced the real thing. Unmatched insights.
@AlbertS
I believe you are relatively new. So, I don’t know if you saw the link niner61 had a week(?) ago or so.
Where Joe Montana was saying a lot of the same things that I among many others have said for reasons why AS has looked so bad for so long.
The haters who watched the video link just said that JM was just being nice.
So, it never ends with them. But, to any real objective fan, the AS debate is over. He earned himself a new nice salary for this team. The haters can’t handle that, so they lie.
Gannon got his team to a Super Bowl, Alice has not, Gannon is a much better QB.
Thanks for the history lesson Neal.
Gannon was quite old when he got them there.
AS was within a stupid muff punt, DG knocking out our starter CB Brown who was kicking butt all day long, and a WR who can get open all by himself more than once a day from the Super Bowl.
What if AS gets there next year? And wins. Will he be better than Gannon then?
Here is some more history for you Neal.
Gannon had JR and Tim Brown as his WR’s. Think they helped him out a little more than MC and KW did help AS during this playoff run?
I’ll answer it for you. Heck YES.
Earlier comment said it all, Bruce all pro and good Hall of Fame candidate was fantastic under Shawn Hill, then AS comes along and Bruce has dismall season and he retires.
@DS9
I saw the video. Good stuff.
I’m now ignoring the horn of the Troll wagon. Just saying.
‘oneniner’ where you been bud? I was getting worried that you ran to hide somewhere after we lost against the giants. Oh wait, you did run and hide after the loss to the giants. No worries dude, we know you are a coward who needs DS to pat your back until you burp.
The perfect match: The coward and the bi-polar drama queen. The match made in …… oh well, you guessed it.
Here’s some friendly advise; Go out and make some friends. Oh sorry, you two are too socially inept for that. Hey, but in DS’ case, just make more enemies, that what drama queens do best!
You two make it too easy for me (lol). DS’ said a month ago that he/she never reads or responds to my posts. Then piggy-backs on Hofers posts to call me a flip-flop and politician.
Then when the people respond, she/he plays the sympathy card; “you don’t know what i’ve been through.’ She/He is the welcoming committee to every new poster, then pulls the welcoming mat from underneath them when any ctitique of her/his god Alex is mentioned.
Anaysis:
by-polar
socially inept
hypocritical
passive/aggressive
Oh, and worst; ‘oneniners’ mouthpiece!
Poor AES
Can’t handle his own problems. You just have to bring me up. If you were a real man, you would be able to take it.
And very mature AES. I like how you pass yourself off as “I’m thru with you.” When I didn’t even attack you at all. Then backstab me all the time.
Everybody knows your game. They either like it or not. More people don’t.
@DS you sound like a hater and not a lover, poor boy or girl is confused.
…wow…i like this 2012 AES………you def.. grew some balls…i bet 49ergrl helped you out wit dat!!!!!
Hahaha, oneniner, got to give you credit for coming to your girl/boyfriends aid. You make the perfect ‘boytoy’ for her/him. Now, let her/him pat your back and put you to sleep son.
Your girl/boyfriend will never have the ‘cred’ and respect 49erGirl has. You should be ashamed that you even mention her name bud, you’re not worthy (lol)!
What side of you is talking? The passive or aggresive? Go back over the last week or month and tell me where did I mention you first. I am merely responding to your piggy-back comment about me when I was in convo with Hofer.
Once again, there you go with the innocent card.
You have been exposed for a long time now. At least take your knocks like a man/women and dont run and hide like your boytoy oneniner.
Big P you are helpless! As if you have never said anything remotely close to criticizing Alex. If DS has the time to search for it great but ypir reputation on here as a waffler is as pathetic as AES. The Niners win and Alex has potential, TE Niners lose and it’s Alex is terrible. You haters are all the same, pathetic clowns!
@Big P,
Trying to discuss logic with the AS fan club C U L T LOVERS is quite difficult, if you don’t support AS, you are a hater and not a true Niner fan, these people who I see everyday in a little school bus on the highway have special needs and are under heavy medication for depression.
@Prime
“If DS has the time to search for it great… ”
No need. BigP will write something soon to prove it.
Always has before. It’s hard to break a habit.
Prime Time,
I have criticized Alex. I have never claimed that I haven’t. DS criticized me for saying I don’t want Alex Smith next year, which is false. I have never said that. I asked her to point out where I said this and she couldn’t. We all know she has the time to do it. I have stated many times that I’m happy about Smith returning. I just call out the good and bad, while you call out the good and blame another player or hide for the bad. Again, if you read the comment maybe you would know what your talking about.
@Prime when Alex has a good game he gets praise. When Alex has a bad game he gets criticism. That’s called objectivity. It may offend your man-crush but it is what it is.
To Smithers every member of the team is subject to criticism except Alex. Actually, every member of the team is an excuse for Alex not doing well.
To 49ers fans every member of the team is subject to criticism including Alex. No excuses. That’s the difference between Alex fans and 49ers fans.
msclemons67,
You hit the nail on the head.
You don’t need to be Einstein that the Smithers or I call them LOVERS of the AS fan cult are a dysfunctional group, they are just cheerleaders for Alice, not real fans, we make a opinion or two on Alice and they cry all a way home to their Moms, waahhhhhh
All good and fair point points but does the frequency of that critisim mater? Because to me, when a player gets villified for every snap he takes, every throw he makes or misses on, and people are looking at him thru a telescopic lense on every play and write about it after every single game, on a 13 win season, I would say there is a problem with that.
You talk about objectivity, your telling me statements like this are objective:
‘AS sucks, AS sucks, AS sucks oh boy are you losing your temper’
Alice,
Smith will regress next year
I guess the national media isn’t as stupid as the Smithers around here.
AS is just a one hit wonder
Harbaugh wants to continue to try and mold Smith into something he is not, an elite QB. All the wide receivers in the world couldn’t make this dude elite.
Yeah, losers making loser statements with no objectivity or football knowledge to back it up. If you can tell me that there is not hate behind those comments, I have a long beautiful bridge to sell you right near the water! Let me know if your interested.
Just saw that Eddie wasn’t elected into the HOF. Apparently winning five Super Bowls, hiring the best coach in NFL history, and being part of building a dynasty isn’t enough.
That is a shame, he was one of the best owners ever, and would of love seeing him in Canton, probably political becauase of the scandel that threw him out of the game.Been to the Hall of Fame several times, can spend hours their, cool place.
Being run out of the league for being involved in gambling corruption is going to keep Eddie D. out of the Hall unfortunately.
Just like flopping his man meat in female reporters’ faces will hopefully keep Charles Haley out.
Alex Smith wins comback player of the year award!!! NOT!!! Sorry Smithers. You can cry now!! Stafford wins. He pulls the trigger!
What a surprise! I guess the national media isn’t as stupid as the Smithers around here.
Sorry DS and Albert, no love for your boy. Average play doesn’t win awards.
Jack,
The writers didn’t fall for the flim flam Harbaugh tried to fool them with. Elite Alex, my man!! Bad part is, Smith will regress next year. His ceiling is the padding inside of his helmet.
Smith has been overlooking open receivers his whole career. Just ask Rob Brooks , ex sideline reporter from KNBR. That’s why he’s the ex, he let the cat out of the bag from the sideline last year on alex not throwing the ball to open receivers. He’ll do the same thing next year as well. He’s good at it.
@23 jordan,
What a shock !!! Sorry AS LOVERS, AS although he improved, he was rated this week in being the 20th best QB in the league, which means he has gone from 30th to 20th, that is not enough AS fan club CULT members. If our defense was as good as our offense this year, we would of won maybe 8 games top’s, AS looked good because our defense was incredible along with our special teams, other then the dumb bozo KY, AS is just a one hit wonder, and the AS lovers on here go back into your pity caves. AS is not a play maker, if we had Stafford we would be in the Super Bowl baby !!
Watch now all of the AS LOVERS now come with the excuses, the truth hurts, we are lucky to have DA kicking field goals because of AS incompetence.
Alex Smith wins the comeback from the dead award. He also wins the nicest QB in the league award. He let rookies use his car. He also wins the NFL safest QB award. Alex racking it up this year!
Exactly he is the nicest and safest QB in the game, yea he is a game mger.
Still one brain away from an intelligent thought. LOL
Give me Megatron and I’ll throw it up there and pray like Stafford that he catches it. Give me slow diva Crabtree or tiny fumbilitis Williams and I’ll throw some grounders or take the sack cause those guys can’t get it done!
C’mon Prime. The only reason AS was even up for the award in the first place is that he has SUCKED so bad for 7 years, and finally had a single average year. Stafford deserved it because he was coming back from an injury, not ineptitude.
@Jack Hammer,
You can’t talk logical to the AS LOVERS, they are not quite right.
Nothing has changed in the big picture.
JH, who stands by Alex, won COY. One smart dude. LOL
Alex earned his next contract. Well deserved.
Yea he will get a contract but it’s like the last ugly girl at the dance, all of the pretty ones are gone, and only Alice is left.
phew..
Not a single mention of JH winning COY, but they jumped on Alex not winning.
Some fans. LOL
JH is a great coach, no doubt about it,he helped AS go from the 30Th best QB to the 20th, that is quite accomplishment for a # 1 bust.
Someone please move that Troll wagon. LOL
The one w/ the “Alex sux” bumper sticker. LOL
The AS Fan club Cult members, they are the ones that are the haters, they hate fans that don’t agree with their man crush. AS. I can’t wait for next yr or the yr after we will have a new QB and will contend for the Super Bowl for years to come. Don’t care if AS get a contract, JH will always look for someone better that will get him and his team a ring.
I am getting very tired of all of the bashes on here for AS. Alex Smith is the best QB the Niners have had in the last six years, wait a minute, oh he was the second best behind Shawn Hill.
Total bull crap that Justin Smith does not get defensive player of the year, crazy crap.
“Give me Megatron.” Once again the Alex deifiers find someone else to blame. The Alex deifiers continue to blame Crabtree, and now they’ve thrown K.Williams into the mix. Prime, you are a complete joke!
Alex throws at Crabtree’ feet and it’s Crabtree’ fault. He overthrows a wide open K.Williams and it’s Williams’ fault. Alex misses on a wheel pattern to D.Walker, and you guessed it, soon you will blame D.Walk. Hahaha, and you say I’m the clown. Take the ‘blinders’ off prime, you continually embarrass yourself by being stuck in Alex World bud.
Alex World: ‘the happiest place on earth’ where it never rains. Where flowers grow and and wrap themselves around you. Where everyone smiles at each incessently.
…small disclosure… if you don’t bow down and worship Alex, you will be ostracized and called a ‘hater.’
You are a sad excuse for a 49er fan dude. When did you lose the concept of TEAM!
@big P, I have been critical of Smith many times, that goes for the playcalling, the entire offense and individual players. I’m just not on here daily putting it all on the QB like some people, you know, the haters like you that when after a loss it’s all Alex all day, every throw, basically every snap. But when the Niners won this year it was either the defense that won that game, or AS was just okay. You don’t win 13 games with 6 comeback victories and only 5 INT’s all year on special teams and defense. Face it, AS can do no right by hater standards. After the NO it was all roses on here, after the NY game it was AS fault because we turned the ball over and he missed two throws in the 1st half, give me a break, some people can’t see beyond their ego, so shut the hell up about DS and anything ALex, at least those two have a brain!
You guys are all the same, blame everybody else but Smith. I sound like I hit a nerve, probably because you and your dysfunctional shadow can’t back up anything you ever say. It’s all good, you pick fights and then can’t finish them. You accuse people of saying things and of course you can’t prove it because the person never said it. Nothing new.
@AES is Calvin Johnson the equivalent of Crabtree, is Williams, Ginn, better than Burleson, Titus Young? The answer is we have the worst WR core in the NFL. Of course losers like you will put it in the QB or the playcalling when in fact it’s the inability of our WR to WR open. Everyone that watched that game against the Giants said the same thing, except for Cossell and the haters. Your telling me a well respected like TIM K W’s lying web he said the Niners WR did not win the one on one battles and didn’t compete against the Giants secondary?
I’m not blaming anyone cause it is about team. You need to talk to your hater friends about football being the ultimate team game and it takes 11 guys to make things happen, not jut the QB.
@ BiG P the only nerve you hit ithe stupidity nerve. The one that tells me your a waste of time. I’ll see you next year blowing white smoke up Smiths arse after wins and jumping off the bandwagon when we lose. How convenient for you loafer fans, joy after wins, biased judgements after losses, get serious!
“@ BiG P the only nerve you hit ithe stupidity nerve. The one that tells me your a waste of time.”
I like how you respond to let me know I’m a waste of time.
“How convenient for you loafer fans, joy after wins, biased judgements after losses, get serious!”
Yet you clowns were the ones blaming anybody but Smith all year long. Talk about biased judgements after losses! Go read your own posts.
What was there to blame Smith for? 13 wins or the fact he had 5 interceptions all year? See Big P, why are you looking to place blame, we had a great year, a costly TO from playing in tommorow game, what so sour?
It was the defense that got us 13 wins, we led the league in field goals, way to go Alice.
I’m starting to wonder is the Troll wagon a refurbished, silver and blackish bandwagon.
FDM,
I’m not blaming Smith for anything. Your jumping into the conversation without being a part of it. It’s about a group of people that claim they are for the team. They label people haters when they criticize anything about Smith, yet they will rip anybody on the team if it means making Smith look better or absolving him of criticism. It gets old.
Still waiting BigP
Just say it.
“I BigP do not know as much football as JH. Nor do I know as much about the Niners or AS as JH.”
It can’t be that hard man.
Still looking for the post where I said to get rid of Alex Smith? Don’t forget, that was what you claimed I said. Of course you can’t find it because I never said it. You are a liar, plain and simple. That is why you try to shift the focus to something else. Nobody ever said anything about Harbaugh, stop your manipulating. It’s so transparent.
BigP
I have asked you to write this for a long time now. A lot. Many times. And, you just ignore it. No reason to be ashamed that the HC of the Niners knows a lot more than you do in the matters of football, Niners, and AS.
And, besides, I don’t have to look to the past for your posts attacking Smith.
You will write plenty in the future. I am sure.
I Jack Hammer, do not know as much about football as Jim Harbaugh, but I do know enough to realize that Alex Smith is 1 out of 7 for good years in his career, and that even with the best defense and coach in all of football he could not make enough plays to take his team to the Super Bowl.
Does that work for you DSucker?
“And, besides, I don’t have to look to the past for your posts attacking Smith.”
You claimed that I said I want Smith gone next year, I asked you to prove it. You can’t because I didn’t say that. You said I wanted him gone, prove it or be quiet. You just keep chirping with your BS because you know your lying. Prove what your saying or be quiet.
Glad to hear you finally say ‘the team’ Prime. If you can push yourself to use ‘the team’ term more often our responses towards each other may actually begin to have some civility.
+1 FDM, based on all the Smith talk you would have thought we went 3-13. The haters can’t get past that Alex is a winning QB and now the ceiling is high. There gonna go ou an reload on some playmakers on offense and put Smith in a better situation than what he had last year. The trump card in this debate is Harbaugh. He loves AS, can win with him ad the haters just can stand the fact they are wrong, sad, low intelligent human beings!
Yes we were all wrong when AS went 1 -13 on third downs in the biggest game of his life, right nobody was open and AS led the league in worm burner throws and also 4 and out in the 4th quarter.Anyway Dilfer had it right, he has AS as the 20th best QB and the majority of this site can agree, except the LOVERS !!
…dude you are late….you missed the train……Alex is legit and you are a bust!!!!
You gotta love the rookies hey oneniner, all piss and vinegar, so much to learn yet so little to work with. Next year when winning becomes a habit again in SF, the hater club loses its lustre.
@FDM
After the NO playoff win, I noted that AS threw for 299 yards. And that since he didn’t hit 300 yards, he will be hated for it.
Turns out that I am right.
Sometimes it sucks to be right.
AS has never thrown a 300 yard game ever, starting QB for 6 yrs.
Isn’t thee a Sharks game on now?
If not, DVR them Neal. Watch them carefully. Analyze every little thing, and take your time.
@DS,
The game started at 5.00 and the Sharks lost, Niemi didnot play so hot and Burns made two dumb plays and one hit the blade of the skate and the other his stick both goals but in the wrong net. I went to the game last week, it was great we won 6 to 0 with alot of fights, only been to 3 games this year but hope to go to a few more this year. thanks for asking,
Neal, amen dude. At least you aren’t drinking the AS koolaid.
No Jack Hammer, not joining the man crush fan club for AS. They are the haters, if you disagree with them they hate you. Crazy/
…..guess if you like or are ok with the QB of your fav team you are considered a smither………..really!!! losers is this what you guys are whinning about now?…
Grant, can you close down the blog until there is actually something to discuss?
