49ers @ Seahawks NFC Championship live blog: Third quarter

SEATTLE — This is the live blog for the third quarter of the NFC Championship between the 49ers and Seahawks. I’ll update this frequently with information and analysis from the press box.

5:23 On third-and-five from the 49ers’ 26, Kaepernick scrambles left and hits Crabtree for 12 yards. Byron Maxwell is hurt.

5:27 Kaepernick overthrows Crabtree deep on first down. Gore loses five yards on second down. Kaepernick scrambles right and throws low and incomplete to Boldin on third down. Lee punts 38 yards. Tate returns it 10 yards to the Seahawks’ 40.

5:32 On third-and-1 from the 49ers’ 40, Lynch takes the handoff, cuts back to the right, runs into his own guy, breaks away, stumbles near the goal line but scores a 40-yard touchdown. 10-10.

5:35 On the kick return, James gets tackled at the 49ers’ 17.

5:35 Kaepernick gains 22 yards on a naked bootleg to the left. Next play, he fumbles but Goodwin recovers. Next play, Kaepernick steps up in the pocket, jumps and throws a rope to Boldin in the end zone. The pass goes right over Earl Thomas’ head and Boldin catches it. Touchdown. 17-10 49ers.

5:43 Baldwin returns the kickoff 69 yards to the 49ers’ 33 yard line.

5:47 On third-and-7, the Seahawks commit a false start. Next play, Willis blitzes and hits Wilson and forces him to throw it away. The Seahawks make the 40-yard field goal attempt. 17-13 49ers with 3:55 left in the third quarter.

And Kaepernick throws too high for Crabtree on third down. Chris Maragos runs into the Lee, but the 49ers decline. Seahawks’ ball at their 38.
