The 49ers will blow out the Lions on national television Sunday night, 33-13.
Take this prediction with a grain of salt. I was way off last week, predicting the 49ers would lose by 11 to the Packers. Whoops.
Here’s why I think the Niners will beat the Lions by 20:
- Detroit’s offense will be one-dimensional. They’ll pass almost every offensive snap.
- Detroit’s offensive line is completely overmatched by the Niners’ defensive line.
- Stafford is not as good as Aaron Rodgers, who can buy time behind the line of scrimmage, calmly go through all his reads and fire passes into tight windows. Stafford is mechanical and skittish in the pocket. Once the pressure’s on him, he’s toast.
- The Lions defense will load the box with eight players to stop the 49ers’ running game, but they won’t stop it. Greg Roman will figure out more clever ways to beat defenses with the run when they know a run is coming. Expect to see draws, screens and fly sweeps.
- With the box loaded up, Alex Smith will complete four or five long passes – shot plays – to Randy Moss, Mario Manningham and Vernon Davis. The Lions secondary is not good enough to slow down those players.
- The Niners will demoralize the Lions in the first half, maybe the first quarter. The Niners defense will sack Stafford. The Niners offense will establish the run game and complete a couple long passes, and the Lions will realize the Niners can get whatever they want, and we’ll see the Lions players and coaches sulk on the field.
That’s how I see it happening. What’s your prediction?

Music to my ears …
boom. I especially like the sulking part
well said
Excellent prediction of sulking!
Uh-Oh! I hope this ain’t like last year’s Ravens game! :~(
Just kidding :>)
We (me too) shouldn’t be too hard on Grant for his picks; they’re just picks.
Picking every game every week can be a humbling experience I’ve found.
So this week? I know the 49ers can win. I think they will win. I don’t do score predictions. There will be sweat & blood. 60+ minutes!
GFN!
This is exactly how I see it happening too. The Lions are a mediocre team and the 49ers are the Best or at least a top 3 team in the NFL. The 49ers should win almost every important statistical battle on the field while making the Lions look like a bad team.
I can see a blowout as long as the niners stop reading the press about how they are going to blow out the lions.
Complacency is the only thing that can take the niners down.
Memo to Freddy P Soft…
“We prefer all that be written, be written against us.”
“When people start talking nice about you, kick them in the shins.”
Another good one:
“It’s when honeyed words of praise are flowered upon us that we begin to feel exposed before our enemies.”
So basically just keep picking the Niners to lose, Grant. It’s better that way. You gotta play into Harbaugh’s us against the world mentality.
“Niners are overrated!! Detroit is going to surprise the NFL world and whoop them on their own turf!!” Put that on your bulletin board you sissy-lala linebackers!
OMG, I still can’t say that with a straight face….ditto what Grant wrote, lol!
My personal favorite that I see out there in the comments sections across the web: “The Niners are such a fluke. Alex Smith will revert to his old form. They always get the lucky bounce with turnovers, etc.”
To which I say, “Child, please.”
Brad youleft out the refs making all the calls in favor of the Niners excuse!
Yeah – all those “lucky bounce” turnovers against teams “who beat themselves”.
I’m so thankful to have such a “lucky” team!! Now if only they could play physical smash-mouth football and start forcing turn overs and winning games on their own, lol!!!
My favorite part of your prediction is the Lions sulking, because they really do that and it starts with Stafford. His body language is very telling when things don’t go his way. Hopefully you are as right this week as you were wrong last week.
Stafford doesn’t sulk. He’s not Cutler. He plays injured and plays like a man, he just doesn’t play very well with pressure in his face.
Starts with Schwartz – he’s the biggest pouting, sulking, whiny baby of the group
31-13 niners….. Smith throws for 330 3 td’s and 1 pick
Gore runs for 98 yards 1 td and catches for 50 yards
Reciever of the day will be Mario Manningham
Walker will have a nice game also, and MC will too.
Det will keep it close in the first half but sf will come out with adjustments and finish them off.
There will be a break dance contest between shwartz and harbs instead of a handshake. harbaugh will win with the song Combat from the movie Breakin playing on a boom box. And his hat turned backwards. Shwartz won’t know what to do.
you’re predicting an INT?
love my niners, but no way the lions arent coming out to play! they want this game more than any other game. and alex smiths constant incositencies, and greg romans tendancy to play things way too safe could be the difference between a win and a loss for this team. its not like with all our new additions at reciever that alex was airing it out all game long. some things never change. alex is still very much a below average qb, and game manager. our defense and akers will be the overall deciding factor as they have been all last season, and now into this season as well. my pick: a close game to the end as always with niners over lions 24-21
Below average? Over the past season and a half Alex Smith has ranked in the top 10 statistically across the chart in multiple QB’ing categories. To call him below average is laughable, at the very least he’s a very good QB.. he’s not elite, but if can put together a string of games like the one he had in Green Bay, he’d have to be considered elite. After watching so-called a “elite” QB like Cutler throw the ball all over the field and cost his team a chance to win, you appreciate Alex Smith alot more.
Goodness… who ever called cutler elite? This term gets way overused. There are 3 Elite qb’s and no Smith is not in that category because his name isn’t Brees, Brady, Rogers, (normally there are 4 but Manning is still a bit unproven after the injury). After that you have your very good Qb’s Big Ben, Eli, Peyton (could move up again). And here is where the waters get really muddy because your looking at above average qb’s ( Stafford, Romo, Rivers, Ryan etc… I would put Smith at the bottom end of this category currently, (because he doesn’t seem capable of being as spectacular as the others but he seems to be more consistent by far.) in short I would compare him to a Phil Simms type Qb.
The term “elite” is thrown about because it isn’t defined. Thus, it doesn’t exclude anybody.
Try to find the words to define elite QB. It needs to include all such QB’s past and present, while excluding all non-elite QB’s. It’s a lot harder than it is than to just name Brady/Brees/Rodgers.
DS -Elite QB simply means “the top of your position.”
Why make it more complicated than that?
C15
That may pass for an ok definition of the word “elite”. But QB is such a complex position, you need to describe what it is that an elite QB does vs. non-elite QB does.
Take AS’s last play last week. Choosing to run and force a GB Timeout. Was that an elite play? Given the time left in the game, it was better than making the same decision in the 1st quarter. Had AS threw incomplete, and GB scores and wins, people would point to that play as a reason for the loss.
“Top of your position” needs to consider a lot more than names. Rather a list of qualities/achievements each has that non-elite QB’s don’t or at least in some combination. And most non-elite QB’s will have some traits that the elite QB’s have. How many traits does an elite QB have and in what combination is necessary for a QB to go from non-elite to elite?
You can throw out names a lot easier than you can describe those traits/combo needed.
DS – You could have at least mentioned I gave you that breakdown on why Alex made a great play, on the 3rd and 17… Remember?
Whatever makes you happy DS.
C15
I also thought that was a good play l while it happened.
And yes. It was one of many reasons I used it as my example to you since I knew you’d remember it.
Purchase the GameRewind package and watch the game. Smith made only 1 error the entire game… not throwing to Crabtree in the endzone. That’s it. I prefer Kaepernick myself, but Smith can no longer be called below-average or even average. He’s an above-average quarterback who does more than manage the game. He’s just not explosive. He’s not dynamic. But he NEVER puts the team in a position to lose, which is good enough right now, given our defensive dominance.
I believe the Niners will win, but I wouldn’t get cocky about it.. were you not the SAME guy that said the Niners would beat the Giants with no problem in the NFC Championship game? Like Coach Harbaugh says, go with humble hearts.. meaning you can expect to win each week w/o thinking it’s a ‘cake walk’.
This should be a tough game, both teams motivated but the Niners are a better more balanced team and should win. Blow out? Not so confident about that but it sure would be sweet. If the O line can control the Lions D line (their strength) then we are in good shape. Our D line will dominate as usual. Expect no real run game from Detroit and MS pressured into a couple picks. I have a sneaking suspicion that JH was not just game planning all off season for GB but had a one-two punch to plan for the first two games and beat GB & D with new wrinkles for this week.
predictions are fun but what really shows conviction is where you put your money. so my question to you grant is are you a gambling man. single game bets? parlay cards? office betting pools? if you are i’m curious wether or not you are playing the 9ers -6.5. There have been yrs in the past where i have ridden the 49ers to very profitable years. i have to admit i have’nt taken that leap this year as of yet.
@ NINERMND. i love your optimism, and no offense, but literally none of those things will happen except maybe gore rushing for 98 yds and a td.
Oh its gonna happen. I’m not a raider fan that thinks we will win every game. I think it will be close the first half. Then we wipe the floor with them. And harbaugh will destroy schwartz in pop locking.
@ six ace deuce, exactly, i agree! love your team but be real, or youll look really dumb with overdramatized statements of optimism when it doesnt happen. thats logic! right on the mark, i agree 100%
49ers 31-10.
-AJ Jenkins will see his first action and run the fly sweep.
-49ers D will pressure Stafford into early int’s, and offense will cash them in to put the 49ers up big early.
-Stafford will put put to good yard numbers against soft zones as 49ers protect lead.
-Harbaugh and Schwartz will derail the handshake hoopla by going straight to the locker rooms after the game and meeting in the hallway instead.
About right.
ASmith WAYYYYYYYYYYY above average QB. Our D will force Staford into 3-4 interceptions. Zero Niner turnovers.
Look for Roman to totally befuddle the Lions D.
Look for Staley to have a very solid game and Brooks will have 2 sacks.
My prediction:
If the offensive line can hold the Lions’ D line at bay, expect to see Alex Smith and his receivers pick apart a porous Lions’ secondary, none of their DBs can match-up one-on-one with the Niners’ receivers or tightEnds.
Roman will start with the ground game, after watching the NFL Replay of Lambs/Lions I’d run to the left, trying to get those safeties to come up, which will mean one-on-one coverage on the outside.. if you’ve got Moss or Manningham lined up one-on-one, I hope Smith pulls the trigger and let them go get the ball. If you can get Vernon Davis matched up on a LB or Safety, it’s over.. they don’t have anyone that can guard him.. which means the Niners are likely to see alot of zone coverage, if Smith can hit his receivers in stride we can expect to see alot of YAC.
Defensively, it’s almost a given the Niners will shutdown the Lions’ rushing attack, making the Lions one-dimensional, but then the problem is how to defend Calvin Johnson. At the root of the Niners’ defense they like to play cover 2 with Safeties over the top, but when they go in man-coverage they need to keep Goldson playing centerfield or at least ‘spying’ Calvin Johnson.
I’d play Culliver on Johnson, I remember watching them go at each other last season, Culliver did a good job.. especially for a rookie. The Lambs managed to confusion Stafford last week with alot of different coverages that forced him into 3 picks in 13 pass attempts, we can expect Fangio to do that. If you can keep Johnson in check, nobody else on their team is going to kill you. Stafford can only really make 3 passes: jumpball to Johnson, seam pass to Pettigrew and the swing pass to Kevin Smith.. if you can defend those 3 passes, the Niners will win easily.
If the O-line can contain Suh and KVB and give Smith a clean pocket, the offense should do very well. If the defense can contain Calvin Johnson and limit is destruction, the defense will stifle Stafford and hopefully put him in the dirt a couple of times. I won’t predict stats, but if the Niners can do these things, they should win easily by multiple score margin.
They double teamed Calvin Johnson last year and will do the same this time around. This would mean that either Bowman or Willis will cover TE Brandon Pettigrew, which they did effectively last year. Johnson had 100+ yards in that game last year, but didn’t score a TD. I expect about the same output on Sunday.
Niners will shut down the run, they will shutdown big passing plays, game over …
My predictions:
Defense: Cowboy 2 sacks. Aldon Smith 2 sacks. Brooks sack and a half. McDonald 1/2 sack. Goldson pick six. Cox pick. Willis strips Pettigrew, Bowman recovers. Ice causes RB fumble, Aldon Smith recovers. D-line allows under 46 rushing yards and no rushing TD’s.
Offense: Alex Smith has career game of 350+ yards (due to Moss and Williams and Davis’s YAC) and 3 TD’s. Gore only gets 59 yards, but Hunter breaks 100 due to 79 yard run and TD. Crabtree breaks 100 yards but doesn’t score. Manningham makes a great sideline catch for a critical 1st down, but only has two for the day.
ST: Akers doesn’t kick an FG because he never has to. Andy Lee only punts twice, but each are inside the 10.
Final score: 49ers 35, Lions 10.
Spaceborn – your predictions are “waaay out there.” ;-)
Very optimistic!
Welcome all new Niner bloggers! TGIF!! Get the beers on ice asap!!
Thanks, Crab15! I actually did pretty well last week on my predicitons, though it wasn’t posted on this blog. I used to frequent another blog until I found there are some great fans on here that know their football even though there are the usual squabbles that go on between fans. But all-in-all, I really enjoy Grant’s blog and you other 49er fans are a breath of fresh air for me.
Spaceborn – Hands down best NFL blog! Good to have you. Squables are here to stay unfortunately.
Oh, if/when Crabtree drops a pass or Ahmad Brooks jumps off side, go easy on them Niner brotha. ;-)
Crab15, WR drops happen and OLB’s anticipate the snap incorrectly and get the occasional off-sides. Just part of the game of football. :)
Whoa…that is a lot of spaghetti on the wall…lol. Hope it all comes true.
MauiDave, I always figure it’s best to make my spaghetti sauce thick – just in case I make too much pasta there’s still enough to go around even if it thins it a bit! LOL
isn’t this the writer who predicted we were going to lose to GB??
The thing about getting on the bandwagon is that you can always get off, too. Look for it at the first loss. LOL
Yea, he mentioned that in the first sentence of this. Can you read
Can you put a question mark at the end of a sentence? I was responding to niner4life, not Grant.
isn’t this the writer who predicted we were going to lose to GB??
Explain what the heck you are talking about, Adam707? Just trolling?
My apologies Adam, thought you were responding to me. Please give a newbie a pass, okay?
Actually, what the heck – or who the heck or you responding to? You made absolutely no sense whatsoever in your response! First sentence? There was only one sentence in niner4life’s post. Here is how you count: 1-2-3-4-5 . . . . get it?
Spaceborn
Adam 707 wasn’t replying to you. If he was, he would have hit the reply button below your post at 1:05. He didn’t. He hit the reply post to Niner4life.
And Adam707 is a regular here. Has been for awhile now. If he is trolling, he hasn’t found his ticket to get off or for a new one to be printed.
:- )
PS Still love the name “spaceborn”
Thanks, DS, my bad.
i sure hope so.
Niners 24, Lions 14.
Schwartz blows a gasket on the sidelines in the 4th quarter, but manages handshake without offending Harbaugh or national audience. Aldon Smith unveils new sack dance after his 2nd or 3rd sack of Stafford.
Schwartz blows a gasket on the sidelines
Good one fesnyc. +1
For those who value Greg Cosell’s opinion of Alex Smith, here is a summary of his KNBR interview yesterday.
Funny how bay didn’t rush in here to report what Cosell said. Funny how bay hasn’t been around much since the Packers game.
It’s one game. Don’t tell me you trust Cosell now. Hes always been fair. His opinion about Smith last year was true. It is this year as well. However, it’s only been 1 game. He is as inconsistent as they come. What’s going to happen this week. Can he play 2 decent games in a row? It’s been a long time since we’ve seen that.
@23welcher:
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen that.
And it’s been even longer since we’ve seen you post anything knowledgeable about football.
23Jordan, you forgot to say he played 14 good games last season, was that eight straight wins, including 1 from the palyoff against teh saints.. lol ! You’re just jealous your boy J. Johnson, N.Davis and Troy smith are all out of football..
Everyone knows that 23jordan fake good attitude will soon end, and the real jordan will resurface..Congratulation ! you’re not gonna change, you’re still the same A. Hater…lol ! for crying out loud. Give it up !
Yeah ummm no sorry Jordo. Cosell has NEVER been fair when it came to Smith. I’m shocked he’s starting to change his tune somewhat or is at least willing to let fair creep into his critique of Smith.
Cause according to him last year it was never the Receivers fault. It was never the play call at fault. It was ALWAYS the fault of Alex Smith for not “throwing the Receivers open”. Which is analyst speak for “I am an ignorant SOB who doesn’t understand he first thing about a Passing Offense, but I have to say SOMETHING that makes me sound intelligent to the Football ignorant masses”.
Where was his condemnation of the Offensive ignorant Head Coaches leading this team before Harbs was named HC? Where was the condemnation of the Receivers when balls hit them in the hands and they dropped more than Smith threw in the dirt.
I believe, that Smith is more likely to throw the ball in the dirt when there are Defenders hanging on the Receiver and it’s not because Smith is not accurate. It’s because if the Receiver can’t get it then nobody can get it. It’s more self preservation than gun slinging. Gun slingers get picked off more often. Look at Eli’s numbers from last year. Or Brees. They throw it up there because their Receivers could be counted on. So they take chances with the ball that QBs’ like Alex couldn’t do because they don’t trust their Receivers. Imagine Alex throwing as many picks as either QB with Sing or Nolan as Smith’s Head Coach.
Smith would not have been the QB long with either of those men prowling the sidelines with the turnovers that either Brees or Eli had. But Cosell always acted as though that’s good Football. It’s not now nor has it ever been.
49erman,
You should wait until you’re 21 before you start posting on a blog. Get your grammar together and understand that real adults function with jealousy in their hearts.
Claude keep your fingers crossed. I’m used to Smith playing a decent game then a bad one. Or 3-4 bad ones in a row. We will know if that is changed in a couple of days. You should thank JH just like Smoth does for saving his career. He’d be on the couch holding his kid!! Bwahahahaha!!!
Lets rephrase it again you have to much resentment towards A. Smith. Because his alot better than your boys J. Johnson, Troy Smith and N. Davis.. Your boys can’t cut it in the NFL. All you know is to whine and cry.. lol !
@Jordo – When an analyst says mean things about the Precious he is an idiot. When the same analyst says nice thing about the Precious he is a genius. Those are the rules here.
We saw that with Steve Young last year. Steve started the year as a total moron but he said some nice things at the end of the year and was promoted to genius.
Just say nice things about the Precious Jordo and you will be a genius.
There are 49ers fans and there are Alex Smith fans. You want to know the difference? Just check who freaked out when the 49ers “evaluated” Peyton Manning. They didn’t want the team to upgrade the most important position on the field.
49erman/claude/ceadderman
Why does it matter what 23J thinks about AS? AS has been here since he was drafted. That is 8 years now. The Niners have never found a better player to take his position who came in here. And he led the team to the title game last year and is just about to come out on the right side of the 500 mark having just broken SY’s record of most passes without an Int.
Nobody can deny any of that. If they are, they are just trying to pick a fight.
And, that description to me sounds like a guy I’d want on my team. Nobody here is making those decisions anyway. JH and TB are. So people….please stop thinking you know more than they do. AS is here because he has been the Niners best option for over a decade once his current contract expires. If that doesn’t mean the guy is pretty good, oh well.
MSC,
I didnt think you remembered that Manning episode. That was amazing wasn’t it! Those same posters didn’t make one comment about Peyton Manning dismantling the Steelers without even huddling Sunday.
Instead they wanted to bask in Alex Smiths 212 yard masterpiece against GB when he never threw a pass over 15 yards in the air that was completed. Yes he was game manager of the week. Outplayed Rogers???? Yeah right.
Alex’s fans disappeared that week got sure. All except Hofer, who was throwing a fit!! Talking about we should go with Kap! A home grown QB. These Smithers are fanatical for real!
There are 49ers fans and there are Alex Smith fans.
There are 49ers fans and there are guys who are so afraid to acknowledge that they were and are wrong about Alex Smith that they try to change the subject by claiming that people who actually support the team’s QB aren’t really 49ers fans.
claude
I love stuff like that.
Why would anybody be an AS fan and not a Niner fan? Until last year, he hasn’t materialized into what we thought he was/could be. There was no real reason to be strictly an AS fan like you may find people being strict Shaq fans who followed Shaq more than they followed his team.
If you are an AS fan, you must be a Niner fan. How many players who haven’t lived up to expectations can claim to have a fan base so strong as the AS fan base if those fans are not fans of the team?
If you are an AS fan, trust me. You are a HUGE Niner fan.
OMG!
Give it rest, AS had a good game, and the miners won. Was he the reason for the win, no, but he contributed to a team win.
23Jordan,
Your comment is as ridiculous as I’ve seen yet. He’s been, arguably the most consistent qb in the league over the last 20 games. Do you actually have any idea what you’re talking about????
Claude,
I’ve actually been buried with work. I praised Smith quite a bit during the game. He had a very good game. He also missed roughly five or six deeper open routes. I don’t mind because he was successful with what he did.
He has never been the picture of consistency. Lets see him do it with more consistency before you go and crown him something other than what he’s been his whole career. Average.
I’ll take average any day of the week if it gets us a W. Hopefully he stays average cause the Niners keep winning and you will leave the blog and find a new team like you said fool!
Will see Bay at end of the season who’s has the last laughed. Better start planning for a new team, just liked what PrimeTime said to you. You’ll just gonna be miserable like 23jordan..because the 49ers are gonna win the SuperBowl.
Smith just broke the all-time 49er mark for most passes completed without an interception (not counting 60some in the playoffs). I guess that’s not consistent enough when it comes to Smith though……puhleeze.
With Coaches Film being available for subscription, there is now zero value-added to Cossell’s ramblings. Excellent 22-player analysis are being written on Football Outsiders and in other sites. Cossell and take his name-dropping claptrap to some very dark place.
Mood
Wow, tell us how you really feel about Cosell.
I valued cossell’ opinion then and still do now. Smith is coming into his own. Get a ring and he cements his name in faithfuls hearts forever.
Cosell has some good insights, but last year, he was simply wrong on his Smith assessment. What he saw as Harbaugh protecting Smith, or tailoring the game plan around his ‘limitations’ was, again, simply wrong. Smith’s a good QB, who can make all the throws, and is smart enough not to make stupid mistakes.
Smith’s career has been, until recently, held back by 6 years of terrible, terrible o-line play (worst in the league over that span), and terrible coaching.
I’m not sure how many more times you can look at a blue sky and still say it’s green. Just watch the games, he’s playing very well. He did last year, and will continue to do so this year as well.
Geeee. What happened to moving forward with humble hearts.lol. I think this will be closer than we all think. 34-23 San Fran. We will get a late punt return TD from Kyle Williams to ice it.
Freddy P – Way to keep us in line!
For personel reasons, this is the biggest game of the year for me. Niners 34, Lions 17. The Niners run for over 200 yards. Alex will be his usually self. High completion rate, zero interceptions, Crabtree and Manningham each will have a TD.
@undercenter
How will you be handling Thanksgiving dinner this year with your family from Detroit?
:- )
49ers – 45
Lions – 11 (they will get one FG and a late TD w/a two point conversion because our defense will have the back-ups to the back-ups on the field).
9erGirl – No agenda behind that 11 right? Lol
Haha – I didn’t even think about that…I just know you’d be all over me for picking an odd-ball score and not explaining it :-)
Oh man, lookout. You know things cannot end well when Grant writes the truth like this.
Hope the team doesn’t see this. Don’t want them getting complacent in this game. :/
Grant I would be a happy fan if your prediction comes true! I want to see our team open a big can of whoop on the lions! Go Niners
My prediction is that during the pre-game , Schwartz will kick Harbaugh nads and then twist them with his hands. Jim will say that Schwartz has the best hands and foot of any football coach in the last 25 years. The Niners will then destroy the Lions and put the Lions back in the den. Jim after the game, will deny any rift between Schwartz and himself.
That was one super creepy post, Neal.
38-20 49ers trump the Lions
This is another GPS game. This is not only a game we should win, but it is a game against a good team that we can win big.
If we lose, then this will be an up and down year. If we barely win, it will be a good year; making the playoffs, but a very uncertain run in the playoffs. If we win big then I think we have a chance to be a dominant team. Winning the first game is important; but they had been game planning that game since May. Now, can they come up with an excellent game plan and play at a high level week after week?
I think/hope for a win 34-17.
I think that’s a realistic score prediction, especially if the Niners get up on them early.
Sulks. Heh, love it!
24-20 Lions
27-20 Niners pull away in the fourth while the Cubs,Freudian slip, I mean Lions furiously try to comeback at the end to no avail… Handshake at the end will be simple and emotionless cuz Shwartz learned his lesson last year not to mess with JM…. GO NINERS!!!!
*Schwartz / JH : )-
Niners on Offense
The Lions remember what happened last year. I don’t see as much undisciplined gap shooting that the Lion’s D-line did last year which opened up holes for the Niner’s run game to exploit. Roman even mentioned how the Lion’s Defensive line used more looks and diversified their scheme since last year. I think the Niner will be successful running the ball but I don’t think it will be back breaking dominance.
If the Lions are smart they will bring their Linebackers and a Safety closer to the line of scrimmage. Smith prefers the safer short passes. Grant seems to think that this will lead to the Niners taking more shots down field. I’m not so sure. Smith’s deep pass last week to Moss was because of a blown coverage. There are many examples of Smith taking the safer short pass over an open down field option. Unless the Niners are playing from significantly behind, I don’t see Smith changing. I can see the Niners exploiting short pass mismatches with Hunter, Walker, Miller and possibly Davis (though Davis seems to be an exclusively down the middle or occasionally down the sideline receiving option). I’d look for the Niners to try to match those guys up on Linebackers. Also, I think the Niners may use more 3 WR sets and try to get Crabtree in the slot and again in a favorable match up in shorter slant routes, crossing routes etc…. I think Manningham will be used much the same. Moss will be a deep decoy but I think you can expect a shot or two down field to scare the defense and make them back off. But I’d look for more comeback or button hook routes for Moss to get his receptions.
Niners on Defense
Much like the Green Bay game, I think you can expect the Safeties to play in lots of 2 deep coverage to keep Calvin Johnson from breaking off a big play. But as others have mentioned, the Lions do a better job of moving Johnson around getting in the slot to get him some space a better match ups. So I’m expecting Johnson to get his receptions. The key will be for it to be all under 10 yards and for the Safeties to not let him get over the top. So with the Lions having to be patient and with the Niner’s pass rush hassling Stafford, there’s a good chance that Stafford will be picked off once or twice. Pettigrew will also get a some receptions over Willis and Bowman too (they will do a good job but he will win some too). So I can see the Lions moving down the field, getting some field goals, a dink and dunk TD and I’m guessing at least once the Niner Secondary will give up a big play that will lead to a TD.
So I don’t think it’ll be a blow out. But I think the Niners have enough advantages to win the game.
“The Lions remember what happened last year. I don’t see as much undisciplined gap shooting that the Lion’s D-line did last year which opened up holes for the Niner’s run game to exploit. ”
Why do you think things are different this year? The Lions continued poor assignment work led them to a quick exit in the playoffs in a blowout loss. They barely beat the 2nd worst team from last year in the Rams in week 1.
There is no evidence at all which suggests they have learned from their mistakes. Heck, Suh stepped on a Packer OL on Thanksgiving Day after a failed 3rd down conversion which drew a penalty, expulsion from the game and the Pack took advantage and scored. And the Lions went 5-7 (including playoffs) following that loss to us last year. No evidence at all that they learned anything.
The Lions are as smart as their HC. As are we. Guess who I think is smarter and better?
The Lions struggled against the Rams last week.
The Rams.
49ers 427 (give or take 400) – Lions 17
@msclemons:
I think it is unrealistic to expect that the 49ers will score 827 points.
Probably true Claude.
But the 49ers looked really good and the Lions looked really bad.
And the new refs can’t count past 3 (see: Seahawks-Cardinals game) so TDs could end up being 107 points.
“I think it is unrealistic to expect that the 49ers will score 827 points.”
Hater.
(all in good fun, Claude!)
claude
I have no problem if they do though.
Don’t you guys love all the talk we were hearing last year about how this defense could not defeat “Elite” QBs with “superior” passing attacks. Well they’ve beaten Eli (reg. season), Brees, and now Rodgers. The only one left is Brady before they can quiet that talk about Defense not being supreme in football anymore.
Gotta enjoy the ride this year! Go Niners!
Forgot to include Stafford from last year as well, don’t know if he counts as “elite” just for throwing over 5,000 yards. The Lions stunk in the playoffs vs. NO
Keep talking trash.. The lions are gonna put a beat down on the 49ers!!
Really ! SMH !
Lol “true” ha ha haaaa. No such thing. Again were you wearing a paper or plastic bag 2 years ago? Did you use crayons or markers for those tears? Wheeeew! Detroit = garbage.
You can’t teach an old dog new tricks like 23Jordan. He’ll always gonna be a hater and a whiner..and a liar. lol !
49erboy/ want to be man,
I can see that you can’t control your juvenile thoughts. I wondering which one of the double posters are you. Crabs we have another troll here. A racist one at that. Must be prime taking up another name. Here’s how I can tell. Can you spell your in more than one way?? Try posting about football or go to be kid. Grown folks are talking football up here.
When in doubt let’s just put it all on Prime as the double poster.
Grant how come you never back me up when people say I’m a double poster. C’mon man! AES claims I’m
Hack Jammer and now I’m 49erman? Help a brother out man!
23, keep making predictions cause I love reminding you every time. I’m your alarm clock pal, you don’t want to hear it, but it’s necessary! Buwhahahahahahah!!!!!!!
Alex Smith, winning QB!
Quit whining Prime. Grant has more important things to do than check if you are posting under other names.
prime
You need to ask Grant this question when he’s online live with you. It will increase the chances he answers it then.
Thanks DS, I’m not worried, the blog policemen Officer Hack Jammer has got my back! When in doubt, Hack pipes up. Enjoy the game tommorow.
Prime,
You are nothing but a useless piece of trash, and wouldn’t put it past you to post under hackjammer.
Jack
Go away. The fans who are ALL IN are conversing.
DS, Eat my shorts mental midget.
Hack thank you for the kind words, you will always be little pet!
Got it.
Jack when you want to talk meaningful football , come back, otherwise, grap a coffe and STFU!
**BUFFER**
Prime – Were you trying to pick one with me about the avatar or are we gonna stick to football and a little humor here and there?
Jackie I thought oneniner was the double poster. Did you convict him already.
Jordan,
Am I reading that correctly, you’re taking someone to task for using “your” in place of “you’re”? That’s one of your go to usages of incorrect grammar.
You really have no self awareness, at all do you? You are a hoot!
The way I see this game playing out is that the Lions take away the underneath efficient passes and force the 9ers to beat them with long passes. The 9ers may get behind early, but will use the no huddle to create mismatches with MC and VD – they will both score on long passes from AS. RM will catch another td from the redzone. DW will make up for his two drops last week by helping the offense move the chains with two key catches on scoring drives. Total passing yds for the 9ers will be 301. FG and KH will be productive, but neither will achieve 100 yds rushing – total 9er rushing yds for the game will be 129. They will mainly be utilized running the clock in the last 5 minutes of the game.
The 9er defense will stop the run, but their upfront speed will be countered with productive RB and WR screens by the Lions. CJ will catch 8 passes for 142 yds. Both Pettigrew and Burleson will have good games, but will be kept under 100 yds receiving. MStafford will throw for 3 tds and will have 2 INTs while passing for 290 yds. The 2 picks will stall Lion drives in the 4th qtr.
This 9ers win this game by opening up their passing offense. The score: 30-21.
Good times!
Pretty reasonable prediction here. Can’t argue too much with this one except for the 300 passing by SF. I think it’ll be more in the 250-270 range if the running game is efficient.
I hope they do a good job of getting into second and short or third-and-short like they did last game. That’s what contributed tremendously to the victory.
I’m not sure the Lions can take away the underneath passes Hofer. Their linebackers are horrible. In fact, I can see the 49ers picking them apart with intermediate passes when the Lions stack 8 in the box.
I agree that the Lions DL will make life tough for Gore and Hunter so 129 yards rushing is realistic. They stuffed Stephen Jackson (the only Ram I like).
My guess is that this game the 49ers will play more like they did in the Saints game than they did in last years’ Lions game.
The difference being that Stafford is no Brees.
Hof
I’ve to respectfully differ with your here. I do not see our defense giving up 3 passing TDs to Stafford :)
In fact, I do not see the Lions scoring more than 2 TDs. Patrick Willis remembers that he was outplayed by Pettigrew in the Dome last year, and he will play like a man possessed.
I think we’ll see some new misdirection running plays that will leverage the over-pursual by Lions’ D line. I think we’ll also see some short passes (3-step drops) in the flat that go for long gains. Also, I won’t be surprised to see more bunch formations of receivers that confuse the backup DBs.
Niners win 31-17.
Mood, thanks for the critique. :)
My gut tells me that the Lions plan to win will be to take away the short and intermediate passes by flooding the passing lanes with LBs and Safeties. Because the Lions are using backup DBs (as you point out), they can get beat long. It will happen.
Either way, your point prediction and mine aren’t far
apart – good times.
Pettigrew outplays all opposition. The only one that stops Pettigrew is Pettigrew.
Worked last year. That whole LB corp except for Levy was new and Levy had a new position. This year they appear to be far more disciplined.
Hofer
Kudos to you for generosity… I see it as 22-0 niners;
end of first quarter. Once balance is established, every active niner will have dirt on them. This could really be bad…maybe in the neighborhood of 50-10.
Good take on the game Hofer. The way you describe the game, falling behind early, then rallying sounds a lot like the game last year. Offense struggling early, D keeping them within 10, then the offense coming alive.
Given that this is a home game I don’t see the slow start. There will be a couple big plays early on by the offense to get up by 10-14, and then the defense will be able to focus on the pass and it will go from there.
Can’t wait to watch this game. Home opener, national TV, GOOD TIMES indeed!
From what I am hearing the D backs for the Lions are probably going to mostly be 2nd stringers because of injuries, etc.
If that is the case then Alex should have another really good day, perhaps even better than his very good game against the Pack !
Tim
If true, then the Lions will overcompensate and give their secondary more help. Meaning fewer LB’s in play. And then we can run right at them. They don’t follow their assignments and with fewer LB’s, we’ll get lots of big runs. The bonus of this is that it will keep the Lions offense off the field. Stafford will get anxious, and throw stupid passes And we’ll pick them off.
That is a recipe for a win right there.
Great.
He just jynxed us.
He just may have, anyways, if you lose I say you do blame him.
Glad to hear that your coming around Grant. Can’t go wrong with that prediction. In fact I think I’ll go ahead give the Lions 7 and take that bet, and you’ve gotta admit, the 9ers are the best thats ever been.
Seems like Grant has finally seen the light :) Better late than never!
Not since the early 90s have I gone into watching a game wondering about whether the Niners will merely defeat the visiting team soundly on national TV, or beat them to a pulp. Not since the late 80s have I had this level of confidence in the competence of the coaching staff and front office.
Granted Jim Schwartz is not Wayne Fontes, but Stafford occasionally does remind me of Scott Mitchell when he throws those INTs into double and triple coverage. In any case by the end of this season, this D could be the best Niners D ever.
Grant is too young to appreciate the joy of this renewal.
Like someone said a few days ago, Jim Schwartz missed with the wrong guy last year. I don’t think JH will forget that. I fully expect the Niners to run up the score. Go Niners.
HOmer.
Grant
Point 1: They are already one dimensional. They’ll find out why that is a bad thing again this Sunday.
Point 2: If that doesn’t happen, I’ll want a full body scan of our players to see if they have been taken over by creatures not so unlike the ones in the film “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”.
Point 3: Stafford comes to the line and into the game in skittish mode.
Point 4: I think Tim may be onto something here. If their secondary is injured, they will need to account for our new weapons in RM/MM in addition to the improved play of MC and of course our #1 passing weapon VD. That will prevent them from loading the box a lot. And we’ll counter by running the ball a lot.
Point 5: I don ‘t know about the numbers, but the Lions DB’s last year in the playoffs were stinking to high heaven. More than once, a WR was open by such a distance, the camera did not show a single DB in the wide shot on the TV. That is how far they were from their WR’s. They, like their DL are undisciplined. And as a result, smart QB’s eat them up.
Point 6: Yes. They will.
Point 7: you forget last year you barely won, and if Carp had done his job, you would not have.
With Det having 3/4 of their starting secondary out I am really looking forward to see if we air it out a bit. Of course if the running game is working, why go away from it. Look for Alex to be very effective, again.
“Expect to see draws, screens and fly sweeps…”
The Lions 4-3 shoots gaps and tries to get into the backfield. It’s a disruption system. Get into the backfield, then worry if its a run or pass later.
I expect to see a sputtering run game, with some runs getting stuffed and others going for long gain. I’m not expecting fly sweeps or too many draws. I’m expecting traps (“wham”), counter and power blocking (guards pulling). I’m also expecting short pass plays against their linebackers (hello Vernon, Walker and Crabs).
This would be a good game to unleash Hunter. Hunter evades penetrating defenders and cuts back well. He would also be ideal to attack their linebackers with short passes.
Brodie
I read the first part of your post thinking “Well, just use lots of KH. He’s quick as can be.”
Then you said it at the end of your post.
Great minds think alike.
:- )
Power is not a good play against s penetrating defense because they disrupt the tracks of the pullers. The fly sweep is effective because it attacks the perimeter and the penetration from the d hurts their ability to pursue.
This just in from 49IA…no sighting of Freddie P. Soft have been reported.
What is 49IA?
Intelligence Agency
Jed has been busy re-organizing the franchise. Given all the closed practices, I’d say our nations IA could follow Jeds lead.
:- )
Fun entertainment! I sure hope the online can protect better! Hope to see more production from veron Davis!
Only Freddie P. Soft can beat the Niners…
The Lions efensive front is the dirtiest in the entire NFL. If there is any team in the league thet would love to purposely hurt Alex Smith it would be Suh and Swartz and the lions. I say run the ball 50 times and roll the QB out as often as possile. That D line is coming for the QB. The bad part about this game is, Smith knows it too. I hate the games when he knows he gonna get a heavy pass rush. He often anticipates it when its not there. These are usually his worst games.
Much better post. 9ers will make detroit respect the run, but if detroit focuses too much on it…..burn through the air. That’s the harbaugh way, and the 49ers, like the early Walsh era, are way ahead of the league curve. And it’s spectacular.
@23welcher:
I hate the games when he knows he gonna get a heavy pass rush. He often anticipates it when its not there. These are usually his worst games.
The New Orleans Saints say that, once again, you don’t know what you are talking about.
God, I hope the well of made up b/s from which you draw your comments runs dry soon. Your posts are beyond tiresome.
Claude you troll tramp, why do you read my posts. get a life punk.
Claude,
yes your husband Alex Smith has several flaws. You’ll see them this week. have your Kleenex ready, put the pom poms down.
I’m not an Alex groupie or anything – but it occurs to me he might have beaten this team last year, with a 4th quarter comeback.
If that’s his WORST game, he’ll be just fine.
@23welcher:
I found a youtube video of your theme song.
Enjoy
We rebuke you Freddy P Soft!!!! There it’s a win
Last week I was happy with my prediction from 5 months ago, so I will stick with my April predictions:
“Week 2: vs. Detroit. Win. Tough, physical game. Victory with a last-second field goal. Handshake is very respectful. 23-20 Niners.”
However, I think optimism is sensible. This defense has become legendary. And the offense is making strides. Could be the blowout Grant expects.
lots of roll outs ,3 step drops and the Kap,more Gore to just get under thier skin then the Lions d will make mental mistakes.Every 49er receiver will get balls.spread it around they won’t know who’s next 38-16 Niners.
I don’t want to sound like a troll, and while I expect that my lions will lose; watch out for a trap game. It seems like the media, the fans and even the players think they’ve got his game in the bag. Best of luck fellas..
Not a troll supporting your team. It’s all in good fanhood fun to talk a little trash. And you make a very good point. Can’t wish you luck, but I can send a: may the best team win. And a GO NINERS!
What up, StaffordRulz.
It should be a good game tomorrow. Lot’s of sub-plots going in. Is Megatron completely healthy? Can N.Suh play under control and not shoot the team in the foot with a boneheaded penalty?
Will the team be putting out an extra effort against the 49ers to placate Jim Schwartz’ ire against Harbaugh?
Will your team come out here to prove the media wrong?
Well StfRlz, they’re going to need all the motivation they can muster tomorrow to even make the game interesting (lol).
The 49ers are better on offense than last season, and our ‘elite defense’ is still intact. It’s our home opener and the house that J.Montana, J.Rice built will be rockin’!

I found your not “All In” comments and see you pulled another flip flop move. Typical hater! Stay off my nuts from now on!
Class act. Honorable adversary.
Watch for F.P.Soft, trap games happen, and that will be one challenge this year.
GFN!
I expect my team to win! Lions will win, and no apologies.
This*
The Forty niners never do it easy-which makes it exciting but will win the game 24–10sharwtz wont shake hands and moan about the officials. MEGATRON WILL HAVE A FAIR DAY WITH THERE 1 and only touchdown and we will run well and keep the lions off the field. If they struggled against the rams we will win—please dont rush only 3 as the rams did and let them score.go s.f.forty niners
If they rushed three, that means they had 8 defenders against the pass. Despite his three ints, Stafford and the Lions passing game was brilliant. Doesn’t matter if you rush 8, or 3, Lions will get the ball past your d.
If that “performance” was brilliant, it will be interesting to see what kind of showing he’ll put up against the best D in the NFL. Beat down coming.
Are you one of the Detroit Cheerleaders?
‘Despite three INTs, he was brilliant.’
LOLOLOLOL.
“But other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?”
Come on, Grumpy, he did offset the three picks with one whole TD pass.
What is the greatest happiness? “To crush your
enemies, to see them fall at your feet to take their
horses and goods and hear the lamentation of their
women. That is best.” Long day coming for Detroit.
Best movie ever!
Which movie?
Crom!!
Originally attributed to Ghengis Khan; most recently popularized by one of Arnold’s Conan movies.
To be fair, he asked what movie not where the quote came from ;)
I was being pedantic. It’s a guilty pleasure.
Got the tailgate wagon packed. Bout to head west to the great town of pacifica and to the second headquarters. Can’t wait till Sunday.
@Claude didn’t have the time to get the Tee made. Very busy at work this week and had some first game preps to do. Pole M for those who wander the parking lot and want to stop by for a drink and say what up. You’re more than welcome. GO A’s and GO NINERS!!!!!! Deuces are up and he says ……..WHEEEEW!
@ ninermd:
That’s too bad. I would have loved to see it. Enjoy the game. I am envious.
This will be a tough fought game, better not to underestimate the enemy. Rather honor them by approaching the contest with highest effort, which is what I believe the 49er Staff will prepare our team to do.One prediction, no handshake at end of game. The coaches will proceed off the field with their teams.
@ Hightop
Agree with everything but the handshake bit; these two are too f busy to worry about it. I’d guess they’ll go through the motions. Its become a media deal. They’ve got no love for each other, but they’d still try to win, yes? The HarBros love each other, but they’re all-in in the competition.
Your right brotha!

“I found your not “All In” comments and see you pulled another flip flop move. Typical hater! Stay off my nuts from now on!”
@Prime
What is it with you and your “Mean Girls” buddy DS? You guys start fights and the name-calling around here then you run and hide when things get to uncomfortable (lol).
Here’s some friendly advise for you and DS:
If you guys don’t like the “ALL IN” (with ALL 49ers players) statement, just leave it alone and move on.
“Don’t start none, won’t be none!” (lol)
AES
Look at your post. I wasn’t a part of it. Though you throw my name in because you think it makes you look cool.
“Don’t start none…”
AES you freaked out to a conversation between Prime and myself where we said nothing negative about you or any other blogger/player when we wrote:
“In JH I trust.”
“In TB I trust.”
“in JY I trust.”
And you started it to begin with. That is fact. You said I wasn’t a fan. You deserve anything coming your way. You started the namecalling. We asked you to stop, you refused.
DS, while you’re looking at my posts take some time to look at how many times you have infringed and intercepted my posts with Prime.
I have called him out on certain topics and guess who jumps in? I have asked him questions, and guess who intercepts them?
You guessed it, YOU!
Thanks to your constant interefering you two are now attached at the hip (lol).
You speak alike. You think alike. You come to each others aide. You agree on everything. You cheer for each other. And you name-call the same people over and over again. You both seek out and love attention and drama.
Yep, when I address Prime, I address you. and visa-versa (hahaha!)
Have a good day Mean Girls!
AES you are dumb! confirmed blog flip flopper
Address those who you conversing with AES. Stop tossing in others.
Do you do that in real life? Talk with 1 person, but constantly bring up another person as if they were in that conversation?
I bet you do.
I don’t bring up other peoples names who share similar thoughts to you anywhere near as often. I am talking to you not them.
Know what you’re doing by bringing up others so often? Making drama. Then crying that I do is just pathetic.
I have no problem with the term “All in”. I have a problem with you acting like you always have (you haven’t) and you not doing so now (Backup safety being horrible comment you were ok with).
“Don’t start none, won’t be none!” – but you can’t even handle the some.
Stop whinning like a lil b#tch. Nobody is forcing you to respond to their comments.
Sorry to interrupt DS but flip flopper could no describe this individual any better.
AES for the record, you started all this nonsense and would not let it go. We both asked you to stop and said “let’s let the players decide on the field” but noooooooo, you harped, bioched, and moaned and now you look like a little kid crying. Do yourself and us a favor and move on. I’m pretty sure the other haters will welcome your convo, it’s very similar crap to what your whining about.
Prime
Thing is, this whole weeks crap talk between us and AES, we’ve both praised MC a lot. More than AES has even. And we’ve complimented AS certainly more than he has.
He’s using MC as reason to be a jerk. AES doesn’t care for MC. Find me/recall a post last year or before where he praised MC. He’s just here to fight. Like another blogger. At least he actually said stated so. Unlike AES.
I have realized that now DS. My first compliment after the Packers game was to the coaches, the WR’s and specifically Crabtree.
All I have ever said was #15 needed to step up and he has. His play will dictate who he is. I have kept quiet on the issue. However, after good performances by AS, I still hear the same people, make the same critical comments against him, or, like you know who, stay silent and say they still need to be convinced. Who’s the hater and who’s the real fan? Who really is All In?
You coward AES, you begged me to find your quotes where you never were ALL IN with Alex. I found them and now you ignore it like it never happened. Like I said, a typical hater runs his mouth, gets called out and scurry offs like off a yellow rat!
Once again, stay off my nuts, you can’t talk football so go play with the other wanna be’s!
@DS/Prime (hackjammer) / oneniner aka: who dat oneniner, latin heat, shark-men, and the entire “Mean Girls” cast.
Prime, still waiting for you to show me how I lowered myself to your level (when you called MC’ numbers “meaningless”) in denigrating AS bud. Having a hard time finding them Prime? (lol) OABTW, DS, your drama queen buddy (who is now playing the ‘innocent card’ again) fully agreed with your claim (hahaha!)
You two Totsies are the blog ‘town-criers’ and ‘jokers’ (just not very entertaining).
“ALL IN” (with ALL 49ers players!)
I found your quotes, you went all silent! Your an idiot and I’m done with you. You have no common sense and cannot let it go. I feel sorry for the people immediately around you. Schizo or what? Get help pal, your lost!
AES
What is up with your mean girls statement?
Does it matter if any/all/none of us are girls? If not, then why bring it up. If so, then perhaps you have been in your hole for so long, the womens rights movement passed you by.
You’re namecalling with that. Drama King. And if I were queen, I’d poison you in your sleep. I couldn’t stand you flipping and flopping all night long. A girl needs her rest. Not kill ya. Just make you shut up.
Embrace your destiny Prime/DS (lol)!
BTW, I had about 20 people over last week watching the game. Fun with family and friends bud.
You and Prime are invited to come over and see how real fans celebrate. Just keep your mouths shut (lol).
Typical AES
Reply, but doesn’t address a thing he’s asked. Ignores it 100%. Adds more BS to the pile he’s worked for years to build.
No answers. Just blah, blah, blah. Just like Prime pointing out the posts you weren’t “all in” with.
@AES – Knock Knock Who’s there? Smell Mop
Will do bud, enjoy the game tomorrow with all your friends and family.
It could very well happen as you say. I believe you may have set up 9er fans for a disappointment if they do not do this. Will you volunteer for a flogging if Lions win?
Lions secondary is better than you think. They made a momumental effort to fix it, and it is likely to be much better, but you assume it is worse.
Lions offense line gives no indication of weakness like the Packers did, yet you just say they suck. Wow, good study there.
Matthew Stafford has a presence in the pocket and is the comeback king. Don’t believe me? Read Harbaugh’s statements throughout the week. The QB you should be worried about is Alex Smith.
9ers should be worried that this game is a statement game for the Lions with absolutely positively nothing to lose. They lose it and they regroup. However if they destroy the 9ers, please block off the golden gate bridge.
Lions secondary is better than you think
Hey genius, did you forget that cornerback Chris Houston and safety Louis Delmas are listed as doubtful and Bentley is out with a concussion?
You’re not a 49er fan.
49er fans know better than to believe Jim Harbaugh about anything. He’ll tell you how great Stafford is, right up to the final gun when he walks away with his wallet, watch, and nuts.
Alex Smith will puke in his shorts. The guy is a glorified Trent Dilfer. Suh, Avril, Williams, Young, Fairley, Hill, Vanden Bosch, and LoJack will force him into throwing up ugly ducks.
Wayne Fontes, where have you been hiding the last decade or so?
Witness protection. The Lions’ own fans are still after him.
Holy crap – a Wayne Fontes reference?
You just dated yourself Nick ;)
Has to be Fontes. Wayne Walker knows better.

@Prime/DS aka “Mean Girls”
It’s called moving away from the computer to have dinner (lol).
Sorry Prime/DS, my computer is not attached to my body like you two ‘mean girls’ (hahaha!)
Prime, you keep telling me you found some dirt on me, but you don’t show it.
Why, because it doesn’t fit the level of yours and DS’ hate filled rants against MC? You say that you only hated on MC for two weeks so that somehow exonerates you?
Ahhhhh – ahhhhhh – ahhhhh – ahhhhh – hahahahahaha! Whew!!!!
Good one Prime. I must admit, you and DS do provide a few laughs around here. Only problem is that you two take each seriously.
C’mon Prime, come strong bud! Ain’t nobody runnin’ from the “Mean Girls” club (hahaha!)
Don’t perceive my absence as hiding/runnin’. Steppin’ out to lunch bud.
OABTW:
“ALL IN” (with ALL 49ers players!)
Let it go man, your embarrassing yourself.
I dont think the game will be a blowout. I think the Lions are that determined to play a good game. My guess is 27 49ers – 21 Lions
Sorry to say it but the 49ers overconfidence will play into the Lions favor. I see a close game with Calvin having his way and the Lions offense doing just enough to pull it out
Lions 28
49ers 24
Thanks for the big tip Upfrontguy29, that being said I am going to call my bookie up and put 10 cents on that the Niners will lose 28-24. This site has so many functions.
I dunno. Sure, Lions could win, but the overconfidence is more with fans and media (SB predix after one week!). I suspect JH will have ‘em focused, and both teams will bring it.
I could not agree more, this team is very well coached, and plus we really want to win against their weinie coach.
