49ers @ Chiefs preseason live blog: Third quarter

This is the live blog for the third quarter of the 49ers’ exhibition game against the Kansas City Chiefs. I’ll update this frequently with information and analysis from my living room.

6:47 The 49ers get the ball first at their 22 yard line. McCoy is the quarterback.

6:54 A.J. Jenkins beats undrafted cornerback Neiko Thorpe on a corner route for a 21-yard gain, but Adam Snyder was flagged for holding on the play and the catch doesn’t count.

6:56 Wylie returns Lee’s punt 52 yards.

6:59 Chase Daniel and the Chiefs’ second-team offense goes three-and-out. Nate Stupar blitzes on third-and-five and sacks Daniel, then Haralson blocks the punt.

7:02 Scott Tolzien gets sacked on second down, killing the drive. But Dawson makes his second 55 yard field goal of the game. 13-9 Chiefs.

7:10 Dobbs gets flagged for an unnecessary roughness penalty but three plays later Cox blitzes and sacks Daniels and the Chiefs punt.

7:16 On third and 13, B.J. Daniels throws a strike to Jacobs on a back shoulder fade, but Jacobs is late reacting to it and he can’t get his hands on it. The 49ers punt.

7:21 Daniels completes a six-yard pass to Donnie Avery, and the Chiefs face third-and-six when the fourth quarter starts.
