SANTA CLARA – Injured pass rusher Aldon Smith was a no-show on the 49ers’ practice field today. I haven’t seen him all week – he has not appeared at practice. I don’t know what that means.
CBS Rapid Report’s Kyle Bonagura tweeted he saw Smith two days ago at the facility limping and walking with a cane.
Delanie Walker, who appeared to hurt his knee at the Fan Fest on Sunday, did make an appearance at Wednesday’s practice. He mostly stood next to his teammates, and he did not seem to have any trouble walking.
Cornerback Perrish Cox missed his first practice of training camp. He’s “working through something” according to the team.

A hip injury like Aldon received is usually a 2 week recovery. I would like to see him remain a situational pass rusher early on with Haralson back as the starter. The thought of going up against Rogers, Stafford, Brady without him makes me nauseous.
Thanks for the posts Grant. Hope Cox is ok. Looking forward to your updates on the QB competition.
as long as Aldon is ready for the regular season, I dont’ know if is going to take two weeks for him to get better but during the preseason I guess he can take it easy we need him against GB….
Aldon can take it slow at least for the next 2 weeks and and get that last week of pre season to get ready for Green Bay, cause Rodgers is mobile and we need that outside passrush!!
After collecting two Super Bowl rings in five seasons with Kevin Gilbride as his coordinator, Jacobs has been blown away by Roman’s ability to showcase each player’s individual strengths. That is a recurring theme among 49ers players.
“That is what this staff does the best,” Jacobs said. “‘G-Ro’ is a genius, man. I’ve seen it, mainly these last couple days, we started doing some different things on offense, things out of different formations and basically putting the defense in sets he wants them to be in, versus what they want to be in.”
Based on what he’s seen, Jacobs thinks Gore would have six or seven Pro Bowl appearances by now, instead of three, had this 49ers staff been in place the whole time.
That’s what I like to hear when a player is describing our Offensive Coordinator/Staff!!
I dont know why people are calling Melky a cheat..everybody in the NFL is on PEDS..just look at those guys..When 280 pound lineman run like sprinters..that AIN’T NATURAL…the NFL is the NSL. Steroids.
I hate when Lowell has to work…takes so long for my posts to show..
Clint Sintim released…wonder if Mr. Baalke will give him a look. I liked him in the draft.
who’s that?
Maybe gangrene set in on Aldon’s knife stopping skin. With him, anything bad is possible.
Dear lord I pray that all injuries aren’t severe and happen in the offseason. Amen! ;-)
Nate Byham has been released.
I had a feeling that would happen. He was coming off an injury and his chances for the 3rd TE spot were small. I guess that leaves Rueland and Dobbs to grab that spot.
With the injuries to Walker last year and now I don’t see them going with only 2 TE and risk being short handed.
Rueland and Dobbs should both make the team. And your right Jack I dont think they only go with 2 TEs and Walker is nicked up right now also.
Melky? compared to Cox,Milky took a piece of gum, a single M&M. I dont get how Cox can live with the guilt.
Good news: Aldon Smith walked out to practice today with no limp or help from the canes he has been using.
Thats good, hope he gets back to practice soon he still needs lots of reps before he is a 3 down player.
great news
