Should Alex Smith play QB in the second half?

Should Alex Smith replace Colin Kaepernick at quarterback in the second half? If so, why? If not, why not?

    Hell No!

  2. domingo says:

Kap needs to face adversity. Speeds his development. Too many mistakes, penalties, bad snaps, dropped passes, muffed punts. NOT Kap’s fault. Let him grow.

  3. tkamB says:

I mean that pick was horrid but Kaepernick has played well just needs more help from his teammates.

  4. cUsWin! says:

No! They will get more flustered. We will be ok if we just feed gore and hunter the ball. It’s been noted that they need 20 carries for us to be at our best.

  5. mr. rock says:

Ck is doing fine. We need to protect better, catch the damn ball, avoid turnovers and penalties.

  6. domingo says:

This king of game is good for him. Things rarely go perfectly for any NFL QB. Let him play under adversity.

  7. james says:

No catches for Vernon, none for Crabtree. Shows our lack of passing production isn’t just Alex related. Clearly. Personally, I think Roman has had another poor day. Grant is right when he says Gore has been abandoned. We need to run the ball and establish some kind of ball control.

    • big niner says:

I agree. BAD play calling today. The drops by VD, crabs and FG haven’t helped either. They need to establish the run. Our O line isn’t dominating this week.

      • Neanderthal Offense says:

Play calling has been fine. Anthony Davis has cost the team 50+ yards of offense. This is a byproduct of a QB change, NOT CKs fault directly, but it’s better now than later. They need to learn to play with him, because his abilities are astronomical.

  8. ninermd says:

Ck is playing a good game that int wasn’t pretty, but I’d bet if he gets another low snap on a play like that he runs instead of throwing the ball. I have a sneaky suspicion Harbaugh is going to put in smith for the second half to throw NO off balance. With Harbaugh nobody knows. Lol

  9. Mike says:

Stupid post meant for page hits. Kap is playing well, his receivers on the other hand may have spent too much time in the French Quarter the last few nights. Horrible drops.

  10. ribico says:

No. Rotating QBs is just a bad strategy all the way around.

The team will be ok once they wipe off their anti-stickum during halftime.

  11. Inside9 says:

You’ve got to be kidding me. If Alex was playing we’d be down by three touch downs. Kap made one mistake only because he’s used to winning.

  12. msclemons67 says:

Alex should take over as offensive coordinator in the 2nd half. Roman is getting pass whacky again.

    • tkamB says:

Breaking News- Jim Harbaugh benches Greg Roman for Alex Smith. Roman last seen pouting on the sidelines.

  13. RednGold1 says:

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  14. RednGold1 says:

Alex won’t play again save for injury.

  15. Crab15 says:

No, Kap’s played very good. Too many drops and poor snaps from Goodwin or we’d be winning.

  16. AES says:

No. CK hasn’t done anything bad to warrant a change. The Dome has caused a couple of time-outs because the offense called hear CK’ calling plays. The INT was off a bad snap and CK did not seem to see the DB.

This a great game for CK to earn his stripes.

  17. Chris K says:

No way. Gotta stick with him till the end of the game at least. Even though I think Alex would have done better today so far, I want to stick with CK for at least several games in hopes that he can realize his much larger upside.

  18. NinerNation says:

LOL. I love how Grant knows how to throw a grenade in the room and walk away and watch the fun begin.

But no, HELL NO. Alex ain’t JOe Montana and this ain’t the NFC Championship in the early 90′s.

  19. tkamB says:

    Kendall Hunter is the man

  20. bango says:

    td!!!!

  21. MontanaMan16/I told you so! says:

    Defense is carrying us!!!!!!

  22. grudge23 says:

Replace the numbers on the QB and I see no difference in the offense today than any other week(minus the bears game, which I said was a sneak attack) so…. we aren’t running the ball and Kap looks average. So is everyone going to tee off on Kap and thank the D for bailing him out if we win this?!?!

  23. Inside9 says:

Our offense is still too darn conservative. Lets throw the ball!!! Good job Delaney. That quieted the dome! Great throw!

  24. Inside9 says:

Hey Alex, off your helmet. Let a little air help your concussed head get cleared. Colin’s laser-like passes should help.
