Three keys to the game for the 49ers and the Falcons

This is the opening to my Saturday article on the keys to the game for the 49ers and the Falcons.

The Falcons need a miracle to beat the 49ers this Sunday. That’s the consensus of NFL critics. The Falcons need a fire alarm to go off in the 49ers’ hotel at 3 a.m. They need the entire 49ers team — players and coaches — to evacuate the building and catch the flu as they stand outside shivering in their pajamas.

Forget that. The Falcons are a terrific team, a 14-win team with pride. If they can accomplish the following three keys to the game, they will have a puncher’s chance to beat the 49ers.

1. Be the aggressor

The 49ers are the Mike Tyson of the NFL. They hurt teams and they scare them, sometimes before the game even starts. Some teams are afraid to try running up the middle near Justin Smith or throwing over the middle near Dashon Goldson. The only teams that have beaten the 49ers this season are the teams that went right at them and punched back.

The Falcons can punch the 49ers by running 250-pound tailback Michael Turner up the middle. If the Falcons can establish him on the first drive, as the Rams did with Steven Jackson, the Seahawks did with Marshawn Lynch and the Vikings did with Adrian Peterson, that will open up the play-action passing game and take away the 49ers’ bullying mystique.

  1. Razoreater says:

Michael Turner? It has been 2 seasons since he looked like a starting NFL back. He just looks big, slow, and indecisive these days. Put a bullseye on him and light him up like a pinata.

    • Coffee's for closers says:

It takes two seconds to look up numbers to make sure what you’re saying actually holds water, and it doesn’t. Here are Turner’s last two seasons:

      2011 1341 yards 4.5 avg 11 TD’s yea those numbers suck
      2010 1371 yards 4.1 avg 12 TD’s awful, cant believe they don’t cut him.

He had 80 less attempts this season then the past two and most of that came from the emergence of Jacquizz Rodgers who had 94 attempts himself.

If you want to discount Turner go right ahead but thank god you don’t run our defense.

      • Razoreater says:

        We’ll see.

      • RolloTomasi says:

Let’s keep in mind he gets a lot of junk yards in the 4th quarter after Falcons have established a comfortable lead. I think he is older and slower than most backs in the league. I’m much more concerned about the two athletic wide receivers.

Woah, nice retort clearly you put a lot into posting here. Got anything else to pull out of your backside that can be proven wrong with 20 seconds worth of googling?

      • Razoreater says:

Let’s see what the Coffee is for losers has to say about Mr. Turners performance after the game.

      • 55Niner says:

        @Razoreater…
The post by Coffee has absolutely nothing to do with the game that Michael Turner will or will not have…it has to do with his rebuttal to your absolutely unfounded post regarding Turner’s performance this past season…..I have to agree with Coffee, thank god Vic Fangio is runnning the 9er defense instead of you.

      • Razoreater says:

It has everything to do with this game. Nothing else matters but this game. If he is the back your numbers claim he is, he’ll prove it against The Godfathers hitmen.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

        derp

    • Nick says:

      CFC

Dude, you need to drink some coffee and relax a bit. Turner and Rodgers will get shutdown today. Turner is still dangerous but not do much against the Niner D.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

55Niner obviously has an adult’s level of reading comprehension to bad I cant say the same for the others who responded to this so far.

  2. MJ says:

    Grant,

You do realize that Tyson was more hype than substance facing far inferior competition over his title run? Not someone I’d want to be compared to.

    Also, he won a championship.

I’d say the Niners are more on the level of Marvelous Marvin Hagler. We may have seen who their Tommy Hearns is (NYG) but who is their Sugar Ray and Roberto Duran…

    • Houston 9er says:

Either you have a bad memory or your just not old enough to know the young Mike Tyson. In Tyson’s early years and including his first championship bouts, Tyson was a dominant beast. There have been few fighters as feared as Tyson when he was at his best. Tyson was not just hype. He was an amazing fighter with power, speed, and skill. Later in his career, his inner demons ruined a historic career. To say he was only hype is completely wrong.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

I have no question that if Tyson had kept his pre 1990 form for the bulk of his career that there would be no question that he would have gone down as one of if not the greatest and most vicious heavy weight fighter of all time. You have to be old enough to remember watching his fights back in ’87 or ’88 when he was knocking fools out in under 120 seconds to appreciate what Tyson was before he and his career when blooey.

I always thought it was a shame that he and Holyfield didn’t fight back when both were in their prime.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

Here’s a good quote from wiki:
Because of Tyson’s strength, many fighters were intimidated by him.[22] This was backed up by his outstanding hand speed, accuracy, coordination, power, and timing. Tyson was also noted for his defensive abilities.[23] Holding his hands high in the Peek-a-Boo style taught by his mentor Cus D’Amato, he slipped and weaved out of the way of the opponent’s punches while closing the distance to deliver his own punches.[23] One of Tyson’s trademark combinations was a right hook to his opponent’s body followed by a right uppercut to his opponent’s chin; very few boxers would remain standing if caught by this combination. Jesse Ferguson and Jose Ribalta were among the boxers knocked down by the combination.

      • Razoreater says:

Mr. Marciano would have made Tyson curl up in a fetal position on the canvas crying for his mommy.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

What a joke, $50 says you’ve never watched either actually fight. Marciano is one of the greats but he wouldn’t have lasted three rounds against Tyson in his prime.

      • Razoreater says:

Coffee: you sir are a boob

      • angusinCanada says:

Tyson in his prime was a fearsome killing machine. He won the heavyweight title at what, 18 or 19? He then demolished every contender for several years. True, a lot of his fights were against paper chumps, but he beat everyone there was to beat.

His two fights against Razor Ruddock are mostly forgotten, but boxing pundits of the day considered those 2 to be the best heavyweights of that time (including the light-punching, overrated Holyfield). Both were incredible fights.

If Marciano could have somehow survived the first 4 rounds against Tyson (and I highly doubt it) he might have had a chance. But that’s it.

      • bayareafanatic says:

Never forget Michael Spinx who only lasted 91 seconds. He actually looked like he was going to cry before the fight started…..
Tyson was a beast. He screwed up leaving Bill Clayton who was not just a great trainer but served as a good mentor to Tyson.

Coffee: you sir are a boob

And you talk about stuff that you have no clue about.

      • Razoreater says:

#1) A PRIME Mike Tyson needed the full distance to get wins over Mitch “Blood” Green and James “Quick” Tillis. Do you REALLY think either guy would have lasted the distance against Marciano?

#2) Mike also needed over 10 rounds for Jose Ribalta, Bonecrusher Smith and Tony Tucker. Again, would any of these guys have lasted more than 6 rounds against Rocky? I don’t think so.

#3) If Mike couldn’t drop any of the above “murder’s row” early, what makes everyone so sure that Mike would EVER get to Rocky?

      • Houston 9er says:

Razor, you’re just wrong. I know Marciano is the great white hope but he isn’t even in the top 20 heavyweight boxers of all time. I firmly believe Tyson would have overpowered Marciano in the first round or two. I could see an argument that George Foreman, or Ali, or Frazier could have beat Tyson. but Marciano? I mean I really admire the guys grit and heart but he isn’t in the same class as Tyson or the other guys I mentioned.

      • Razoreater says:

49-0 46 by knockout. Tysons’ heart would have been devoured by Marcianos blood vessel crushing punches.

      • Houston 9er says:

Glad you think so but you’re just wrong. That’s like saying the 1972 Dolphins would beat the 2012 49ers. The Dolphins were undefeated after all. Get real. The 2012 49ers would have crushed the 72 Dolphins in a laugher. Tyson was faster, more powerful, and a more skilled boxer than Marciano. It’s not close.

      • Razoreater says:

It is what it is. We’ll never know. Undefeated means just that. I’ll keep my money on the MAN with superior punching power, heart and ability to take whatever the opponent can dish out.

    • Razoreater says:

Coffee For Losers says: What a joke, $50 says you’ve never watched either actually fight. Marciano is one of the greats but he wouldn’t have lasted three rounds against Tyson in his prime.

I know enough not to make such a foolish bet.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

        Somehow I doubt it.

      • Razoreater says:

        That’s all you got?

      • Coffee's for closers says:

Look kid, as soon as you have something to say please go right ahead but so far you’ve spent the afternoon talking out of your butt about stuff you have no clue about. Your comment about Michael Turner took all of two seconds worth of stat searching to prove you were clueless about the subject. Then you offer a asinine comparison and suggest that 5’11 188 pound Marciano would last two seconds against the 233 pound 5’10 Tyson. The mere suggestion was proof enough that you were once again just talking out of your butt and mindlessly entering into subjects you clearly shouldn’t.

So please, offer up something legitimate for us to read and I’ll give you something back.

      • Razoreater says:

Coffee for losers, go back to your mommys basement, light the candles, warm your baby oil, put on your silky boxers, play your Neil Sedakas greatest hits CD and wank off to your last years edition of Sports Illustrateds Alex Smith centerfold.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

Given the clarity of that description I’m guessing it comes from first hand experience but thanks for sharing that part of your life.

      • Razoreater says:

You mean YOUR first hand experience right? Tell me, is it your right or left that pleases you more.

      • ottospellczech says:

Anybody look at Tysons body at 18 or 19 and think that there wasn’t a little extra hormones making its way through his system. Its not a fair comparison based on that

    • Chicago49er says:

LOL, Tyson faced inferior competition! Really! he faced inferior competition becasue he was so much better than others in his old days!!! GO NINERS

    • Coffee's for closers says:

Not all of us have a man crush on the kid like you do. I’m surprised you took a moment from rubbing the latest Sport Illustrated all over your body long enough to come post. Did you rip off the cover and stuff it down your pants when you first saw it?

      • bayareafanatic says:

Coffee you sir are a moron. What’s wrong with getting excited about our new starting QB who is one game away from the superbowl?

      • Mr. Everything says:

Actually CFC, I think Kaep is the best QB in the league. Honestly. But I’m not attracted to him. But I am happy Harbaugh was prescient enough to draft the kid and then, ahem, insert him when he did.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

Bay it’s clear that Mr. E knows that I’m just having some fun and can obviously take it like a man and not get his panties in a twist like you felt the need to, but thanks for caring I’m sure Mr. appreciates you coming to his rescue.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

You are my material, keep lobbing’em at me and I’ll keep showing you how it’s done.

      • Razoreater says:

Nah, you’re nothing but a material girl.

      • Mr. Everything says:

        CFC

You’re a good poster around here. So what do you REALLY think about Kaep? Do you think he’s top-5 in the league?

      • Coffee's for closers says:

Nope not yet Mr E, not yet. Lets see how the next hopefully two games go and then let’s talk.

      • Razoreater says:

Coffee is for losers still hoping and wishing?

      • Coffee's for closers says:

Only thing I’m hoping for at this point is for you to shut the F up cause you sound like a teenager when you try to argue with people.

      • Neal says:

Don’t care at the moment if you have Kaep at number 1 or top 5, I just want to win tomorrow. The End.

  4. MontanaMan16 says:

I knew Roddy couldn’t keep quiet all week.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000128332/article/roddy-white-of-atlanta-falcons-to-49ers-d-dont-miss

From what I seen, Atlanta watched the Redskins have success running on the edges of the Seachicken D. Atlanta had success as well. That success on the edges wont be there in this game.

    • Mood_Indigo says:

I look forward to watching Goldson tattoo Roddy White on the deep passes.

I recall White badmouthing Alex Smith a couple of season ago.

Some quintessential Dashon hits on White (along with The Ring) will be great going-away presents for Alex.

  5. Hoferfan67 says:

It used to be said that defenses win championships. It is no longer true when reviewing and analyzing the three other teams still in the Championship games (NYG’s 2011 SB defense rank: Pass, 29th and Run, 19th). I understand the 9ers have an outstanding defense, but they haven’t completely overpowered teams in games by taking over from start to finish. The 9ers do however have the most balanced defense still in the playoffs.

    Playoff teams 2012 ranked defenses:
ATL: Pass 23rd, Run 21st (4th in points against and #5 in net points)
Balt: Pass 17th, Run 20th (12th in points against and #11 in net points)
NE: Pass 29th, Run 9th (9th in points against and #1 in net points)
SF: Pass 4th , Run 4th (2nd in points against and #4 in net points)

Regarding the defense, what has changed? Simplified rules mainly helping the offense? Yes, especially the WRs and the QBs. Is it the focus by the HCs to innovate on offense to optimize these new rules favoring the offense? Absolutely! What is really interesting is that even with the low ranking in pass/run defense, these playoff teams are top 10 teams in points against (Balt: 12th) and net points. Given these stats, I don’t see ATL or Balt in the SB. It will be a rematch of the 9ers /NE regular season game in the SB, if they play their typical 60 minute game and turnovers are minimized enough that they don’t affect the outcome of the game.

  6. Razoreater says:

    Mr. Goldson is $10,000 LIGHTER.

  7. michael says:

    • Brotha Tuna says:

      @Jack
I’m not sure if the allegations will take Crabs out of his game; it could give him a chip on his shoulder that makes him more determined than ever. We’ll see.
As to any allegations, I’m in a ‘wait & see’ mode. The reference to a SF hotel room makes me wonder if the ‘victim’ went to his room willingly, then….? Is it a set up for cash or advantage? A Groupie’s remorse after the fact?
Clearly, every woman has the right to change their mind and say “No”, and I’m supportive of that right unequivocally. I have seen in the past though, that a few of these claims against athletes/celebs have not born out.

      • big niner says:

It’s getting to the point where athletes need to have women sign wavers. I hope he’s innocent. Too many women try to use these guys for money. Imagine if us guys did that. Would it work, she raped me….doesn’t sound believable. The timing though is bad. I was just thinking of what JH would say to his players during bye weeks or if we have two weeks before the superbowl. Eugene Robinson comes to mind.
I don’t think most of these athletes are actually guilty of rape. Kobe comes to mind. I think he was set up. Unfortunately society today takes the womens side 99% of the time.
I just hope justice takes it course and he’s not too distracted.

      • MontanaMan16 says:

I remember watching something from some of the Cowboy players from their hey days of the 90′s. They said they would actually get consent from the females on video before anything ever happened.

    • whatever says:

13-17 ? tried to be funny eh ?

      • Jack Hammer says:

        “whatever says:
        January 19, 2013 at 4:47 pm
13-17 ? tried to be funny eh ?”

The 13 points for the 49ers reflects their average point total from every 3rd game this season, and the 4 point margin of victory equals the Falcons average margin for each of their home wins in 2012. In addition, no team in the 46 year history of the Super Bowl has made the big game without having a 3 game win streak during the regular season. The 2012 49ers longest winning streak was 2.

      • Nick says:

Therefore, the Niners win in a blow out.

  8. Razoreater says:

Chad Hall, you sir are promoted….

  9. Razoreater says:

Is this a sign that something has changed in the Mr. Crabs investigation? For the love of God noooooooo! 6 bucks and my left nut says Mr. Crabs will not be available in this game.

  10. MontanaMan16 says:

For the past 6 years, the team representing the NFC in the SB, played the AFC east in the regular season. If the 9ers make it, it would be 7. Not sure what to make of that!

  11. Dread Pirate Roberts says:

    Prediction: Falcons blow out 49ers

Nolan will have the ends play wide and tell them to stay home removing the option and forcing Kaep to hand off to Gore or James. On the plays he does get out he’ll find a spy waiting for him. Nolan wont be foolish like Capers and play much to any man so there’s little chance of Kaepernick having any of those clear lane runs like he did against GB. The defensive backs will always be in a position to see the QB. Without any of the gash plays offered by the success we’ve had in the pistol the offense will struggle to consistently maintain drives. The Falcons going up early will essentially force us to give up the run game and become one dimensional. Once we give up the threat of the option they’ll start to double Michael and Vernon leaving us to try and move the ball with Moss and Jenkins. Delanie will drop 3 passes again.

The double threat from the wide outs will leave Gonzalez open all day long for easy first downs in the middle of the field and on out patterns. They’ll run Turner right at Justin Smith who will end up leaving the game in the second or third quarter. Once they’ve established success with Turner it’ll be over as Ice starts to play action and pick us apart with his double headed monster.

The Falcons have been underestimated all year and done nothing but win games. They’re a #1 seed who is a 4 point under dog at home and although many discount the effect of that I don’t and believe the Falcons are going to come out with both guns blazing and our track history suggests that we wont be ready.

    49ers 13 Falcons 30

    Score by Qtr
    Atl 7 10 10 3
    SF 3 3 0 7

    Hopefully I’m wrong.

    • Razoreater says:

So much blah blah blah for a redonkulous conclusion.

      • Dread Pirate Roberts says:

You don’t like it so it must be wrong. Nice counter conclusion by the way instead of just sounding like an infant trying to be funny.

    • MontanaMan16 says:

“Nolan will have the ends play wide and tell them to stay home removing the option and forcing Kaep to hand off to Gore or James.”

Handing off to Gore and LMJ is not a bad thing!

” The defensive backs will always be in a position to see the QB.”

And in doing so, they will lose track of where the 9er reciever went.

“The double threat from the wide outs will leave Gonzalez open all day long for easy first downs in the middle of the field and on out patterns.”

Thats what the Saints said. I don’t remember their TE doing much.

” The Falcons going up early will essentially force us to give up the run game and become one dimensional. ”

And how many teams have done that to us?

    • Dread Pirate Roberts says:

When it goes down this way I already know neither of you will sack up and come back and admit you were wrong but that’s ok, I forgive you.

    • Razoreater says:

We? You have a little buddy in your pocket? Larry Bird did not do as much ball handling in a night as you do in an hour.

    • Neal says:

More like “Falcons Blow” and Niners go to the Super Bowl. Nolan is delusional and arrogant. Tired of discussing Niner football as Elvis said a little less conversation and more action please. Glad we got a early game.

    • Dread Pirate Roberts says:

Oops, look who’s right. Today would have been easier for you to handle if you had gone into it with a lot more humility. Even fans can understand that you dont win every game and today we aren’t going to win.

      • ribico says:

lol. brilliant prediction. There’s still 55 minutes to go.

      • Dread Pirate Roberts says:

I only predicted one TD in the first quarter but playing like this our defense will almost certainly give up another, probably on this next drive even.

        Falcons 37 49ers 10

      • Dread Pirate Roberts says:

Hey I’m just watching what our “elite” defense is playing like and the predictions are easy because we’ve already seen this outcome this season. We’ve AGAIN come out flat for a third game and will totally suck today and get blown out.

      • Dread Pirate Roberts says:

Grant will blame everything on Roman and Harbaugh giving everyone on the team and F except Colin who will still get an A-. Grant will write multiple articles on how we lost because of Romans poor game planning and lack of attempts to feed the ball to Davis. Rinse wash repeat.

    • Dread Pirate Roberts says:

This game is over folks. Continue watching the rest of my prediction come true if you like or you could trust read it and turn off the tv either way the 49ers ARE losing today.

Razor, MontanaMan and Neal feel free to come lick my balls at any time, I went for a jog and got them nice and salty for ya.

  12. Razoreater says:

Nolan the tool in the suit is going to shut down Romans’ Legion?

  13. Fourth & Alex says:

I’m feeling somewhat nervous about this game. Funny thing is, sitting on the couch last week I told my wife if the game plays out like it should, the 49ers should dominate the Packers. I felt we were a superior team in pretty much every facet of the game.

This week is on the road. I think if we prevent the Falcons from going deep on us early in the game, we’ll be fine. If White, Jones or Gonzalez get some big gains on us early, that’s where our defense tends to play back on their heels and becomes quite ordinary.

Stop the big plays and let the game play out on normal terms (no turnovers) and we’re golden.

I hate playing on turf. Just seems unnatural. If this game was in San Fran I think we win it running away.

We’re not at our best in loud dome stadiums. Hopefully we punch them in the mouth early and make a physical statement.

    • Neal says:

I am nervous every game, we can be playing a high school team and I still will be nervous. Nothing will be easy is the way I am taking it.

  14. Squashleg says:

I’m not nervous. Win or lose this is a great team with a bright future! I pictured this moment happening three or four years down the road with Kap at QB. Instead the kid has got 10 games under his belt and is playing for the NFC championship. I know I’m stating the obvious but…..WOW!!! GO NINERS!!!

  15. Razoreater says:

Vernon is gonna have 5 catches for ~100 yds and 1 TD. I’m calling it now.

  16. Prime Time says:

Today is the day faithful! Beat the birds and no doubt we win #6 in two weeks!
    Go Niners!

  17. Razoreater says:

Some great news to get this party started:

One well-placed San Francisco 49ers source said he “highly, highly doubted” that San Francisco wide receiver Michael Crabtree will be charged in the events that led to an investigation of sexual assault last week.

A second female witness backed up Crabtree’s version of the events to police, according to the source, and there’s a feeling in the organization that these events will not develop into anything more than they already have.

Crabtree cooperated with police, interviewed with them for two hours, never was booked, never was charged, and the team doesn’t believe he will be.

The team thought the timing of the announcement of the investigation, coming Friday night, was suspicious.

The 49ers insist that the events were not a distraction to the team, and it was just another reminder that players can be targets and they have to be careful.

    • bayareafanatic says:

We dont throw scores out before the game…… lol

    • Neal says:

I really want to win this game like we did Green Bay, want a stress free day, but if we win by one, and the Atlanta falls short on our 1 yard line, so be it.

  20. undercenter says:

NINERS!!! lets win this and go after number six.

  21. Crab15 says:

Grant – How has your morning been, can you give us some details? We are ready for 49ers-Falcons NFC Championship live pregame blog.

  22. bayareafanatic says:

    Grant,
you lucky enough to be in Atlanta?

  23. jsand3030 says:

OK boys and girl! Im up and ready! Im really nervous but excited. Lets getting rolling early on this team and shut the crowd up.

  24. Brotha Tuna says:

Yesterday’s Ch2 evening news had clips of 49er Faithful on the streets of Atlanta saying there’s Red & Gold all over the place. Spirits high. Think positive. Think focused. Bring it! Go Freakin’ Niners!

    • Hoferfan67 says:

Brotha, good 9er mornin’ to you! What’s on the wine agenda for today? Or are you drinking something else?

      • Brotha Tuna says:

Yo Hofer! G’day! No wine yet; it’s just a tad early…… Going with Peet’s House Blend at the moment.
Hanging at home, taking my superstitions seriously; this is the Playoffs! Had friends over for last week’s game. They wanted to have us over this weekend but I bailed cuz I didn’t want to abandon my lucky seat, especially when we’ve gotta bust the 2/1 jinx, which we’re going to do.
The quality of my evening will be determined by events in Atlanta, but there will be some Louis Jadot Bourgone to accompany a Steelhead filet grilled on cedar plank.

      • Hoferfan67 says:

Brotha, sounds great. You could have started this morning with a mimosa leading into a white of some sort and then a red?? I’m not drinking until half time most likely. Speaking of Peets, I just started grinding my coffee (again) and man it is good. A $15 dollar grinder does wonders… Go 9ers!!!!!!!

  25. Hoferfan67 says:

Damn, is this blog AWAKE!! I hope the 9ers don’t come out as flat as this blog! Where the hell is everyone?? Come on people…READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!!

    • Jack Hammer says:

I’m READY Hofer! Haven’t been able to sleep the last couple nights. Too jacked up. Go 9ers!

    • ninermd says:

Just got done setting the house up, invented the (ceiling flan) grills are ready, beer is chilling, friends on their way! I’m having a (faithful only) party today. Hurt some feelings but this is a faithful only game. Im awake since 4:30…………Wheeeeeew!

      • Hoferfan67 says:

        MD and Jack,

Good Mornin! Can you believe we’re back? I feel this is the year – no more waiting for #6. It’s the 9ers (our) time yet again…LET’S GO!!!

      • Hoferfan67 says:

MD, with friends over you aren’t going to forget your 9er faithful on the blog are you? Come on man, good times!!

      • bayareafanatic says:

The Niners are like a volcano that lay dormant for the last 17 years. Today it erupts in a beautiful display of red and gold…….. Let’s go Niners.

      • Brotha Tuna says:

        @MD
Whew! You run a tough room. Some didn’t make the cut? LOL you’re a fanatic fo’ sho’! Glad you’re on our side, bro!

      • Neal says:

        Bay,

Never knew we had Edgar Allan Poe among us. Nice description.

      • ninermd says:

Hof ill pop on a couple of times during the game.

Brotha… They’re invited for the Superbowl. I love my folks they understand (well most do) I can’t be having nothing other than a faithful fan up in here for this huge game…. #goldblooded! Wheeew!

      • Hoferfan67 says:

MD, I’m with you! Don’t you love the friends that come over as an event and start discussing their vacation plans when it’s 3rd and goal late in the 4th qtr of a tied game. Ha!!

      • Neal says:

I almost rather watch the game by myself, then get stuck in unnecessary conversations.

      • BigP says:

Nothing is worse than having a non-fan watch a big game with hard core fans. Last year, during the Super Bowl, my friends girlfriend wanted to change the channel to see what time her reality show started. My buddy was horrified at the ridiculous. I simply said to the her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ahBIrjQ0oE

      • BigP says:

        *ridiculous request

  26. Brotha Tuna says:

    Hofe
I know those people! LOL! Ms Tuna always gets suspicious when a couple wants to come over, cuz she watches the game and doesn’t want to be trapped in the kitchen talking about other stuff.
