Rogers expects the Bears to run the ball against the 49ers

SANTA CLARA – Carlos Rogers spoke in the media tent Friday afternoon. Here’s what he said he expects from the Bears offense Monday night.

Q: The Bears have named Jason Campbell as their starter for the Monday night game. How much does that impact the game?

ROGERS: It doesn’t matter. I think both of them have strong arms, the ability to throw any throw. We know what Cutler can do. I played with Jason for a while – I know what he can do. We don’t look at them as being any different – they both can throw the ball, they both can scramble. As a defense, it’s easy to prepare for those guys when we’re looking at them the same way.

Q: They have similar styles?

ROGERS: I think so. They’re both tough. Like I said, both can make any throw on the field. Both can stand in the pocket. Both will take off and run when the middle opens up. Cutler has more experience in their offense because he’s played and Jason hasn’t played. That team, they’re going to come in and try to run the ball on us, just because we’ve given up so many yards rushing and because of last week.

Are we into the second half of the season? Yes, I think we are.
Rogers answer, “It doesn’t matter.” is the right answer. No matter who we’re playing, individual or team, we leave it all on the field.
And, btw, I hope to see Jim Harbaugh coaching and Alex Smith starting Monday night. Concussions a real injuries that need to be regarded in a real way. In fact I would like to see Cutler out there for the Bears, but I guess he’s out.
    Go Niners!
