Richard Sherman fires back at Harbaugh

First Pete Carroll responded to Harbaugh’s claim that the Seahawks’ cornerbacks were too rough Thursday night. Now one of the cornerbacks in question, Richard Sherman, has fired back at Harbaugh as well.

Here’s what Sherman told the Seattle Times Wednesday: “Sometimes, man, when the bully gets bullied, that’s how that happens. He’s the same guy who said the other guy was irrational and ignorant for talking about the refs.”

Richard Sherman played four seasons under Harbaugh at Stanford.

I thought Stanford players were supposed to be smart?

    • DS94everXev says:

      Claude

It is smart to back up the guy who is paying you a lot more money than you would get at any other job. That is what he is doing.

      • claude balls says:

        That wasn’t my point.

My point was that his likening of Harbaugh’s response to a posed question to Gilbride’s voluntary announcement of alleged rule breaking revealed stupidity flawed reasoning.

      • DS94everXev says:

I know claude. But if somebody paid you “stupidly insane amounts of cash” to catch a stinking ball, I’d do so while insulting a previous boss if I knew my new boss doesn’t like my old boss.

Heck, most of us do that (insult a boss at some point, in our lives) and we don’t get a dime for it. Watch DS9. A nice little rule one species has is “It never hurts to suck up to the boss.” If that means insulting a rival of your boss, then you do it. My point is he is smart for saying it.

      • f49er says:

Maybe Shermie should explain how his Defense got ran over roughshod for 173 yds against the 49ers. And he’s talking about Out bullying the bully? HUH?

Oh and who won the game because that’s all that matters.

  2. mark says:

Who cares about the he said she said crap! I thought you were supposed to be reporting football not an episode of House Wifes of Atlanta.

    • Hacksaw46 says:

Mark,Grant is incapable of reporting on the game of football . He should be writing for day time TV….

  3. Ray says:

Oh my god I really hate these Seahawks you guys cheat and say its part of the game. Jim called you out and now let’s see if the NFL does anything about it…….

  4. philly9er says:

Truth hurts Sherman knows they got away with a lot last game.

  5. MidWestNiner says:

Another reason to hate the Seattle Seacheats. Thanks Sherman.

  6. DS94everXev says:

    Grant

How much money did JH give Sherman while at Stanford? I’m pretty sure Seattle is giving him a lot more than JH did.

Besides, Seattle is his employer now. If he becomes employed by us one day, he’ll fire some stupid comment back at Carroll. You can’t take any of this remotely seriously or else it will drive you nuts.

  7. Nick says:

The next match up against Seattle (12/23) should be quite interesting – lots of drama to go around. DS must be loving it :)

  8. AES* says:

    Love it!
Nothing says the NFL better then a good old fashion rivalry.
I had a strong feeling that these two teams would be at each others throats the moment Harbaugh came in. It’s good for our division, it’s good for the NFL.
Looking forward to kicking some more C-hawk booty this year!

  9. michaeld says:

    Uhhh, scoreboard Mr. Sherman, scoreboard.

  10. Chad says:

I could play defensive back in the NFL if I’m allowed to ride their back/tackle on slants plays before the ball gets there. I’m able to pull on the jersey and put my hands all over the receiver after double moves 25 yards downfeild. How an official can watch that go on the entire game and not throw one flag is mindboggling.

  11. Clipped Toe Nail says:

i love coach but….. I would not have said what he said 2 weeks ago against the giants. then def not said anything after saying that. Kinda does make him look like a baby. My Dad taught me to keep my mouth shut and do my talking with my actions. My highschool coach used to tell us the refs don’t win or lose the game for us.

  12. Kuni says:

I know I know “its not a penalty if the refs dont call it”…..BS!!!!! They got away with soooooo much last game…..I wouldnt be shocked to see alot of PI calls against that defense against the Lions……If I had Calvin Johnson I would start him on my fantasy team…..especially after his performance last game against the Bears…..49ers ALL DAY!!!!!! WHOS GOT IT BETTER THAN US?!!!!!!! NOBODY

  13. Crab15 says:

    PANDA!!! HR!!!

  14. Clipped Toe Nail says:

    “We can do it”!

  15. elGuapo says:

Sheezus. ‘Dudes head swelled after the New England game. He had 1 INT. and 3 tackles in that game and mofo’s acts like he’s the second coming of Deion Sanders or something. Take it easy little britches. You’re only getting this much attention because you’re a media gold mine with that big fat mouth of yours.

  16. Crab15 says:

    PANDA!!!!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

  17. AES* says:

The big bully (Verlander) is getting punked by my SFGIANTS!

  24. Crab15 says:

Marco Scutaro is a well known CK7 fan Hofe.

  25. AES* says:

Easy Hofe. Stop while you’re ahead.
    What’s next… 23J supports AS? (lol).

  26. Crab15 says:

Back to back solid “God Bless America” performances. That cop nailed it, got words correct.
Too bad he gives out those parking meter tickets.

  27. bayareafanatic says:

    Hof,
Well known all Giants pitchers dislike AS. He’s the equivalent of poor run support.

  28. 23jordan/ Smith's days are numbered!! says:

    Hofer,

23jordan is in the minority on AS! lol! go Giants and KAP!!!

  29. AES says:

    All good 23J!
    Just enjoying the moment bud!
Zeto brought it hard tonight. But he does make me nervous as does another player I know (lol)!

  30. undercenter says:

Pagan helped that one over lol

  31. undercenter says:

WTG Giants one down three to go.

  32. BigP says:

Giants with the game one victory, great start to the last series of the year!

    • Crab15 says:

BigP, Under, Bay, 23J, AES – Like Hofe always says, good times!
We need to convert Coffee’s for closers to be a Giants fan now.
Also, why does DS disappear every Giants game? C’mon DS and CFC, join the Giants band wagon!
Hofe, If Giants win it all, I’m road trippin to the parade.
America rocks, Grant you rock too! Niner talk tomorrow, time for Panda highlights all night and check in on Niner blog too.
Yes, I’ve been drinking Hofe but no misspelled words right?

      • BigP says:

        Crabs,
If they win this thing I will meet you in the city for the parade and we can get a beer (or two). The Hunt for Orange October continues brother!

      • Coffee's for closers says:

I seriously hope the Giants lose the series. Last time I seriously cared about a World Series my A’s swept the Giants and given their(A’s) quality of play since then it’ll be awhile longer before I care about another one.

      • BigP says:

        Coffee,
Go Giants! Just think, the A’s probably won’t even be in California when/if that happens!

      • 23Jordan/ We Need a QB! says:

        Crabs,

Ill certainly be there bro. 20 minutes away my man.

      • Chicago49er says:

        GO GIANTS

      • jgwindsor says:

well coffee there is a bit of A’s on the giants…scoottee and zito…
has to be tuggin on u just a bit

and wasn’t the pregame mantra before the game was …

‘get the fat boys movin’ a ding against detroit’s defense….

        when will the bunting begin

    • ribico says:

We want more Verlander! You know, that “unhittable” ace. Loved it in the 4th when Buck called Verlander pitching to Zito the “biggest mismatch you’ll see all evening”…. Then Barry smacks in an RBI, effectively chasing Verlander and destroying that hype for the rest of the series… STFU Bucktooth! lol, I was dying.

  33. neal says:

Amazing Giants game, they did what the Yanks could never do. Bruce Bochy best manager of the year.

  34. SourdoughSam says:

The Yanks really you went there 27 time champions? Sit down with that BS and this is the Niner blog start a chat room if you want to. Not everyone likes the Giants just saying people come here for the Niners or Alex Smith debate

  35. Hoferfan67 says:

You have options if you don’t like it.

  36. SourdoughSam says:

I come for the Niners and to hear 23welcher and Bay bash Alex over and over and say everyone else is obssessed

  37. dangle says:

Zito and Scutaro playing like beastmode! 2 of my favorite Athletics! I still got love for em so its great to see them doing well. And wow, historic big day for Pandoval.

  38. elGuapo says:

    GO DODGERS!!!!!

  39. Chicago49er says:

    GIANTS baby!!!!!

  40. old coach says:

No one was commenting on the “rough play” of the db’s. it was the holding and illegal contact beyond 5 yards. the seattle db’s arent “rough” like the steelers and raider cb”s of the 70″s they just break the rules. sherman and pete the cheat carroll are the only ones trying to make it a toughness issue. it would be like an offense that consistently got away with moving before the snap saying other teams are complaining about their rough play. no not rough play just outside the rules.

  41. Chicago49er says:

Its going to be a special christmas this season! GO NINERS

  42. Brotha Tuna says:

Lowell has a nice read today in PD about the Giants game. (and no, this is not Grant posing as me).
I was sitting in traffic when Panda popped that 1st one and all around me the drivers and passengers erupted in shouts and fist pumps and big old grins.
Oh, and Dockett talkin’ smack? Nothing new there. Go Niners.
