The Jim Harbaugh Lexicon (Lowell column)

My dad wrote his column for Friday on the lexicon of Jim Harbaugh. He chronicled all of the head coach’s favorite phrases. He even grouped them by category. The Cohn Zohn feels confident this is a comprehensive lexicon, but if you discover an omission please bring it to light. To read my dad’s column click here.

  1. Rich, San Ramon says:

Grant: I don’t know how to post to your Dad anymore, but please convey to him that when he writes like this he’s a 14-3 writer.

  2. Daniel says:

    Another lexicon
    On the Media:

“We’ve plowed that ground before. It’s pretty well documented.”

In other words “I’m not an idiot. I have answered this question at least five times before and you changing the way it is asked doesn’t change my answer.”

  3. 49 1er says:

I think your dad got one of the phrases wrong. I think it goes “we ask no quarter, we get no quarter”. When describing if it was unfair that the Saints blitzed to much against them in the preseason. Still don’t understand the saying. Loved the saying “yearly I will strip my sleeves and show my scars” direct quote from Shakespeare’s Henry V – Saint Crispians Day Speech

    • Pork_Bun_Luncheon says:

      Ask/give …

      Quarter = domicile, shelter…

9ers don’t ask for any favors and don’t give any favors.

    • DS94everXev says:

      should have read

“so no need to read them.”

at the end of my post above.

  4. Pork_Bun_Luncheon says:

    Lowell is the best. Period.

    • 23jordan says:

      You’re an azz!!

      • Pork_Bun_Luncheon says:

Damn right! I’m a smart azz, whereazz you are a dumbazz! Really, though, I’m done venting. It’s okay that you hate Alex. I’ve been doing some thinking, and realized that I am finally getting over similar feelings that I’ve long held towards SY. So, Jordy, my Dumbazz Brother, you go ahead and keep harboring your ill will towards Alex. I get it. Joe is God. All others are unworthy.

      • DS94everXev says:

        Nice Pork.

Now just do your best to ignore the guy. Even though he will come after you a lot and try to get you upset. Just do what I do and skip his posts. Most of them are either attacking AS or another blogger here anyway, so so need to read them.

      • 23jordan says:

        DS, porkazz

Still the dumbest poster on the blog, yet trying to provide advice to an imbecile??? What are you? You are as ignorant as the porkazz, you clowns are truly made for each other. Did porkazz take primeoneninercrabtree’s place? You clowns hand in your resignations immediately, you offer nothing to this blog.

  5. Sean in Canada says:

Really enjoyed that article. A thanks to your Dad for writing it and to you for posting it. He didn’t include my favorite though. “Who’s got it better than us? Nobody!”

    Love it.

  6. drsgrosse says:

Grant: your dad has made an amazing turnaround in the tone of his articles!! Bravo!

However, he got one thing a little off. In reference to Coach saying that he tries to get the team to be one mile an hour faster each day, you dad said that they should now be ready to compete at Indy.

That will take one more win.

  7. OpenMinded says:

Perhaps the PressDemocrat can send this article on to NFL Films and make a “Sounds of the Game” program to be aired on NFL Network during Super Bowl hype week. It’s a nice recap of the year and how JH has handled being The Gladiator in the middle of the Colosseum, surrounded by his steely eyed men, whilst the reporters, riding the chariots, fling arrows at him in form of silly questions directed in bad tones.

JH and his mighty men live to fight another battle and do so in spectacular fashion. The season will end soon but “Not Yet” … only after the Battle in Indianapolis! Vini, Vidi, Vinci.

  8. Christo says:

It’s true. The media has never helped him win a game.

  9. Max says:

Lowell, under Heroes/Heroics you might want to add, “These men are Mighty Men.” (You working up material for a book? Hope so. It’d be a “winner.”)

  10. Brodie2Washington says:

Love the way Harbaugh avoids the use of the word “I.” Imagine someone asking Harbaugh what he had for breakfast…

“There was toast… excellent toast. Elite toast. Great toaster. A four slicer. Would not have it any other way. Brand? Does not matter. Proctor Silex, GE, doesn’t matter. Were’ focused on the toast. There were eggs. Juice. All standard. White or wheat? Sorry. Not answering any fiber related questions. Enjoy breakfast? Always enjoy breakfast…”

  11. Mrs. Cohn Zohn says:

    Hey Brodie

You made me laugh. Great breakfast metaphor. I see a budding writer.

  12. LA-LA Land says:

Still say Stanford would have won the Fiesta Bowl if Harbaugh was still the coach. No prisoners.

    • Stan says:

Shaw played not to lose,in the worst possible way..remove the greatest Stanford QB ever for a 19year old who’s knee’s were anock’in.

  13. Stan says:

I caught the “doesnt resonate” he uttered a couple of days ago. That was like the perfect military speak. I’m surprised nobody has written how much Harbaugh equates football with the military speak. He’s a real the Greaty Santini(Movie with Bob Duvall 1979).
I know that if it was me-I would tell the team “Never give your heart and soul-because it will be taken”. I would make a bad motivational speaker.

  14. Stan says:

When he was hired Harbaugh was at a press conference and said he would “Use a will power never before seen by mankind”..he’s come close.
