Shannon Sharpe on Ray Lewis

Shannon Sharpe, the Hall of Fame tight end and current NFL analyst, was one of the few people who didn’t dodge speaking about Ray Lewis’ involvement in the 2000 Atlanta night incident that left two people dead and the Ravens linebacker in jail for two weeks before being released.

Lewis pleaded guilty to an obstruction charge and reportedly paid the affected families some money.

“Ray will never live down that segment of his life,” said Sharpe, a friend of Lewis’. “He knows it won’t go away. But Ray Lewis will tell you that incident made him the man he is today.”
