Prediction: Bengals will beat Texans

The Bengals will beat the Texans on Saturday, and here’s why.

Matt Schaub’s has been playing worse and worse for several consecutive weeks.  It’s bad to have a cold quarterback as you enter the playoffs.  Also, it’s tough for the Texans to get up for a wild card game when they have been planning on having a bye week for so long. I like the Texans’ running game, and Andre Johnson is an excellent wide out, but Schaub is the key. Bengals’ defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer will have an answer for the Texans’ zone run schemes and the bootleg passes.

Houston’s defense is pretty tough, but New England exposed their secondary. If Andy Dalton gets the time, A.J. Green will have a big game.

The following teams will be one-and-done
    Houston
    Baltimore
    GB
    Seattle
    Atlanta

    • Nick says:

Oops, replace GB with the Vikings

I saw it that way right up to the time Ray Lewis announced his retirement. I think announcing it at this time is purely a motivational tactic. And it may work.

    My winning teams are:
    Ravens
    Texans
    Redskins
    Green Bay
    Coming out of this weekend.

    • Ed from AZ says:

Yes to those and 50-50 on the Colts-Ravens. I like the Colts cuz they’re playing some inspired football right now and have lots of momentum. Luck is a great QB, and when he hits throws like the one to TY Hilton last week, he will be hard to slow down.

      AES,

That’s how I see it playing out too.

    • dangle says:

      all home teams eh?

    Texans by two TDs…

  4. Coffee's for closers says:

I’m picking the Texans simply because I just can’t allow myself to believe that a team could so completely fall apart. Even though I’ve been calling them overrated all season they’re still better then the Bengals and should be able to win this game.

    • CharlesP says:

You’re full of crap Bengals will dominate.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

Oh that’s quite the argument you make. You’ll be eating sh*t when the Bengals go and lay an egg this weekend. Don’t worry about coming back and fessing up to your mistake though, turds that make comments like yours don’t have the stones to come back and man up to their mistakes.

      • Coffee's for closers says:

Well? What do you have to say for yourself?

    • Texans Fan says:

Yeah I agree with you. I think they just need a little more practice too :)

  5. AES* says:

The Texans are the team that concerns me the most. I agree with C4C that the Texans are not as bad as their recent bad run would indicate.

If they find themselves and win big this week (which I believe will happen) they could continue that run through the playoffs and be on a high going into the SB.

I see the Texans winning in a close game against the Payton led Broncos in the AFC Championship game.

I also see the 49ers vs the Falcons in the Championship game with the 49ers winning.

    • MontanaMan16 says:

The only problem I see with that is Houston aint winning in NE which is where they go if they get by the Bengals. We just saw that game the week before the 9ers went there. They got humiliated and it will happen again. I’m not completely sold on Denver, they played 3 good teams and lost all 3. I need to see them beat someone good. Not exactly sure how the NFC plays out as to whether the 9ers will stay home or go to Atlanta, but I see 9ers /NE SB.

Its Peyton, with an E… fyi
