Can Kaepernick bring the 49ers back?

SAN FRANCISCO – The 49ers are down 14-7 at halftime and Alex Smith is out with a concussion.

Here’s the question: Do you think Colin Kaepernick can lead the 49ers to a comeback win? Why or why not? He was 1-for-4 for three yards in the second quarter.

    No.

I don’t believe he has the ability to just step into a game and be successful. He still has no touch on his passes and at the moment he looks like a deer in headlights. Yes it’s a lot to ask but this is what he’s paid to do and frankly he should look better then this. At best he needs a full week of film and practice to have a chance.

  2. Sean in Canada says:

If they stick to the original game plan.

  3. tkamB says:

Well with receivers streaking open he has to see one of them and get a td right? I don’t know if it will matter though since the defense and running game are getting into a groove.

  4. ribico says:

Yes. Don’t put it all on CK. Get back to our #1 ground game.

  5. cUsWin! says:

We need to draft a qb this year for sure.

  6. CEOJoel says:

No idea. We are about to find out. Not a do or die game, so that helps. But still, not very favorable conditions for the kid. Rams are playing hard.

  7. angusinCanada says:

I’m skeptical, but hopeful. He’s going to face lots of blitzes. Hopefully he can make a few plays with his legs. Scary thing is, if he gets hurt, who’s the qb then? Tolzien isn’t active.

  8. LSX says:

    Yes.

Keep doing what we do and we’ll be fine. The running game is looking strong.

  9. Hoferfan67 says:

We’ll see if JFisher or GR makes the best halftime adjustments. CK will probably end up with close to 100 yds running…

  10. Hov says:

    I have faith in kap

  11. Jack Hammer says:

Yes. Now that it is halftime they can regroup.

  12. big niner says:

Well, yes and no. If the oline plays like we know they can then yes. If he has to think too much and improvise then no. We need the other facets of the team to come through; special teams and defense. If they play like they can then I think we win in a close game.

  13. msclemons67 says:

If the defense wakes up the 49ers will be fine. They carried Smith to a championship game, I’m sure they can carry Kaep to win over the Lambs.

    • Prime Time says:

No excuses, Superbowl or bust! Hahahahahhah!!!!!!

      • msclemons67 says:

You are correct Prime. No excuses for Alex and no excuses for Colin. If they can’t perform then replace them.

This is a Super Bowl caliber team – if they let the QB position hold them back then shame on them.

      • Hoferfan67 says:

This is more on GR. It always has been!

    • niner61 says:

Yeah especially in the 4th quarter against the Saints in that 1st playoff game.

      • msclemons67 says:

        Alex’ one shining moment.

Even Rex Grossman had one great game.

      • niner61 says:

Special teams and the D sure didn’t play like a SB calibre team today. Guess you have a hard time seeing through the hate. Not to knowledgeable with that blurred vision of yours.

  14. JPN001 says:

Kaep can bring them back, but not sure he will. They need to get him comfortable, so we may see some roll outs and read options coming during the next couple of possessions.

  15. big niner says:

CK7 will have halftime and the first part of the second half to get his act together. I look for some draw plays to take pressure of CK. You know they’ll be blitzing like crazy.

  16. undercenter says:

I would say we are going to find out a lot about our team. Kap can do it. Pound the ball with Gore and Hunter. Defense your going to have to create some turnovers. We win this game.

  17. DS94everXev says:

If he doesn’t CK has no trade value, and all that talk is wasted. He HAD to get us some points after that bad punt. Forget missing an open WR, an uncovered WR and CK didn’t get the chance to throw an Incomplete pass to him. He didn’t see him.

Too much attention given to AS missing deep passes. CK can’t even see an uncovered WR.

The Rams weren’t going to blitz AS because he’ll kill you if you do. CK though, I’d blitz every play.

  18. Sean in Canada says:

Smith was holding the entire team back so with Kaepernick they’ll score at will. The defense will be better. Ginn will return every kick for a td.

    Heal up quick, AS.

  19. philly9er says:

A lot of you guys are funny who cares who the QB is I just want niners to win.

  20. bayareafanatic says:

    Our tackling is horrendous

  21. glen soikie says:

i hope he can do it im a 9er fan through and through …….we will overcome
