The 49ers are going to absolutely handle the Rams in St. Louis on Sunday.
The Rams offense is going to come out running, like it did a few weeks ago against the Niners.
That strategy worked for the Rams the first time. It will not work on Sunday. The 49ers will shut down Steven Jackson and Daryl Richardson from the beginning of the game.
As a result, the Rams offense will quickly become one-dimensional. Sam Bradford will have to drop back and wing it, so he’s going to get pressured, hit and sacked.
Bradford won’t be able to avoid the pressure by dumping the ball to his safety valve – Danny Amendola. Amendola has an injured heel and he hasn’t practiced all week. If he plays, he will not be 100 percent healthy.
On the other side of the ball, Frank Gore is going to have a monster game, and so is Vernon Davis, and so is Colin Kaepernick.
The final score will be 35-6.
How do you see the game unfolding?

49ers RSS feed
I see a big win with our defense and offense, they will be jack and turbo kaep will have a 300 yr game and the Smitherines won’t know what hit them.
HAHAHAHAHA Seriously? 49ers fans are STUPID. How does that butt whooping feel like?
I’ll take the Rams 23-21. They are treating this game like an extension of the tie game and Fisher is too good a coach to let a newbie run wild on them.
oh and we have chop liver as our head coach.
Oh Jimmy, i hope to god your team underestimates the 49ers based on how they played last time. This is not going to be the same team!!! GO NINERS
Niners 17-13. I hope we blow them out, but an intra-division game on the road against an improving team, a 2nd glimpse of Kaep, gives me some pause. Hope i’m proven wrong.
Your concerns are valid. I’m worried too. But I’m pretty sure we will win. I don’t expect a blow -out but one would be great.
Ruh roh, another of the swammi Grant’s blow out win predictions. This doesn’t bode well for the defense.
Forget the style points, and just win. The spread is for gamblers. How about 17 – 13.
The replacement of a winning QB suggests style points do in fact matter.
2-0 so that means ck is a winning qb. A win is a win. So shut your fat face bs. Harbaugh picked ck the better qb. Get over it. And eat crow!
DS, I know breaking up is hard to do, but it’s time let go and enjoy the Super Bowl run with a prolific QB. Harbaugh I trust. That don’t count for AS?
http://blog.azcardinals.com/
Have fun in your new home.
This just in: Shefter says the Rams will win. What does that say?
How will the game unfold? RotoKrap will throw a pick early, he will fumble early in the 2nd qtr trying to avoid pressure instead of smartly securing the ball and taking the sack. After a pick 6 just before the half, the 9ers will be down 19-6. JH is seen on the sidelines on his knees in front of AS, looks to be begging!
Enter Alex Smith! Smith lights it up going 19-20 and 2 tds and and a FG late gives the 9ers a 23-19 win as the defense is sparked by AS returning and shuts them down! QB controversy is over. Bay, Jordo and md last seen talking to the GM and coach.
On a more serious note. Without Amendola, we should win this game. “RoboKap” should get his third win but the Rams safeties suck bad in coverage meaning we need to go to VD early and often and I predict we do.
Look at MontanaMan’s post.
People wonder why I refer to Alex as the Precious?
Are you sure you aren’t a UtahMan?
I think you missed the last paragraph:
“On a more serious note.”
They do, which is why Dan Marino is a certifiable hall of famer and TrentAlex DilferSmith is not.
It was a joke Clemons.
Here we go DS with the bs. GO NINERS
Then why replace him? Style is the only difference so far. Points/yards..CK isn’t doing any better so far.
msc
How’s it going?
DS if you are going to post at least get your facts straight. 1st quarter scoring. AS 3.2 points. CK 8.5 points.
So BS are you done being a Niner fan? This isn’t an experiment it’s a new direction.
Relish being the 2nd least popular in the room?
go away bay.
“shut your fat face”. .. Childish, moronic, and Really really funny
Montanaman…. Unlike bs. I trust who Harbaugh puts in. Whether its Smith or CK. show me a post where that differs.
Fesnyc, I agree. In addition, we need our special teams to be prepared for those dang trick plays that killed us. If Amendola does not play, its going to be a long day for their offense, which means Kap and the crew will get a lot of opportunities. I do not think it will be a blowout, but I hope I am wrong. As long as we get a “W” and stay healthy I am more than happy.
It’s going to be a great game, but nothing like their first meeting. Kaepernick won’t let the defense get to him the way Alex did and you cant compair Kaep coming off the bench in the tie with practicing with the 1st team for 3 weeks and 2 winning starts.
The 9ers defence will show up this time.
9ers 35 Lambs 17
Did you say Lambs? Awwww, the Lambs are undefeated in the division. 4-0-1. Sit down and shut your mouth.
I agree with the blow-out, but though Gore will go over a thousand, the total run yardage will be divided among the other RB’s to get a 150+ total. But the real stars are going to be Kaepernick (300+), MM and Crabtree getting yardage in the air and YAC. VD will score, but not have a large total of receptions or yardage. Moss will do the same as Kaepernick puts one up for him in the endzone. Lastly, the defense has another monster game with turnovers and sacks as well as shutting down the Rams run game. Cowboy runs amok this game with Aldon adding to his total on the way to getting the sack record.
Just to clarify, I’m predicting that Gore gets over 86 yards to get to a thousand over the season.
Sorry. He didn’t even get 60 yards LMAO RAMS OWN 49ERS EVERY TIME. What blowout??? Rams OWN the division
I was going to predict a solid 9er win before Grant predicted a blowout. It seems to me but i could be wrong but almost everytime Grant has gone out on a limb this year and predicted a 9er blowout it has’nt been good for the 9ers. I’ve even thought of inviting Grant to Reno with me and just going with the opposite of his blowout predictions. All that being said against my better judgement I’m going with Grant i think it will be a 9er blowout. Grant you should really think about opening a Computer tout site. How bout http://www.pick theoppositeofgrant.com
This is my stone cold lock of the week.
Steven Jackson will NOT rush for 100 in fact I think he’s have closer to half of that.
Our special teams will not fall for trick plays this week.
Amandola is not 100% meaning a weak Rams offense will have to find another play maker to step up.
Kaepernick did not have time to game plan last time. Came in cold.
In games so far that Kaepernick has started, the Niners have won 32-7 and 31-21. Considering that Ginn gifted the Saints a TD, that score should have been 31-14.
The Rams are less dynamic than the Saints and our defense is taking a page from the Giants and peaking halfway through the season. Therefore, my prediction this game is 31-13 Niners.
I hope you are right Bay but this is not going to be a closer game. It would be nice if we can blow them up.
sorry i meant to say its going to be a closer game
I dont think the team comes out flat against the Rams this time. The defense has a bitter taste in their mouth from being embarrased in the last game against the Rams. In fact the defense will play their best game of the year. Special teams will not falter in this game. 31 – 0.
Undercenter, you got me fired up. I’m changing my score to 31-6.
I believe we bend but don’t break on two drives. We give up two field goals.
I agree Under. The QB this week could be Tim Rattay and it would still be a blowout. When this defense is fired up they are scary. After the embarrassment last time I think they’ll be fired up.
24-7 Niners
Gore will rush over 100 yards and have two touchdowns and CK will throw for one to Moss. The two wildcards for this game is the offensive gameplan of both teams. It will be a struggle in the first half, but the Niners should pull away in the second half.
A blow out is definitely in order.
Kaep is ready to show Harbaugh that he made the right decision.
Ck throws for 300 yards, 3 td’s 1 running. The rb’s gain 118 yards. The defense starts fast and give up some yards but not points the 49ers win 31-10 and bs finds another reason to claim smith did something better than ck did. And will disappear till the smoke clears.
Exactly you hear that AS could of done that, it’s like the smith critics put kaep as the starter, not JH
Let’s say the Niners destroy the lambs tomorrow, what are you going to say oh brave one behind your key board
wow. such a great comeback. what are you going to say yourself if we don’t blow out the Rams tomorrow yourself “oh brave one” behind your your keyboard? I’m not a chicken hiding behind a keyboard like you. I’ll admit I was wrong, by typing in the words “I was wrong”…You seem kinda like a little bit of a coward and will make up some excuse like “well, Grant said they we were going to blow them out” and he is never wrong, “I’m just a clone and repeat everything he says or believes so I said it too. It’s his fault” ComeOn’ man, be somebody, and stand up and admit that you don’t know anything about football and only rely on Grant because he and his dad spend a lot of time with the 49ers and ask the tough questions. I’ll meet you behind the school house…and my dads alot tougher than yours. He knows Karate.
27-10
Jack – Who? Lol
Adam – It’s just one of those “ding-dong ditch” kids.
“The final score will be 35-6.”
I like that, Grant.
I was actually thinking of going conservative this week (21-14) due to the last meeting. But… considering we had that exra-long layoff and we looked soft the first time around I think a blowout might be in order.
I’ll up it a bit and go 28-7.
Niners by 114 — 3. You saw it here…
Len Deez is squealing like a child.
Instead of deleting posts could you just edit them to say [Deleted]? Totally messes up the threads.
Deleted or Kaepernated?
That’s evil but I like it.
DeKaepernated
Absolutley a blowout.I predict “The Golden Boy, RoboKap” has at least 400 yards passing 100 rushing,4 passing and 2 rushing TDs and 1 pic 6 after his punt return for a touchdown. So that makes it 48 to 0 because the defense is so inspired by his magnetizm and charisma that they refuse to let mere football players score against a team led by “The Golden Boy ,RoboKap”.That is unless they decide it is below thier talent level to go for the 1 point conversion ,in which case”The Golden Boy RoboKap” runs all conversions in to make the final score 56 to 0
woops so much scoring abacus wouldn’t go that high make it 56 or 64
9ersince71 – If RoboKap plays that good tomorrow Jessica Simpson’s going to be stalking him.
Or all of the Kardashians
Who came up with RoboKap?
Terrible nickname. :/
that would be that 23 and what ever he decides to put with it guy.
Don’t like it either, I am calling him Turbo Kaep.
Givens is the Ram I’d be on alert for.
I agree with MidWest ..
Randy Moss will get the one he didn’t get last week !
31- 6 (Niners)
49ers 20-17 Rams have their own refs, y’know
I don’t see blow out. I see a 49ers close win. Where do you come up with this blowout theory…especially how well they played us at home? If Kaep is going to struggle in a game this season it will be this one. The Rams have already seen Colin in action and have now been preparing against him from Wednesday on. They have two very good D backs, in Cortland F. and J. Jenkins.. a great pass rush with Long and two great linebackers in Lauranaitus and J. Dunbar. Playing at par with the 49ers at home was no fluke. One problem might be that our focus all week long could be is in the thinking we have to stop S. Jackson…what if all the sudden the Rams throw a heavy dose of D. Richardson at us. Fischer is a great coach. All I think we really know or will be supremely confident for is in stopping the fake punt.
As far as the QB controversy…Harb’s is playing this divided time between the two smart QB’s very smart. Really. it was Harbaugh’s plan all season to play the two together and at different times and points in games and through out the season. It was working until CK would occasionally come in and mess with Alex’s phsyci and tempo. Harbaugh will know in the next three weeks who has the best chance to take the Niners to the Superbowl. If it’s Alex …he can easily just insert him back into the line-up before our first playoff series….no harm no foul, right? Maybe, Harbaugh knows however it’s really going to take both. However, after this game and another against the Dolphins, Kaep will probably be playing the team he would face in the Superbowl. Harbaugh is taking alot of heat right now for how he handled this whole QB Cluster-duck but the way I look at it this is Kaep’s chance to get experience and his official tryout for the play-offs. Harbaugh already knows what he has in Alex…up until now the only unproven was Kaep and if he had what it would take to win in the play-offs and without some on field Q Backing, Coach Harbs would of never know.
Now he has the best of both worlds. A green QB who now has real game time experience, and another who is as mad as hell and wants nothing else to prove, plus the fact he has already proven if in case called upon…he has a proven winner. Now both QB’s, either one, no-matter what happens…injury, or opponent…the 49ers are set, prepared and ready this time around.
The problem with what Harb’s is doing will be the ramifications for next year. If Colin falls flat on his face – we will no longer have Alex to fall back on as in years past. Prentend Harbaugh is playing a poker game (which he would really be good at by the way) never letting the opponent know what cards he’s holding…Well next season every coach will know Harbaughs only hand will be a straight flush of Colin, Colin, Colin, Colin and Colin.
Colin is our QB next year because…Alex will have moved on. he trust, Coach’s praise, the loyolty Alex thought was in his corner was just a facade. I have to laugh thinking back on Alex carrying Jim’s golf bag…and not only that but there was Alex standing up on in front of millionns on National TV to give Harbaugh’s (well received), Coach of the year award. What else would of Alex done if Coach had asked? Who knows? Alex with Harbs at the parade, often times doing those things for Jim “the man”, not the Coach that Harbaugh used Alex for. As much and most people don’t realize that Jim needed Alex and helped add to harbaugh’s success, just as much Alex needed harbaugh to get what he got….which now Alex can use to his advantage….a hand of poker he can now parlay to win a the “pot of chips” for himself. Maybe if Coach would of handled this transition or changing of the guard so to speak of the 49er Quarterbacking future. Alex would of continued to be the loyal good soilder. Whatever was once there between the two, the “good will”, “trust”, “committment to team”, the understanding and the direction of the Niners going forward partnership is gone, wiped out, simply flushed down alongside with spirialing toilet bowl water.
I suspect G. Roman will get a new head coaching job for some one in the NFL next year. The Niners have been too good, the success happened nearly overnight, and other NFL teams have to be asking themselves…how did they do it? And, you can’t reason that all of this and every good thing happened because of Harbaugh and Harbaugh alone. It happens every season and this season will be no different, general managers and owners will want a peice of San Francisco’s success or at least some insight into how it happened and some of it’s components. Harbaugh is untouchable so what is the next best thing of the “49er’s success model” can an clueless, rTHWE be winning – NFL franchise get it’s hands on? I suspect it’s not a what, rather it’s a who… and that who is Greg Roman. Romans cell phone number is already on speed-dial. The question shouldn’t be, I wonder if we could actually lose Greg Roman to another team, the question rather is when? how soon? and who the team will be? I suspect that when Roman accepts his new head coaching job the first person and maybe the most important person the Greg will want to be a part of his team will be Alex Smith.
Despite all the seasons Alex has played( and I know it seems like a fewe thousand) Alex is only 28 years old. When you’re a 28 year old QB in the NFL you are in the first stages of your prime. Alex already knows Greg Roman’s offense, he knows how to execute it, according to Harbaugh he has already became a “master of it” and if GR were to be in the difficult spot of winning right away and who the single most important person for Greg Roman to make it happen would have to be Alex Smith.
What matters the most to everyone in the 49er’s organization right now, especially with a new stadium and the players under constract right now? It’s a no-brainer…the ultimate prize in the poker game of life that is…A SUPERBOWL VICTORY. and no not next year or maybe the year after that, just being good anymore is not good enough anymore. I applaud, agree and am excited with every decision Coach Harbaugh has made and every personal adjustment included to acheive the means to this end. Harbaugh’s choice to go with Colin at this point in the season, Constroversial? Yes. Risky? Yes. Brillliant? Yes. Dumb, without thought, merit and self doubt on Harbaughs part? Absolutelly not. Winning the Superbowl is not just something…it’s EVERYHING, and it’s window of oppurtunity is closing just as fast almost as it seemed to have opened. Harbaugh is such a good coach because he knows this better than anyone else out there.
Harbaugh is under some ctiticism for his reasoning and decision for playing Kapernick right now. He deserves none of it, and those questioning him have no idea what Harbaugh is up against and what he is trying to do.
The only reason he is being questioned about it is because are all the reasons its so genuis. Harbaugh understands one thing better than maybe anyone else out there to win a Championship. Harbaugh understands “Time”
The clock talked loud. I threw it away, it scared me what it talked.
The clock talked loud. I threw it away, it scared me what it talked.
“The present is a point just passed” David Russell
“The clock talked loud. I threw it away, it scared me what it talked” Tillie Olsen
“Time has a way of demonstrating that the most stubborn are the most intelligent” Yevgeny Yevtushencko
And as far as those questioning Coach harbaugh’s decision to go with Colin Kaepernick right now…might need to think
“Time is the school in which we learn, time is the fire in which we burn” Mark Helpin…and for just one last reason…
There’s time enough, but none to spare” Charles W. Chestnutt
Harbaugh knows he needs both Quarterbacks to be ready.
Re: Alex being called in, in case of an injury or implosion, you wrote, “no harm no foul, right?”
Do you really think no harm has been done, from Alex’s perspective? If he’s called upon again, I’d expect he’ll go out there and give it every ounce of effort he’s got; we’ve never seen him do less. But it’s very, very hard to imagine he’d go out with the same attitude, after all that’s happened. I don’t know if that would make a difference in his play or not.
49ers 28 – 25 Rams. I’m being hopeful, not a homer.
We have yet to break our pattern of losses, but I’m hoping we stop the repeat of history by having CK7 start. Missing Kendall and KW, plus they have Jenkins this time. Big worry is Akers.
I’m no so sure about a 49ers blowout for several reasons including…
- The pattern this year is win, win, flop (Vikings), win, win, flop (NY Giants), win, win flop (Rams), win, win… the 49ers are due for their next flop.
- Amendola has been in walking boots mid week before and played the following Sunday.
- Givens and Jenkins will play Sunday (unless they get suspended again)
- It’s a 10:00 am game.
- The 49ers are talking about how they were flat against the Rams. They are sounding overconfident.
- Dobbs is out and that could hurt special teams
- Hunter and Williams will be hard to replace. It will take AJ Jenkins, James and Jocobs a few games to get into rhythm.
I’m predicting a close win by the 49ers.
i can see the niners blowing them out, last time kaep had to come in and do his thing, didn’t split reps with alex but this time around he got the reps and just look at his past performances, i can see frank having a monster game and i would like to see moss have a big game, time for them to step up
I am most likely too late to the game here, but I disagree with Grant on stopping the run…or at least, it’s my biggest worry. Take a look at the backs we’ve had a hard time with. Power backs who run down hill.
The Niners are great against speed backs. Give us those all day long. We contain them or have the speed to make up for it if we mess up a tad and they are easy to bring down. Some one like Jackson, Peterson, Lynch and yes, even Bradshaw kept getting consistent yards against the front 7. Always leaning forward even on the carries we “stuffed them” they got 3 yards, making the next down, just that much easier and keeping us from rushing the passer aggressively.
Prediction the only thing that will be blown out will be your sphincter after you try and force all the pooh you are full of out. This will be a close game hopefully the niners are up to it and hopefully we have no more injuries.
W is a W, and the rams are always up for us, no blowout but a hard fought, Kap with a game winning drive to put the game away in the fourth win…
ps. Miss me some acme sourdoug
Niners to blow out the Rams? HAHAHA. Niners suck!!!!!!!
I had to come back here and tell Grant – stop your sorry ass lame predictions.
Please.
