49ers sign Randy Moss to one-year deal

The 49ers have signed Randy Moss to a one-year contract, according to Adam Schefter.

Clearly, the Niners were impressed with Moss in his workout this afternoon and feel he can be their deep threat and red zone target even at the age of 35.

I like this move for the Niners. Moss probably will be a better receiver in 2012 than anyone they could have drafted with the 30th overall pick – better than Kendall Wright and Stephen Hill and Rueben Randle.

I still expect the Niners to draft a receiver, but now they won’t have to do that in the first round. They have no glaring needs on the roster anymore. They can take the best player available.

And that guy may be Stanford tight end Coby Fleener. We’ll know more about him after his Pro Day on March 22nd.

It could also be an interior offensive lineman to play right guard, like Peter Konz.

What do you think of the Niners signing Moss?
