Kaepernick says he’s excited to start, was inspired by Brett Favre growing up

SANTA CLARA – Just after he was named the starting quarterback, Colin Kaepernick spoke to reporters in the 49ers locker room. Here’s what he said.

Q: What’s your reaction to being named the starting quarterback?

KAEPERNICK: Excited.

Q: Are you surprised at all by the decision?

KAEPERNICK: I’m just happy to be back out on the field.

Q: Did Harbaugh tell you if you would be starting the rest of the season or just this Sunday?

KAEPERNICK: He didn’t tell us that.

Q: How did Alex take it?

KAEPERNICK: Alex has been great. Our relationship hasn’t changed.

Q: How has he helped you?

KAEPERNICK: He’s helped me a lot. He helped me a lot last year going through our playbook and how we’re going to do different things, different progressions. He’s been a great help to me.

Q: Did he have anything to say to you today?

KAEPERNICK: We really haven’t talked since it got announced. We just went on lunch.

Q: What did Harbaugh say to you when he made the announcement?

KAEPERNICK: He just told the team, “Kap’s going to be our starter this week.”

Q: Do you feel like you’ve improved since training camp?

KAEPERNICK: Yes, I feel like I have.

Q: Have you improved your accuracy?

KAEPERNICK: I think it’s just being comfortable with the offense and the receivers.

Q: What does this opportunity mean to you?

KAEPERNICK: It’s a great chance to lead this team and show that we’re a great team and we can go into the playoffs and win games.

Q: If you were to sustain a concussion in the future, would you hesitate to report it on the sideline?

KAEPERNICK: I don’t know. That’s not something I think about.

Q: Was there a quarterback when you were growing up that you wanted to pattern your game after?

KAEPERNICK: I was actually a Packers fan growing up, so I always watched Brett Favre. I loved the way he played the game. He had no fear of what the defense was going to do. He was going to go out there and take his shots.

Q: Are you a gunslinger too?

KAEPERNICK: That’s not for me to say.

You gotta like this kid. RoboKap, that’s my Quarterback. Now bring on dem damn Rams and those fake azz punts!!!

    • Hov says:

Hey jordo we finally have a qb!!!!

    • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

      Yes SIR!!!!!

    • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

      Fellas,

Why is this blog so quiet? And why are the Smithers protesting at 4949 Centennial Blve wearing Alex Smith jerseys? Grant, I least you may have lost 200 blog hits a day. 150 by BS and the other 50 from Hofer, Claude,Prime, Ribico and LSX. FDM might be back. Poor Smithers!

      • bayareafanatic says:

You forgot Midwest Niner, X-ilicious and Axel Foley lol. It’s a regular room now. Feels good….

      • ribico says:

Niners winning with Smith, haters a bunch of petty d-bags.

Niners winning with Kaep, haters a bunch of petty d-bags.

Gee, other than the winning part, what’s the common thread?

      • bayareafanatic says:

        Jordan,
Rib is still around. But if we eliminated two or three punks with this move it’s not all bad right?
        It’s a great day : )

      • Crab15 says:

23J – Did you see this yet? Even 3 year old Julian gets it. 3J :-)
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJxVVb7Sv9A

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

Rib is solid. Prime actually shaped up over the last couple of days. But DSL is a lost cause.

      • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

        Bay,

Rib red head is like the big guy working for Frank Lopez in Scarface. When Montana kills Lopez, the big guy working for Lopez is the only man alive in the room and Montana offers him a job!!! Ribico, you want a job?? Lol

      • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

        Crabs,

Did see that bro. Showed my son. Hilarious!

      • Crab15 says:

        23J – Lol……I thought you’d enjoy that!
Hey, I heard the RoboKap fatheads are already out of stock!

      • bayareafanatic says:

        J,
So funny bro…. Want a job? Buahahaha.

      • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

You’re right Crabs. I tried to get my son one. Try are all out. He’s getting #7 jersey for Christmas. I didn’t have another week of Alex Smith starting in me left bro!

      • ninermd says:

        http://youtu.be/TkGZXROwXZo

Love this movie and this part. Got frank when he’s down on his knees with a raider hat on and a 49er background with the handgun red and gold. It’s classic.

      • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

        Bay,

        Scarface. That’s a classic bro.

On another note, thanks for sticking to your guns and your position with regards to Smith. I’m just thankful that JH woke up and smelled the coffee. The Smithers were a relentless bunch fighting for their boy. I just couldn’t roll with them. I still feel like Josh got jobbed, for Tolzien. That’s why I knew Kap was getting that starting job today. There is nothing sentimental about JH. We’ve seen in Alex what others are just noticing. I hated the NinerMd got out of the car with us. We still got it done anyway.

I do have to send a thank you out to Jolon Dunbar for the Rams. Without that concussion, we don’t win the Super Bowl this year. That may sound cruel, but I gotta keep it real. JH wasn’t gonna make the move until we lost in the playoffs this year. At least it w just a concussion and Smith is okay. He’s a little butthurt, but hell, he’s used to losing his job.

      • ninermd says:

Hey now. I’ve had your backs when some would call me out for not calling you two out. Because I thought smith would get better this season. Doesn’t mean I don’t like smacking Smithers.
Another Scarface quote…. Take it easy! Who built this? Me that’s who!!! Wheeew

      • ninermd says:

Rib are changing that pic soon? Can’t rub it in anymore. Maybe a Alex on the sideline with football in hand and helmet pic would be good. Just sayin. I didn’t forget how many times you slammed any other qb than Alex smith. How are you taking this news?

    • Sean in Canada says:

I thought Josh Johnson was your qb, Jordan.

    • Reason says:

      Please.

  2. Neal says:

If you want to be Brett Favre that is fine, we expect you to win more than one Super Bowl, please keep the drama to a minimum, keep your ding dong in your pants and don’t sends photo’s of it to female employees of the team, and don’t make stupid throws and interceptions and don’t give the next Michale Strahan, some bogus sack record and fall down when he is 5 yards away from you. If you follow my advice you will be a great football player and not on TMZ.

  3. Josh says:

Hey Alex! Stick around bro! If Niners get that ring, you earned it just as much even if you are on sideline at the time! You put in your due this year in my opinion. Kaepernick is only playing right above the bar Alex set. Who knows, maybe Harbs is orchestrating a great competition between these guys? Maybe Alex can dig deep and set the bar even higher? I hope Jim can buck convention and make a pro QB corps that is more like a pitching squad in baseball. Alex has nothing to be ashamed of this year. Past is gone. But he’s got work to do if he wants to be the starting 49er. Top dog ain’t cheap.

  4. MWNiner says:

    Watch it, guys … you’re drooling all over yourselves ! .. :-)

Ok Grant … what’s your thoughts for the remainder of the season ?

Tell us … do we stick a fork in Alex ?

    Is he done ..?

    Or what ?

    • pete4mtx says:

If u need grant to tell u AS is done u must not watch alot of football…AS has been done since the RAMS game

      • MWNiner says:

I don’t need Grant to tell me anything ..but ..
since this is his blog .. I was just curious as to what his thoughts were .. that’s all …

u-hhhh did mommie forget to feed you your Cheerios this morning …
        or what ?

    • pete4mtx says:

Oh im sorry its because im drooling all over myself because we finally have a qb that can throw the ball n people are still asking stupid questions about PRECIOUS…
By the way-i eat LUCKY CHARMS

    • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

      MW,

You’re not excited, what’s wrong. Oh that’s right, I remember now,

      • MWNiner says:

        jordo ..
        I’m a Niner fan … period
which means … I am more into the “W’s” than I am into the soap operas …

I’d be happy with either Alex or CK7 …

Of course .. The Kaep does make it a lot more exciting game to watch …

Maybe with Kaep at the helm … my fingernails will have chance to grow back out !

    • Neal says:

      MW,

Unless CK get’s hurt, AS will be odious. The Niners won’t offer him the 7.5 million dollar roster bonus next Spring, he will be a quick fix QB for another team.

      • MWNiner says:

        yeah … that’s true … but ..
        truth be told …
I don’t know how much of a “quick fix” he’s gonna be for another team … especially if their OL sucks..

  5. Razoreater says:

And so the Harbaugh/CK7 era begins. This kid just might be the jockey this thoroughbred needs to ride over the Giants and into the Promise Land.

  6. Crab15 says:

Grant – What nitwit asked Kap “If you were to sustain a concussion in the future, would you hesitate to report it on the sideline?”

    • bayareafanatic says:

      Made me laugh lol.

    • AngusinCanada says:

I think that’s a very good question. The NFL has a big problem here.
I’m not blaming Harbaugh in any way, and I don’t have an answer myself, but the message loud and clear across the league is don’t report concussion symptoms, it can cost you your job. That message is reinforced with this episode.

How can the NFL suggest with any credibility it is seriously addressing this issue when the agents/employees of the owners take actions that clearly encourage the players to avoid disclosure, for fear of losing their jobs? It’s a legal and ethical problem, and a serious one.

    • 9ersince71 says:

Kap is just one bump in the head away from the bench,it could happen, but at least we have the best back up in the league waiting for another chance.

  7. I.P. Daily says:

What’s this “RoboKap” crap??? He’s not a robot, he’s a thinking player witha lot of intelligence to backup his physical skills. Sheesh…

    • Crab15 says:

      I.P. – Superhuman cyborgs can think. :-)…….
RoboKap has a gun and he’s not afraid to use it!

    • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

      I.P.

What’s in a nickname??? It’s a nickname. You don’t have to embrace it. Just get used to seeing it! RoboKap!!!! Half kid dynamite, Half dynamite robot!!

  8. nineruno says:

We have to win the sb if JH thinks KAP gives us the best chance, I am with it supporting the team 100%, am just not going to put my $ on it.

Why put so much pressure on a kid instead of just waiting for a full offseason nxt year.

    • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

Best QB has the job. In Harbaugh we trust!!! RoboKap is the new sheriff in town.

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

        Jordy

You sound like you want to throw a saddle over RoboKap and ride him around town showing off!

      • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

        Nea,

Ill let the team do that in St. Louis this weekend. I expect nothing less than a blowout 31-10 Niners!

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

        Ain’t that the truth!!!

All this pent up enthusiasm can just keep on flowing EVERY single week if Harbaugh prefers not to hang the “permanent” starter on CK.

        Keep it up!

        (Go back to 23jordan)
(lose that /I told you so) – you don’t need it anymore

    • bayareafanatic says:

Brilliant move really. Kaep was the 2013 starter no matter how you looked at it. Now he will go into 2013 with game experience and playoff experience.
      Brilliant move.
I actually want more information regarding Hunters injury. With an aging Gore and Hunter billed as his replacement, we may have to draft a back….

      • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

Torn Achilles bro. He’ll be back next year. Play Jacobs and Boobie now. Lets blow the Rams out like we used to, before Alex.

    • Neanderthal Offense says:

      NinerUno (oneniner?)

he had a full offseason, and all of last year, and half of this year… and in case you weren’t watching, he thrives under pressure and loves to perform under the lights

  9. jake says:

rams 20 niners 10. Hey coach, this isn’t college ball. … Idot!

  10. DONT CHOKE says:

CK better not CHOKE IN THE PLAY-OFFS.

  11. Yomommaluvsme says:

I’m happy with the decision Kap can throw the ball deep and accurate. Something Smith couldn’t really do. Were some lucky fan’s to have two good QB’s on our team.

  12. Nick says:

    Regarding Brett Favre, CK7 says:

I loved the way he played the game. He had no fear of what the defense was going to do. He was going to go out there and take his shots

It’s great to have a bada$$ QB once again.

  13. LSX says:

Glad to see CK7 the official starter even though we all knew it was coming. He deserves it! Nothing against Smith, but it’s clear Kaep is the guy going forward.

    • Msclemons67 says:

I thought Harbaugh would go back to Alex actually. I’m a bit surprised. Not unhappy at all though.

      • drsgrosse says:

He might still go back…at least for one game…he seemed to leave that open.

I don’t think anybody should be unhappy about this switch. I will confess to being nervous, though. Although Smith has some significant limitations, Harbaugh got him to perform well and it seemed that he would not be the reason we failed to reach the SB. Kaep is still an unknown. Hopefully he will keep it up and keep improving and turn into the man his supporters think he is now.

  14. Neanderthal Offense says:

Name 1 QB in the NFL with better upside than our QB!!!

Do it! I dare you to try!

    • LSX says:

Kaep has a huge upside no doubt, but I would still rather have Luck or RGIII.

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

That didn’t take long… why? What’s your rationale?

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

        LSX

Got it. You have no basis for your belief, other than media-driven bias in favor of the diminutive and risk-taking RGIII and the VeryGoodatEverythingbutNotGOATatAnything Andrew Luck

      • LSX says:

Because I personally think Luck and RGIII are the two best quarterbacks to come out of the draft in the past decade. They are can’t-miss prospects. I realistically expect them both to be in the Hall-of-Fame someday.

Could Kaep be just as good as them? Absolutely. I expect him to be good, I just don’t think he’s a sure thing yet. Not a knock on Kaep as I’ve always been a fan of his, I’m really just that confident and impressed by Luck/Griffin.

      • LSX says:

        N.O.,

If you think I give a crap about what the media thinks, you obviously haven’t paid attention to my comments.

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

        LSX

I get it, but why? Can you articulate the qualities that they possess that make you think this?

      • Jack Hammer says:

Kaepernick is a combination of both those guys.

He has the pocket presence of Luck, and the speed of RGIII, both guys Harbaugh tried recruiting to Stanford by the way.

      • LSX says:

        N.O.,

I’ve been following Luck since his early college days, and I’ve always been high on him. Like you said, he does everything very well and will continue to improve. It’s hard to find a flaw in his game. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s talked about with the likes of Montana and Marino by the time he retires.

Unfortunately I don’t have time to get too deep into it at the moment, but remind me another day and I’ll be glad to elaborate.

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

        LSX

Thx for the courtesy. Will do.

I’m just starting to wonder how much Luck will continue to grow. It’s astonishing what Harbaugh is able to get out of QBs (see Smith) and the raw material he has to work with in Kaepernick is just sick! RGIII is ridiculous, fast and elusive, but he’s small and his arm is not as big as Kaepernick’s, plus he is more of a runner and has already suffered a concussion because of it.

CKs unique blend of size, speed, power, intelligence, and future coaching, in my opinion, makes him a candidate to very quickly join the discussion of the league’s very best QBs.

      • drsgrosse says:

One BIG think Kaep has that Luck and RGIII don’t: Jim Harbaugh!!

  15. Jack Hammer says:

Here is an all22 review of Kaepernick against New Orleans.

    http://ninerchatter.blogspot.com/2012/11/film-review-kaepernick-vs-saints.html

    • Neanderthal Offense says:

Nice. Randy Moss looks WideTF open on the INT. From your weekly reviews, how often is that the case? Do you foresee a Daunte like bombing from Kaepernick to Moss at all this year?

      • Jack Hammer says:

On the int, the progression is high to Williams low to Crabtree. Harbaugh said as much post-game.

Regarding the deep ball to Moss question, look for Moss to come up with 3-4 more TD’s before the end of the season.

Kaepernick has shown that he will go with the deep read if he thinks there is a shot. This offense will look more like the Luck led Stanford offense from 2 years ago. Pound the run, mid to deep level shots off play action.

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

        Jack

It would be a shame if Harbaugh doesn’t utilize the incredible skills that CK possesses that Luck does not. He is significantly leaner, bigger, more fluid, faster, and has a much bigger arm than Luck.

If there are progressions that are pre-ordained, but CK thinks he can exploit deep shots, do you think Harbaugh will give him the green light to accelerate his reads and throw it up to Moss?

Last Question: why do you think the Niners have favored small-to-midsized WRs over bigger framed guys?

      • Fansince77 says:

I think RM is going to make more plays. Especially against the PATs.

      • Jack Hammer says:

        Neo,

The first part of your response is exactly why Harbaugh/Roman are running some read option stuff. It takes advantage of Kaep’s skill set.

As for going away from the progression, I haven’t seen that yet, and don’t think he necessarily needs to. He is making good plays within the framework of the offense. We are only now beginning to see the offenses potential being maximized.

Regarding the smaller receivers, I can only go by what I have seen, and he did the same thing with the guys he brought in while at Stanford. The bigger guys are usually less versatile, meaning not able to move around the formations much and that versatility is vital to their scheme.

Look at Moss for instance. He is their biggest guy, but for the most part has been limited to when they are in 22 personnel. Why? He is a big outside the numbers type guy.

One word that I think can describe the players that fit this offense best: versatile.

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

        Jack

Got it. Makes sense. So, in light of that point, do you see the team being able (sufficiently motivated) to bring back Delanie Walker in the off-season? I think if he were to leave, he’d be miserable; because he is SUCH an important and diversely applied component of this offense, I think he’d be bored elsewhere. But players sometimes don’t think in these terms until it’s too late.

The Bowman extension exemplifies a meeting of the minds between two sides, both of whom could have made negotiating more difficult. Is this typical of all the players on the squad now? If so, Harbaugh may have solved the Salary Cap Conundrum by sheer force of will. Does DG buy in?

      • Jack Hammer says:

        Neo,

Walker is a great fit for what they like to do with their TE’s. Will they be able to get it done? I have no reason to believe otherwise if that is where they truly want to go. Look at the last 2 offseason’s for proof.

They have made moves that seemed like they would be big losses, but they have turned out to be good moves in the end.

  16. DClark says:

Hey guys, be wary here, niners pattern this year has been two great games, one laid egg, lets hope we can buck that trend come sunday!!

    • Neanderthal Offense says:

That’s not the pattern since CK got going. The team will not lose another game until late in 2013.

    • La-La Land says:

My main concern this week is just that. If CK7 can get us past that consistent pattern, we can breathe easier. Rams have their longtime rivalry with us, they’re playing at home in a dome, feel they should have won the last game, and need the win to stay in the playoff bubble.

I think we all need to turn the beer bottles with the labels facing forward on Sunday and not get too cocky.

    • 23jordan/I told you so. says:

      DClark,

Those games were with Smith at QB. It’s a new day. RoboKap is at the helm. We blow out the Rams this weekend. Book it!

      • Calistoga Red says:

That’s all well and good, but in the games we lost the D has struggled to get the stops when they needed to. It certainly helps if it’s not all on the D every week to get the W and AS hasn’t quite been the superstar the #1 Overall should be, the D hasn’t been quite as consistent as last year. Maybe its the lack of turnovers, but I think there’s more to it. For example, Jackson ran over the D in the last Rams game and as Fangio said on KNBR this week: they blocked us and we didn’t tackle well.

  17. 23jordan/I told you so. says:

Good day all around. RoboKap gets a well deserved starting job and anchoring a putter is outlawed on the PGA tour, as it should be. The Niners and the PGA tour are in a better place now. Hang in there Alex. We still need you in case something happens, like we blow the Rams out by 35 in the 3rd quarter. Lol.

  18. Highpriest333 says:

I think JH made the right decision. I think Kap will be a probowler for years. He works too hard, and is to talented to not be successful. I feel for Alex Smith though. He has been a good soldier for the team.

  19. Grant Cohn says:

What time is the Steve Young show today? 5?

    • Spaceborn says:

Grant, can you have a poll or contest for the best Kaepernick nickname? Or do I have to wait for Chris Bergman to create one? LOL His fellow players call him simply, Kap, right?

      • Spaceborn says:

        meant Berman, or Boomer, lol

      • Spaceborn says:

How funny, I did a search and found that there are already websites discussing finding a nickname for Kaepernick.

But just to note, he autographed a pylon as: Optimus Prime to some fans already.

Best one I’ve heard yet is: CK Maxx!

  20. elMaginator says:

Glad to hear the news (except about the Farve thing).

Were are too late into a winning season for the Coach to start switching QB’s every other week so I hope that if and when RoboKap has an off day he sticks with him (I think he will).

Also hopefully when he does falter, and he will, people dont treat him like many of you hear treated AS.

All in all Great news can’t wait to see him play live on the 30th when I go catch the game. (will be my first time in so may years).

  21. elMaginator says:

@ Crab15 That video was hilarious. Was that Jordo?

    • Crab15 says:

elMag – That was 3J…..23J’s 3 yr old son Julian. :-) Get it 3J?
Good to see you back in here, did you change your screen name?
Make sure you pick up a #7 jersey to wear to the game.
Brooks, J. Smith, Gore or Crabtree jersey will work too.

      • elMaginator (the artist formally not known as tutomate) says:

        Yeah changed it.
        Thanks nice to be back.

My favorite part about this whole fiasco is that I can look forward to next year not hearing any debating about Alex (I hope).

I will be wearing a 52 Willis Jersey (its been done I know) but I might just spend an extra 100 dollars get the Kap too jersey.

usually I don;t get jersey though until they sign there first long term contract. I guess I can wear a Bowman now.

      • Crab15 says:

elMag – I thought you changed it….nothing slips by me. :-)
Hope you stick around this time, you need 2 inch thick rhinoceros skin to survive in this place. You came back so you are a Rhino. Enjoy the Niner game!

  22. elMaginator says:

    I kid I kid.

  23. Neanderthal Offense says:

    HEY ALL

Who was it on here who said Colin’s balls look like they have contrails coming off them a couple of weeks ago?

That was a great effn description!

  24. Crab15 says:

Prime, Hofe – Where you at??? I know you’re just ok with RoboKap but wouldn’t you like to see Gore and Cowboy get to Super Bowl and win it? Those two guys (especially Gore) deserve to be there. They are both big time warriors!!

I a happy for ck and the potential he brings to our team. However I truly believe we should keep Alex as well! You need a good back up in this league to succeed! Go Niners

There showing Eddie DeBartolo’s “A football life” on NFL network right now. Started 5 min ago.

    • Jack Hammer says:

That’s a good sign. The week they originally aired that the team went out and kicked Arizona all over the field…

  27. Neal says:

Jordan, Crabs, Jack, Nick, Big P, Bay and others in the Kaep Camp,

Here is the deal, no matter how many games we win, no matter how many Super Bowls we may get in the future, the Smithers will continue to say AS could of done that, AS could of gotten us a Super Bowl, its a no win situation, the AS camp are loyal tea party voters, who are Niners fans second. You know that Kaep is going to take us back to the good old days and I am quite happy about it. No more settling with No more Mr nice guy, no more Mr. Clean

    • 23jordan/ I told you so! says:

      Neal,

How long do you think it will take before Hofer posts on the blog. I say he’ll be here by this time tomorrow. How about BS, it won’t come back til RoboKap throws 2 picks in one game. prime is already here. His new name is Mark! Lol

      • Neal says:

        Jordan,

I was thinking about that, DS was saying yesterday that when JH picks AS to start, that show ‘s that AS is the better QB. Just a much a bull, DS and AS mom are the only 2 people in the world that thinks that AS is the better QB, every talent scout and GM would pick CK in a New York second. Happy Days, feel like Steve Young, got the monkey off my back.

      • 23jordan/ I told you so! says:

        Big Neal,

I’m gonna miss BS. Nobody could post the most nonsense on this blog than BS. That’s why I gave it the nickname. What am I gonna do without that cure for cancer he had? Damn!!

      • Neal says:

LMAO, yea Dr. BS to the rescue, eat some fresh blue berries and your cancer will go bye bye

    • 23jordan/ I told you so! says:

      Neal,

We’re in the Niner Super Bowl camp. We’re not fans of one player, we’re fans of the San Francisco 49ers. Some of us just didn’t believe that we had the best chance to win with Alex Smith at QB. all 49er fans should be behind RoboKap and the Niners. we’re going to start kicking some rear end bro. I guarantee you we blow out the Rams!

      • Neal says:

Exactly, when Ronnie Lott went to plan B and left the Niners, I could not sleep for days and actually went to his farwell party and spoke with him for a few minutes, since then, players come and go and I will root for my team, who ever the players are. I want a Super Bowl , lets follow the SF Giants.

      • MWNiner says:

“….. I guarantee you we blow out the Rams!…..”

Yeah… ties are for the kiddies .!!

(well.. except for the red n gold one I wear around the house on Sundays !)

    • Nick says:

      Neal

It won’t matter what they say. The Fat Lady has already sang. Smiths days as the Niners starting QB are gone – barring some unfortunate injury. It feels so good to have a bada$$ for QB once again. I’m going to borrow a line from Hofer. Good times are ahead – this time for good.

  29. undercenter says:

I wont be like the critics of AS, if CK makes a mistake I might note it but I wont harp on it. He is almost in the system for two years, my expectations are high, and I know he is going to make stupid plays like his interception against the Saints. If CK doesnt take us to the Super Bowl with a better team then last year than this turns into a bad nitemare. I expect CK to take us to the Super Bowl no ifs, no buts, and no excuses.

This team is as good as any out there this year. I expected AS to take us to the big dance now I expect CK to take us there. Nothing changes.

    @23J/Neal
Hey guys, you know that me and DS had our issues and because we could never agree on anything with having a blow-out, I found it better not to reply to or address DS on any level. I still adhere to that choice.

But you guys are taking the gloating a little to far IMO. Take solice in the fact that CK7 is our new QB. Don’t besmirch that victory by lowering yourselves by throwing it in anyones face.

CK’ transition to the starting QB position is not about who was right or wrong on this blog. It’s about the team moving in a different direction for what they believe gives them a better chance at winning all the way through the Superbowl, period!

Not a different direction AES, the RIGHT DIRECTION”
