SAN FRANCISCO – Alex Smith had his best practice of training camp, and the 49ers’ first team-offense beat the first-team defense for a change.
Smith completed 9 of 10 passes on a 90-yard drive to end practice. On third and 9 from the defense’s 14-yard line, he connected with a wide open Konrad Reuland for a touchdown
Colin Kaepernick threw the best touchdown pass of the day in a red zone seven-on-seven drill. He saw Randy Moss running across the back of the end zone and threw a high pass only Moss could catch. And Moss caught it.
Scott Tolzien threw a beautiful touchdown pass to Mario Manningham on third and goal from the six yard line in an 11-on-11 drill. Manningham was being guarded by Tramaine Brock, and Tolzien threw a pass right over Brock’s head and into Manningham’s hands.
Josh Johnson threw a touchdown pass to Brett Swain on third and goal from the 10-yard line.
Like Friday night, all four quarterback played well.

What was your opinions on the WR’s today?
Crabtree played particularly well. He caught three or four first downs.
I thought he Williams and Swain did very well today. MC had a nice 1v1 vs Rogers i believe, the one caught for a would be TD. The MM TD was a beauty
Any standouts on the offensive line?
Good to hear Grant. I thought all the QB’s played well on Friday night and it seems like it carried over.
Awesome!!!!!

+1 We’re going to see a more confident Alex this year. Crabs will have his best year as well!
AS will be a start this year. His cofidence will grow just like last year. MC will be yet again average as Rm and MM take over.
Grant, what are you thinking about the Green Bay game.
Larry one thing I can guarantee, if AS is once again average then you are correct, MC will also be average.
Glad how none of the “smithers” jumped in to protect MC….
Bay
Glad to see your posting again. Even tho we seldom agree, I do like your post. MC has the same excuses/reasons for average as AS. MC as well as AS have not performed up to their elite positions in the draft. AS has elevated his game and but still has room for improvement, MC just needs to stay healthy, keep his mouth shut, and quit droping the easy passes (he catches the difficult ones more often then not). We unlike last year, know we have an outstanding chance at the SB and we need AS and MC to make improvements in their game to get there.
Sounds like Alex had another good day. Long passes to Davis and Moss hit them both in stride. Hit Hunter on a dead run. Sounds good to me.
