SAN FRANISCO — This is the live blog for the pregame of the 49ers’ divisional playoff game against the Packers. I’ll update this frequently with information and analysis from the press box.
The 49ers inactives are Scott Tolzien, Billy Cundiff, Trenton Robinson, Jewel Hampton, Tony-Jerod Eddie, Joe Looney and Ian Williams.
The Packers inactives are WR Jarrett Boykin, RB Alex Green, CB Davon House, LB Frank Zombo, TE D.J. Williams, DT Jordan Miller and DE Jerel Worthy.
The Packers have five wide receivers active for this game: Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, James Jones and Donald Driver.
3:49 David Akers just started taking warmup kicks. I’ll keep you updated.
3:51 Akers just made a 45-yard field goal from the right hash.
3:52 Next, he makes a 50-yard kick from the right hash.
3:52 Now he makes a 50-yarder from the left hash. He has not missed.
3:57 First miss: Off the left upright from 49 yards out.
3:59 Akers just missed another: Wide right from 52 yards out.
3:59 He tried it again and missed wide right again. Now he’s trying a 54-yarder.
4:00 He nailed it.
4:02 Now he’s kicking on the south field goal.
4:05 He misses a 54-yarder way, way short.
4:05 He tries it again and makes it, just barely.
4:22 Neither Justin Smith or Aaron Rodgers has come out to the field yet.
4:24 Colin Kaepernick spends about two hours pregame warming up his legs, and about 20 minutes warming up his arm. He rarely stands around. He’s always stretching or bouncing or running.
4:25 Aaron Rodgers just took the field along with most of the Packers. Justin Smith is still in the locker room.
4:28 There he is. Justin Smith is in the back corner of the south end zone stretching. He’s wearing that brace on his left arm.

Hey Grant,
What’s the atmosphere like today at the Stick? Can you feel the winning vibe?
It’s cold and there are very few people in the stadium. I’ll keep you posted on the vibes.
BTW, I’m glad they stayed with DA as the kicker. It seems he is on today.
He’s launching them right now.
Yup, I was a bit early. All of the vibe is still in the parking lot. LOL
Any interesting stories from the parking lot?
I’m not at the game, but I’m close to my wine locker. lol
Nice. What are you drinking pregame?
It was going to be a NZ Sauvignon Blanc, but it is an Anderson Valley sparkling wine (wife fav), and then I’ll move over to a Central Coast Pinot. BTW, did LC take you to dinner last night?
No, he’s taking the family to Gary Danko this summer after my mom recovers from a hip replacement. Have you been there? I have not.
Yes, it’s outstanding.
Sorry but 25% of Niner fans are bandwagon pansies that dont know how to get loud…They kind of ruin it..Candlestick never really gets to loud as all the fans from Marin Co are weak and just sit there clapping.
Niners win this one decisively. .37-18..Watch for R Moss to have a huge game…
Good evening to you Grant.
Good evening to you, Razoreater.
Big game sat let’s kick the tires and light the fires let’s go 9ers everyday all day
Gonna’ be a game of injuries…it’s too cold to keep warmed up muscle strains
Who wins..? Go Niners!!!
Get ready for a signature win by this team. Our stars will shine bright.
gettin ur beyonce on…..shine bright like a diamond in the sky
Wasnt that rihanna?
Go 49ers! Handle your business!
I hope Candlestick lets the Packers know their on the road! I want the 49er fans to make themselves felt on the field today!!!
Damn this AFC game is delivering the goods! Go niners!
I just hope Cowboy can be effective. If Cowboy can be effective, Niners probably win.
I think it comes down to him as well.
Is it any indication that the staff think J. Smith is in pretty good shape that they deactivated two backup D linemen today ?
Maybe. It could also be an indication that Tukuafu is healthy and a better option as a fourth interior defensive lineman than Jerod-Eddie or Williams.
I’m going 38-35 Niners, and i think we need a consistent pass rush to win this game (Justin & Aldon effective). But i’ll happily eat crow if we win this going away – Go Niners!
Do you think Kaepernick will top his New England performance?
i fear he may have to. I think/fear Rodgers may have a big day teed up – its hard to beat a good team twice in the same season, and a great qb. course, this is as much fear/emotion as it is thinking. the Niners pushed around the Pack in the first game, and if we push em around again its a straightforward win, but there’s been a lot of water (and injuries) under the bridge since then.
Hey Grant. Didn’t see a post of your game prediction. What’s the final score?
31-27 Packers.
Den get a 1st down and it’s over. PM with two turnovers.
It is playoff time.. No more Kapers and Smithers… Just Niners!! Let us go baby….
Good morning to everyone! Approaching 1am here, its gonna be one hell of a game today!
Lets give the Packers all they can take and much much more!!!!
DC, are you in England?
Yes, in beautiful Devon.
Well then, top of the morning to you fellow 9er fan! Go 9ers!!!
Cheers Hof, raising a glass to you and every niner across the world!
Ok Niners lets get it done today.
Jeez Den. Here we go…OT??
What in the F were those defensive backs thinking? Simply stupendous.
At UCLA I took Korean drumming with Rahim Moore, the safety who blew that play.
It’s GC’s fault!! LOL
This is what Rich Gannon just tweeted: “Maybe the worst angle and play by a safety that I’ve ever seen! Wow, just terrible!” Ouch.
I know! Its been a fantastic game to watch!
Yes! Hoping Ravens win!
me too. I think Flacco may have to just throw it long on every play!
Frank!
