My week 3 NFL picks.
Rams @ Bears: Rams. Matt Forte is out, so now the Bears have to pass to move the ball and to score points. Jay Cutler will throw it up and the Rams will pick him off more than once.
Bills @ Browns: Bills. Rookie QB Brandon Weeden will lose this home game for the Browns.
Buccaneers @ Cowboys: Cowboys. Dallas will win because they’re the home team.
Lions @ Titans: Lions. The Titans are one of the worst teams in the league.
Jaguars @ Colts: Colts. Jacksonville can’t stop the run. The Colts will have a balanced offense, and they’ll win big at home.
Jets @ Dolphins: Jets. The Dolphins are bad; they only looked good last week because they played the Raiders. The Jets are a respectable team. They’ll contain Reggie Bush and win easily.
Chiefs @ Saints: Saints. New Orleans doesn’t need Sean Payton to figure out how to take advantage of Kansas City’s new cornerback, the former Raider, the Human Pass Interference Penalty, Stanford Routt.
Bengals @ Redskins: Bengals. Washington lost two of their best players to injury this week – OLB Brian Orakpo and DE Adam Carriker. I’m picking the healthier team to win.
Eagles @ Cardinals: Cardinals. The Eagles will keep turning the ball over, and the Cardinals won’t let them off the hook. Kevin Kolb will outplay his old teammate, Michael Vick.
Falcons @ Chargers: Falcons. San Diego’s defense isn’t good enough to slow down Atlanta’s great no huddle-passing attack right now.
Texans @ Broncos: Texans. As bad as the Falcons made the Broncos look last week, the Texans will make them look even worse.
Steelers @ Raiders: Steelers. The Raiders have no chance.
Patriots @ Ravens: Ravens. The Patriots’ offense will be much more pedestrian without star TE Aaron Hernandez. The Ravens defense is still great, even without star OLB Terrell Suggs. And they’re at home.
Packers @ Seahawks: Seahawks. Green Bay can’t stop the run. That’s a big problem, especially when facing Marshawn Lynch in Seattle. The Seahawks’ defense is elite, too, especially at home.

Dead on
Grant, I only disagree on these 4 games:
Chi over StL
Wash over Cinn
S.D. over ATl
N.E. over Balt
Seattle’s defense is elite??? Since when? Other than FS Earl Thomas, who else is on that defense?
Since middle of last year. At home, nearly unbeatable.
They’re ranked better then ours in both running and passing so if they aren’t neither are we.
@Cfc:
To be fair, Seattle’s stats include a game against Arizona, while the SF’s stats include games against GB and Detroit.
That said, Seattle’s defense is formidable.
Seattle, Arizona and SF all made the list of top 5 defenses (for last week) on NFLN. Houston and Atlanta were the other two.
NFC West is one of the better divisions in football this year, it will just take the East Coast a little while to figure that out and start giving our entire division some respect.
Houston is actually the NFL’s best defense through week 2. We’ll see how that turns out over the next 14 games, but right now they are statistically the top ranked D.
Green Bay’s defense is good enough to slow down Marshawn and smart enough to keep tiny-mite Wilson in the pocket and force him to make throws from a pocket he cant see over.
Green Bay is far better coached then Dallas and has a better overall offense as well. They’ll be able to put up more then 7 points and force Seattle to pass more which isn’t their strong suit with their oompaloompa QB.
It’s tough to win in that stadium but Green Bay will find a way to shut them up.
Grant..
Who ya got in Minnesota ?
(care to venture a prediction on the score ?)
Harbaugh a football life next season , important hoping
Time to put a little .. “Led” .. in yer pencil !
Scary – have all the same picks except for the Patriots v. Baltimore. Have NE winning that one (I flipped a coin…)
Oh, and also have Chicago over St. Louis – another coin toss (there were a lot of those this week :-)
Raiders over Steelers
How come?
No Palomalu, cross country flight, and big bounce back from 2nd half last Sunday.
The cross-county trip is a good reason, but Palomalu didn’t play last week against a better offense in the Jets. The Raiders are the worse offense of the two easily, so I think Pittsburgh will win.
This is pretty funny.

Lol @ Bats.
I agree with your pick of the Jets, but not the assessment on them Grant. They were trounced by the Steelers last week with Sanchez being the main reason why. That’s not respectable in any form. CJ Spiller also lit them up on the ground in Week 1. So how will they contain Bush in the run game? The Jets will win if their offense shows up. Having Revis back for their D won’t hurt either.
Packers over Seahawks. The Seahawks have a great defense, but not as balanced of an offense like the Niners. I think it’ll be close but the Packers come out on top.
Other than this game, I am in agreement with your other picks. Don’t know if that’s a good thing though. lol
Rams @ Bears: Bears. Even with the injury at RB, and Jay Cutler, the rams have shown a consistant effort to lose a game rather than win it. They lose this one by 10.
Bills @ Browns: Bills. Self Explanatory.
Buccaneers @ Cowboys: Buccaneers. Romo will be pressured and we all know what that does to Dallas. Buccaneers were picked as one of the up and coming teams this year. Romo just isn’t clutch when he needs to be. I don’t think they beat Tampa.
Lions @ Titans: Lions. Self Explanatory
Jaguars @ Colts: Colts.
Jets @ Dolphins:While the Dolphins might be bad, the Jets are worse. The Tebor echos that are being chanted down the hall will get into Sanchez’s head who is going to come out and try to win this one on his own. He just isn’t that sort of a QB with the receivers he has.
Chiefs @ Saints: Saints.
Bengals @ Redskins: I think this one can go either way. I like Washington by 1.
Eagles @ Cardinals: MIchael Vick will scramble past the Cardinals who are lucky, incredibly lucky to be 2-0. There won’t be the replacement ref help here to uplift Az. Skeleton is healthy again. Kolb is hearing footsteps from the real starter in Az. I think Philly wins big here. 38-13
Falcons @ Chargers: Falcons. I think Matt Ryan will throw two picks in this game but still win. White will be too much for Chargers D.
Texans @ Broncos: Texans. Self Explanatory.
Steelers @ Raiders: Steelers. See above.
Patriots @ Ravens: Patriots. Back to back loses by Bill? I don’t think so. I think the team may be guilty of looking ahead. Sure Baltimore has a great defense, but they have Flacco on Offense.
Packers @ Seahawks: Packers. Wilson is a rookie QB. Give GB coaches some credit for mixing some coverages up. This game won’t be close until the 4th when I think Seattle scores a look good TD. I have Pack by 10 after that.
Re: Wk 3 picks:
Mostly with you except for
/Jets win, but not that easily, close. Miami D not that bad.
/Eagles over Cards in a bangbang close one. Vick is a better QB than Kolb, but if Kolb has fewer TOs, then I’ll be wrong and Cards win. A good test for both teams.
/Packers over Seahawks. Can’t bet against Rogers. Seahawks could earn a lot of respect if they do win; yardstick game.
Brotha
In Seattle, first road game for GB, they won’t be ready. Seattle wins. The only other venue remotely as hard is KC. Which GB lost in last year.
My picks…….Bears…..Bills…..Cowboys…..Lions…..Colts…..Dolphins…..Saints…..Redskins…..Eagles…..Falcons…..Texans…..Steelers…..Ravens…..Packers…this is based on the games from last week and who is home and who is visitor…..
Grant, just wondering if you ever seen Michael Bush run? Don’t count him out and as far as Cutler goes, usually when he has a bad game, he bounces back the following week with a pretty good one. I say the bears cover.
I agree with you on the Ravens. They’re a better team at home.
I’m taking the Chargers though! Atlanta, short week, traveling to the west coast. Not good things. Although the Falcons have been successful against SD, I’m going Chargers here.
I’m still undecided on the eagles/cards and the Pack/Hawks games. I know Seattle D is tough but can they play nickel and dime like we did and get pressure with just rushing 4? If they can’t, AR will find the mismatches. Seattle ain’t anymore used to prime time than Carolina is. I can see the pack getting up quick and taking Seattle’s running game and the 12th man out of it. I can also see what Grant said sooo…
