Harbaugh on Moss: “Just a matter of time before he gets a big-catch day.”

SANTA CLARA – Here’s what Jim Harbaugh said about Randy Moss at the Monday press conference.

HARBAUGH: Randy Moss has been just great. A lot of people talk about the past or whatever, I’ve seen nothing other than a guy who works hard and wants to contribute, practices and says and does all the right things.

Q: What’s been great about Moss’ play on the field on Sundays?

HARBAUGH: Assignment, route-running, speed’s been there. Just a matter of time before he gets a big-catch day that everybody seems to only pin their evaluation on, but he’s been excellent.

Q: Does he communicate to you and the coaches during games what he sees out there?

HARBAUGH: Yeah, not daily, it’s weekly. Most days Randy’s got an enthusiastic suggestion for what we can do or try. The neat thing about it is it’s never a self-centered thing, how to get him more balls. It’s how to help the team.

Whether you love him or hate… this story since 2005 has been incredible to watch. I can’t think of any other player since maybe Jim Plunket that has turned their professional career around so many years into it. Alex was on fire yesterday and just playing insane good football and again NO turnovers. Harbaugh is a god man Quarterback Savior!

Good stuff on RM. I didn’t see him that much Sunday, but I do recall him blocking downfield on running plays. No pancake blocks to be sure, but kept himself between the pursuit and the ballcarrier; good enough. If Harb’s is happy with his attitude, then I am too.
Crabs came across well to me also in post game.

Randy definitely isn’t risking his body to make a big hit, but from what I’ve seen based on the tv screen, it looks like he is sticking with his blocks. savvy veteran player. And I love the quote from JH about helping the team. If we are looking at the whether the team is better with or without Moss, I think the answer thus far is ‘clearly better.’

    The story just beginning…..

    • that’s the way I see it. This is one of the most loaded offenses the NFL has seen in quite some time so really it all comes down to scheme. When Jacobs is back, and James starts getting some open field, teams will go to sleep on Moss and then the fireworks will go off high and bright.
and when you consider that the other deep threat is none other than Vernon Davis, well, it will all come down to OC play calling, the run game, which is loaded, and ofcourse Alex Smith as he continues to improve decision making.
the craziest trump card the 49ers have, and just shows how legitimately deep this team is, Kaepernick is showing signs of Culpepper efficiency in his prime. which brings me back to Moss. Kaepernick is a truly gifted, bit athlete who can buy time and throw it further than Smith.
      sounds like Moss time.

Maybe Randy Moss’ main role is helping the younger receivers to improve. The empathy between Crabtree and Moss is resulting very productive to the team.

Has Harbaugh been reading the commentary on this blog? WHY DID WE SIGN HIM???? MOSS IS A VERTICAL BIG PLAY PLAYER AND SMITH IS NOT GETTING HIM THE BALL!!!!
