Carroll: “If Jim’s not sending a card, that’s fine. I understand. We’ll try to get one in the mail soon.”

SANTA CLARA – Pete Carroll spoke on conference call with Bay Area reporters Wednesday afternoon. Here’s what he said.

Q: How much has Russell Wilson evolved, and how much has the offense evolved since the last time you played the 49ers?

CARROLL: We really started out with the idea of not going too far too fast. We didn’t want to overexpose him. We were excited about him in camp and in the preseason, but we really did draw back. From that point, we’ve continued to try to expand as we felt it was right. He might have been a little more antsy than we were. And now we’re really playing football the way we like to play it. There are still things that he’s going to learn and grow into, but he’s able to do everything that we can think of. So we’re excited about the progress.

Q: Was that a surprise, how much he was able to grasp in his rookie year?

CARROLL: Yeah. Sometimes I say weren’t not surprised, we’re just thrilled with his progress. But it is surprising that he’s so comfortable with game plans and the ability to adjust one week to the next. Of course he’s great at doing his homework, but he also shows a real flexibility. He’s not stuck in anything. That really helps us. Our trust in him has just skyrocketed in the last month that he’s ready. We’re trying to utilize him in every way that we can to make it hard on our opponents.

Q: What do you see from the 49ers defense?

CARROLL: They’re very tough on defense. They’re aggressive in their coverage style. Their front guys all make plays. The safeties are ridiculous. This is a very, very difficult defense. For a few years they’ve been just on top of the world. We respect them.

Q: Explain ridiculous. Talk about Whitner and Goldson and what makes them unique.

CARROLL: I’m an old DB coach. I love the way they play. And I know Ed Donatell does a great job with them. I watch very carefully what they’re doing and how they’re doing it. They have great range. They knock the heck out of you if they have the chance; great tacklers. Goldson is an incredible tackler. They’re waiting to make something happen, and they don’t make many mistakes back there. They’re a really high powered group. They know it, they’re going to line up and say come on.

Q: Jim Harbaugh said you guys don’t exchange holiday cards or anything. Anything you want to add?

CARROLL: I heard that he didn’t get one from us yet. I want to go back and check my list, see how that happened. Maybe there will be something coming along soon. If Jim’s not sending a card, that’s fine. I understand. We’ll try to get one in the mail soon.”

Q: Do you see similarities between Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick – their style and what they do?

CARROLL: They couldn’t be more different physically, but their ability to affect the game is definitely similar. Both can make all the throws. Both of them have a knack for getting out of the pocket, and then they do, they’re dangerous. Big plays. Colin’s had some huge plays scrambling. Russell scored on one last week from about 30 yards out, or whatever. Both guys also bring the element of being able to read the option. They’ve very similar and they cause similar problems, and obviously the stature is different.

Q: Both quarterbacks were drafted by baseball teams as well. Is there something in Russell’s baseball past that helps him play quarterback?

CARROLL: Absolutely. He’s got every throw. As a second baseman, there are all kinds of screwball weird things that you’ve got to do with the ball to make your double plays. He’s got an array of throws that just come out naturally. You may not see it for a week or two weeks, and then all of a sudden out of nowhere he’s throwing the ball sidearm and around somebody, or laying it up over the top and in pretty unique fashion. The little second baseman that he was is a little different than bringing the heat like Colin did. He was a pitcher.

Q: If Richard Sherman doesn’t play, would you play the same physical style of play with the backup cornerbacks?

CARROLL: The last couple of weeks we have played some young guys. We’ve gotten some pretty good play out of the two rooks and also Byron Maxwell’s a second year guy. We have corners who are good-sized guys and they run like crazy. They’ve been coached in the same style. We’re not changing our style drastically by changing personnel. We have guys that we picked that can play the way we like to play. The subtleties of adapting to our game – these guys are doing OK. They’ve had two good, successful games with a lot of play time. Hopefully we can get Walter Thurmond back. Marcus Trufant – that would help us out too.

Q: That style came under scrutiny over here after the first game. Coach Harbaugh took issue with the physical nature of the cornerbacks’ play.

CARROLL: Oh come on, that was just coach-speak.

Q: You don’t buy it?

CARROLL: No. We didn’t get our hands on many guys. They were too good at the line of scrimmage. We had trouble even getting a hold of those guys. We were working at it. But I don’t know where that came from. I did go back to the film to see what Jim was talking about, and I had trouble seeing why there was a complaint. He was just trying to get some help from the officials, I think.

Q: Is this a harder offense to game plan for with Colin Kaepernick as opposed to Alex Smith?

CARROLL: It’s just a little bit different. It’s not much different. They run some of the same plays. I think Colin is a little more adept at just the option stuff because he’s run it more recently. Alex was really throwing the ball well – 70 percent completion – he was lights out when he was playing. We see them as a one-two punch. Both guys can run. Both guys have big arms. Alex definitely has some years of experience to throw in all of the variety of throws that Colin’s going to gain as he advances.

I have watched the last three games of the Hawks. Wilson is playing good ball. Nice arm and can run very well. Of course there is Lynch always got to account for him. Too many things went wrong with the Cards and Bills. Many mistakes on their part which is why the Hawks won big. The Bears game they had problems with. I believe Wilson ran for three Tds in one of the games. Wilson does look good but as a whole the Niners are better. Going to be loud, Niners should win this one.

  2. I.P. Daily says:

Reading this smarmy crap makes me appreciate Jim H all the more…

  3. darrel says:

Remember this is the guy that screwed up the USC football program. He will do anything he can co to beat Harbaugh. He hasen’t forgot Stanford.

    Ok…. thats funny

    • Nick says:

What a liar Carroll is :)

      • Brotha Tuna says:

Nah, he’s actually playing along. An excellent way for him to “play” what Jim said. I think he did fine on this, but I’d still like to open a can of Whop-A$$ on him!
I’d like to introduce him to a friend of mine, that Old African Warlord; Imgwannakickbooty!

      • dangle says:

Dashon should bring a packet of skittles to pour out in the endzone when he picks of Wilson again and runs it back!

  5. Neal says:

The Smithers are going bankrupt, they are in the same category as Enron and Twinkies, a real blemish in American history.

    • exgolfer says:

Where did that come from, Neal?

    • Chargerfan says:

For the next several weeks you guys will have the best backup QB in the game. Everyone seems to respect Smith but you guys. Most people who have played or coached the game have good things to say about him. Next year he will be gone and you will have your heart in your throat every time Kaepernick goes down because your season could be gone that fast.

      • Neal says:

I disagree with every word you said, go find a bar and sulk on how bad Uncle Norv is and Philip Rivers. No hard feelings but I will follow Jim Harbaugh opinion over your worthless comments. snooze

      • Randy says:

Don’t know what “smithers” has to do with this article…unless,it’s what we always believed..Neal really has always had a man-crush on Alex..he seems to bring up Alex more than any of the “Smithers” hahahahahahah

      • Neal says:

Hey it is sore loser Randy,

Did life past you buy Randy? Are you mad at the world? Life treating you bad? Did you just pull a double shift, where Kids are King?

      • Randy says:

Neal…you bore me more than you bore your wife…

      • Neal says:

        Funny Randy,

If I bore you, it is funny because everytime I post, your like a troll, going call you thong, because you love being up my ass.

      • Randy says:

Neal…you are boring me again..oh, I have to go your wife is here…

      • Neal says:

My wife is right here, it must be your blow up doll. lolhahahahaha

      • Randy says:

ah Neal…you make it so easy with your tiny little mind…are you sure that’s your wife,oh, never mind,I guess you prefer facial hair on your women..or men..not that there is anything wrong with that…

      • Neal says:

        Randy=Prime=Axel Foley

      • Randy says:

Neal…nope, still Randy..just a guy who hates you and thinks you are a complete idiot..you simply must try harder with your tiny little mind…come on,you can do it..come on boy…good dog…dumbass

      • 23jordan says:

        Chargerfan,

Every time I read one of your posts, I picture you as the the only Smither Chargerfan around. I don’t think youre a Chargerfan at all. I think we will manage just fine without Smith’s contributions. Weve been doing that for the last 5 games. I also trust our coach. We’ll manage next year without him as well. Thanks anyway.

      • dangle says:

get a room you two! At least exchange phone numbers so you can talk privately.

      • 23jordan/ says:

I don’t think Randy and Neal like each other. LOL

      • Neal says:

        Jordan,

Randy is Prime Time, his insults are exactly the same. Hey Grant how about confirming that. Jack asked you to confirm that Axel Foley was the same as Prime when he welched on a bet a couple of months ago.

    • ribico says:

Neal, you’ve got to get over this unhealthy Smith hating fixation. It’s been brought to my attention that my avatar is like a dime bag to a junkie, but dude, you’ve got to resist.

  6. Folsom49er says:

Just checked out the weather up there in Seattle for Sunday night. It’ll be more of the same from last Sunday night in Foxboro but with snow this time. That means more of the same….Turnovers & low scoring with these 2 Defenses. The 49ers need to win the Turnover battle, they do that they win regardless of their 12th man.

    • Razoreater says:

“That means more of the same….Turnovers & low scoring with these 2 Defenses”. Sunday nights victory was far from low scoring.

      • Folsom49er says:

        Razor,

Was referring to the 2 Defenses that will be on the field Sunday night as “low scoring”.

  7. JMartinez says:

Saying smith has a big arm is coach speak

  8. Crab15 says:

Peter saying Kap and Alex are a one-two punch and Alex has a big arm is the work of a con artist.
Harbs is not going to fall for that b.s. Pete…… Singletary or Nolan might.
Con artists are inventive…..They are sneaky, rat-bastard carnival workers!
    Nice try Peter!

    • MontanaMan16 says:

Well Pete did witness live last year that bomb down the sideline to crabs that pretty much won the game for us. I think even as idiotic as Petie is, he probably knows more than you!

    • Nick says:

      Hey Crab

Where’s your buddy Hofer? I haven’t heard from him in a while.

      • Crab15 says:

Nick pal – Hofe turned on me and called me Jordo. Me and 23J go way back and I hate the name Jordo, reminds me of lame Jordache jeans Lol…..
I’m not sure why Hofe deserted me. I did joke with him about the tree that allegedly fell on his house.
I’m sorry for whatever I did Hofe.

      • BigP says:

        Crabs,
Hofer has played the Jordo card on me a few times when I have disagreed with him. He seems like a good dude for the most part, but I think the transition from Ol’ Milky Blue Eyes to CK7 has been rough on him. He is grieving right now and needs time to heal emotionally. Eventually, the nightmares and waking up at 3 am, screaming “Who’s got it better…..Mighty men……caddying…..Manning….evaluate……running QB…..uuuuugggghhhhh…..” will stop. It just takes time to truly be all in.

Side note: Get to BevMo and check out the winter brews, there are some good ones.

      • Crab15 says:

BigP – Good stuff as usual.
Yes, Hofe is a great dude. He will see the light soon on Kap…….I will get to BevMo soon for Winter brews, hope they have some good IPA’s. Thanks!

    • dangle says:

Don’t forget the three-headed monster of Lindley-Skelton-Kolb…. lol, sorry couldn’t resist.

      • undercenter says:

Dangle – no problem the Cards do have huge issues at that positon maybe the worst I have ever seen. It is funny.

      • dangle says:

@Under, Wow, there is some vigorous debate going on below that article. Entertaining read. Thanks for the link.
Looks like (no surprise) each team’s fan base would rather have their own guy. Call me a homer, but I’d take Harbaugh and Kaep over Carrol and Wilson all day every day. This weekend will be a huge test. Go Niners!

      • dangle says:

And Wow, According to Sando, CK after 5 starts is head and shoulders above any other QB (since 2008) thru 5 starts. Good times!

      • undercenter says:

Its looking good for the Niners and CK. I am with you would take JH over Carrol.

  9. Razoreater says:

Carroll, he’s going around your back saying “fock Jim Harbaugh.”
Say it to his face one time Pete. ONE TIME! All bastards are liars, Shakespear wrote poems about them. What should we do with this guy? WHAT! Petey, if there is someone going around this city saying “fock Jim Harbaugh”, what do we do with a piece of sh!t like this? He’s a fockin’ dog.

I’m going way off topic here and I apologize in advance:

You guys have no idea how much your responses meant to me when I freaked out and posted about my wife’s condition here. I will never forget the support.

Good news: Right now cancer has been ruled out. Nothing showed in ultrasounds or the endoscopy.

Bad news: The doctor’s still have no idea what is causing the internal bleeding which is leaving her anemic and in a great deal of pain. To top it off, thanks to work I only see her three days a week. They keep saying “well, we’ll schedule test X in two weeks.” Two weeks?!? Are you effing kidding me? She bleeding and in pain! Fix this you overpaid quacks! Never get sick in Ukiah – the medicine is 3rd world quality.

I’m trying to concentrate on the good news but it kills me to see her hurting.

I apologize again for venting here. I know it’s an inappropriate forum but damn, I gotta let it out somewhere. Grant, if you want to delete this I totally understand.

    • BigP says:

Sorry to hear about the condition, but glad that cancer has been ruled out. As always, my prayers are with you and your family.

    • Crab15 says:

Clem – Two weeks is too long, can you go around these fools? I’m sure you’re raising hell already. I wish you both the best man, I’m glad cancer was ruled out…….Keep fighting for your wife bro.

    • msclemons67 says:

      Thanks BigP.
Grant, please delete this post. Having a bad night. Shouldn’t have posted this here. I apologize.

    • Randy says:

I hope Grant does’nt delete this….and I hope all 49er fans that write on this blog, whether they like each other or not, will save a prayer for your wife..I know I will

      • ribico says:

        Yeah that, Randy.

Despite what we say towards each other, the attitudes expressed here, our internet personas and all that, I am very sure it is not reflective of our real life selves, especially when the rubber meets the road. I know it isn’t of mine.

msc, you and your wife will get through this, i have no doubt – keep strong.

    • Mr. Everything says:

      MSClem

I feel you. My dear mother was in the hospital for the 3rd time in 3 holiday seasons for 5 days last week. Part of the scare was possible lung cancer, but tests ruled it out and treatment has her on the mend. Your wife will pull this out. Just stay positive and ask as many questions as you can of the doctors. Don’t let them get out of the ro until you feel taken care of. And remember, their opinions are just that, and spirit counts for a whole lot.

The fight is a mystery, but your support means the world. Stay positive. We’re all here for you any time.

    • Rebelscum says:

Hey Msl- sorry to hear the real life troubles. Just shows you need to take every minute we have on this planet as a gift and not a guarantee. If we are lucky to love someone and they love us back is something to treasure Hope the medical personal can give you some answers soon! Be thinking of you!

    • Sean in Canada says:

Clem, thoughts and prayers for you and your wife.

    • AngusinCanada says:

Clem – best wishes for your wife. Keep your chin up.

    • claude balls says:

      @msclemons:

While I am glad to read that the doctors have ruled out cancer, I am sorry about the lingering uncertainty. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be. Hang in there.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, your wife and your family.

    • I may have missed the toilet, but Kaep saved the day!!! says:

Be brave for her and give her all your support, she’s going to need your strength to get through something like this. No matter what happens stay strong for her because none of what happens is about you and your feelings but about hers. I am not saying this as a lecture or anything losing family members is so hard. Its like having pillars of your world removed and your entire reality crashes down on your head. I wish the best for you and your wife. I have recently lost a parent and am in the process of losing a second I truly feel for you. Give all your strength to her and by the grace of God everything is okay.

    • Fourth & Alex says:

My mother had the same issue. She was bleeding for years. Finally, she went to Stanford after the local hospital lab assistant told her that even though the local hospital was brand new, their equipment was not state of the art.

Long story short she went to Stanford, the doctor had a suspicion of what it might be immediately after talking to her and got it confirmed after scans/tests within the same week,

She had to get a hysterectomy and the bleeding stopped.

      Hope your story ends well.

    • ribico says:

That good news is very good news indeed, msc. Hang in there. The best to both of you and healing wishes to your wife.

    • Jack Hammer says:

Thoughts and prayers to you and your wife Clem.

    • Brotha Tuna says:

      Clem-
Neither this time nor the first you wrote of this are signs of weakness. The first time you asked for prayers. Of course! What wouldn’t you do for her? You’d do anything. If there’s one chance in a billion that our prayers could help, its well worth it.
As to venting, thats important for you. You have to keep you strong to be there for her. Ms Tuna has had some severe challenges in the last few months too, so I have great empathy for you two. I hope they come to a diagnosis soon, as solving the mystery and getting on with the treatment is an important positive step.
Take care of yourself. Eat right. (don’t forget to pay your bills; I got delinquent on some due to distraction!). Go ahead and shout something rude now and then to yourself. Get it out! My neighbor offered me his punching bag he set up in his garage after a divorce. I didn’t take it, but I understood the offer.
We have Kaiser and it worked well to have all the specialists available and familiar with and to the attending docs. No waiting for tests or going to remote locations. Go ahead and be the squeaky wheel in advocating for her. Be civil but persistent. I’ve found it helpful to sometimes say “Don’t tell me what it isn’t. Tell me what it is and how to fight it.”
DUDE! This can be too much to do alone. My offer still stands for lunch in Petaluma (you work this territory, right?). I’ll give Grant my permission to release my e-mail to you. There if you need it. I’m retired and can get up to SR or Napa too. Thing about being a volunteer is I can flake out any time for lunch!

    • 49erGirl says:

      Msc,

    • elMaginator says:

    • JPN001 says:

      Clem,

My thoughts are with you and your wife. I know how frustrating it can be to deal with health care providers, especially when someone you love is experiencing pain and illness, but be strong and be persistent, and remember that their job is to provide car. Don’t be afraid to remind them of that. My wife has experienced several health issues over the last couple of years (in addition to having diabetes) , and we changed her primary care doctor twice before finding one who would actually listen to our concerns instead of just trying different medicines to see whether any of them would be effective. Now, not only is her primary care doctor great, but he has also helped her find specialists who are providing appropriate and thorough care.

    • rocket says:

      msc,

Letting it out is part of the therapy. Don’t feel bad for doing that. As you can see from the responses, we are all people behind the comments and just wish the best for you and your wife. Hang in there and please continue to keep us updated on her condition. We are all hoping for a positive resolution as soon as possible.

      • Brotha Tuna says:

Actually, Clem, your post has done something interesting. You’ve ‘turned over a rock’ and discovered there are some decent people behind the snarky, uber-competitive, keyboard cowboy mentality on here. But, uh, no slack. On some football matters, IN YOUR FACE! LOL

    • undercenter says:

    GRANT GRANT MR JR COHN

    totally off topic: TIM TEBOW

Been watching NFL Access and wondering what will happen if/when Jets drop the kid. Bring him to SF. Another Urban Meyer QB. Have Harbaugh coach him up and teach him the ropes. No? Why not?

This is one market where his religion might not be the top story. Lets grab him at a discount after he gets cut and teach him how to throw. If anyone cAn do it, it’s JH. And boy what an asset he could be after a year under JH!

    It’s on! Grab him!!!

    • ribico says:

      NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The last thing this team needs is a Jets-style big-top. Not this year, not next year, or any year. Kaep brings more Tebow-style intangibles to the team than Tebow ever could.

    • 23jordan/ says:

Hell NO! I like the fact that we fly under the radar and don’t get our props as a team. We don’t need the attention that Tebow brings. No disrespect to Tebow. Jacksonville is the right place for Tebow.

    • Mr. Everything says:

      Haha!!!

    • Brotha Tuna says:

Ok, I’m just one guy with an opinion, but I think this is a spectaularly bad idea. Not for the 49ers.
If Tim’s going to have success as a QB I’d think he should go to Jacksonville where they love him enough to be patient. His ramp up time may need to be like Alex’s, for different reasons. Some QBs have measurables but no “It”. Tim’s got size and athleticism and grit and “It”, but he’s not a pro passer.

    • Mr. Automatic says:

  13. claude balls says:

Off topic, but I don’t know where else to post it.

Here is a link to PFF’s write-up of the 49ers-Patriots game:

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/12/17/refo-49ers-patriots-week-15/

Two items that caught my attention:

The Patriots’ quick passing neutralized the 49ers’ pass rush for much of the game, but when Brady held the ball (or was forced to) for more than 2.5 seconds his completion percentage plummeted to 32.8%, and his QB rating was a miniscule 26.2. A formula for others to repeat?

    and

    – He may have been held without a sack, but this was the sixth time that Aldon Smith has recorded six or more pressures (2 Ht, 4 Hu) in a game this season.

Speaking of Aldon’s Smith’s pass rush, in my opinion, Brady should have been called for at least 1, if not 2, intentional grounding penalties on two of those pressures. The officials, however, didn’t even confer to discuss the issue. Anyone else think Brady got away with something other QBs would have been penalized for, or am I just being a homer?

    • ribico says:

      From the article

The wide receiver corps for the San Francisco 49ers has in previous years been perceived to be holding the offense back, but last night those receivers played a crucial role in driving this team forward.

That must be tempered with the fact we were going against the passing D that allowed 300 to Russell Wilson, 330 to Mark Sanchez, 340 to Ryan Fitzpatrick, 390 and 3 TDs to Joe Flacco. This next game will be more of a benchmark for our passing offense. But with the likely suspensions, will it really?

      • Mr. Everything says:

Oh boy Ribico, you’re at it again. Minimizing the quarterback’s accomplishments, both past and future!

      • ribico says:

No, Mr Nothing, just looking at the stat line.

Hell, I want my QB to throw for as many yards as Mark Sanchez does. Don’t you?

      • Mr. Everything says:

        Tempered
        Next more of a test
        Not really
        Bad corners

        etc…

Everyone can see what you’re doing. Take quote about WRs. Turn it magically into issue about QBs. Diminish 4 TD QB by throwing out insignificant stats of losing QBs trying to comeback from deficit. Make perfunctory Smither statement about next game being measuring stick. Diminish next game, too, just in case.

If you can’t see how it reads, take a break from this place like your hero DS.

Just more evidence that an everything really knows nothing. Now I understand from their postings the haters can read minds, players and coaches included, but you really have no clue about me. So refrain from embarrasing yourself any further by your attempt at analysis, ok Sigmund?

It’s not interpretive psychology. It’s simple reading. If you didn’t mean to diminish CK with your negative comment, perhaps you ought to consider reading what you write before you post it. Sanchez, Fitz, and Flacco all lost to the TomBradys, so do I want my QB to throw for lots of yards against them? No, not really. But 4 TDs is nice.

Ribico, I really don’t want to fight again today, not after MSClem’s post last night, and I think you’re a decent fellow after reading your post to him. So, if for I didn’t read you right, I accept that.

BTW, “Mr. Everything” is Frank Gore’s nickname for CK, so probably best not to go near the “nothing” tag.

      • JPN001 says:

        ribico,

Please accept this as a serious questions rather than an attempt to antagonize — why do you want a quarterback to throw for more yards than Mark Sanchez if said quarterback threw four touchdowns against the common opponent whereas Sanchez only threw one? Or, more generally, if the offense has scored sufficient points to win against a given opponent, why is the passing performance of any other team against that opponent important?

I agreed with Alex Smith when he said, to paraphrase, passing yardage is not the most appropriate measure of success for a quarterback. Nor, to extend the thought, is passing yardage the most appropriate measure of success for an offense.

      • jsand3030 says:

        Ribico,
We were up by 3 TDs late in the game, we led for the whole game and had a short field many times. Why would Kap need to put the ball in the air more than he did? Its more important that we converted on the TDs than senselessly complaining that he didn’t rack up more meaningless yards. Not putting up 300 yards is an empty stat compared to 4 tds.

      • ribico says:

        >>why do you want a quarterback to throw for more yards than Mark Sanchez if said quarterback threw four touchdowns against the common opponent whereas Sanchez only threw one?

JPN001, that is purely a lampoon on the running complaint haters use to have – lack of passing yards – back when that “other guy” was our QB.

        >>Why would Kap need to put the ball in the air more than he did?

jsand3030, that’s a question better directed at the haters who have been bitching nonstop about JH and Roman “shutting down” the offense.

        >>Not putting up 300 yards is an empty stat compared to 4 tds.

I totally agree. My whole point of my original posting was a comment from the original article about the success our WRs had in Sunday’s game. Yes they did, but why was that? It was not addressed in the article at all. I suggested that NE’s 29th ranked pass defense likely played a part. Then the usual suspects jump on board claiming that I’m somehow trashing Kaep. Hey Everything, if you want to see trashing of Niner QB’s I suggest you take a couple of hours and reread these blogs starting from last year.

      • ribico says:

        >>BTW, “Mr. Everything” is Frank Gore’s nickname for CK, so probably best not to go near the “nothing” tag

Yes, that’s a good name for CK who has had the performance to earn it. Not such a good one for a blogger who’s not had the postings to to earn it.

You are a negative, hateful fool. Feel free to reply however you like, but don’t mistake yourself for anything with intelligence. “Lampoon!” You got shown up again, as usual, and changed your tune. You’re no better than DS.

        Oh Merry Christmas, Mr.

Or is it a National Lampoon Christmas?

      • JPN001 says:

Thank you for the clarification, ribico, and I am chagrined that I did not recognize your post for what it was.

You read the moron’s post correctly. He was rightly called out for it and then changed his tune because he’s a smug b*stard. Don’t be chagrined. Just be aware that the Smither Ribico will never be honest.

Take alook at this article on a comparison between Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick before the draft last year. Kap has always been the guy! Some of us didn’t know.

Why must you try to start a Alex debate every chance you get? Its over man get over it. The view is better from the high road. Just enjoy the fact you were “right” and don’t rub it in.

That my opinion anyway, take it or leave it.

Like Harbaugh’s press conferences, these conference calls with local media are totally worthless. All they do is say how good a football team they’ll be playing on Sunday. The opponent could be Jacksonville, and we’d get the, “they’re a real good football team” crap. We only get the REAL stuff from the locker room, after a game.

    • Brotha Tuna says:

Just cheap TV bubble gum hype, like the weigh-ins before a boxing match. Kabuki Theater supposed to excite interest. But the participants do the opposite, hoping to avoid inciting the other team with bulletin board material they try to hip-mo-tize the other team with praise and dodge any meaningful questions. Any wonder the coaches don’t like it?

I think that there may be a difference in YAC between Kaep and the other qb. Some one may want to check this out. I recall the other qb throwing back breakers to Crabtree all the time.
