49ers v. Jaguars live blog: Second quarter

This is the live blog for the second quarter of the 49ers’ Week 8 game in London against the Jaguars. I’ll update this frequently with information and analysis from my living room.

10:54 Kyle Williams gains 9 yards on a fly sweep and then gains 15 more for taking a hit out of bounds. Next play, Boldin drops a pass. Next play, Gore gains one yard up the middle. Third-and-9 and the Jaguars take timeout.

10:58 Kaepernick converts by scrambling up the middle for 16 yards. Next play, he throws a strike to Boldin on a slant. Gain of 12. Two plays later, Kaepernick fakes a handoff and throws to Vernon Davis. Touchdown. 21-0. Kaepernick is playing brilliantly and the Jaguars really stink.

11:04 Ray McDonald commits an encroachment penalty on first down and the Jaguars still go three-and-out. Kyle Williams makes a fair catch at the 49ers’ 37.

11:10 Another brilliant drive for Kaepernick. A 31-yard pass to a wide open Vernon Davis on a wheel route. A roll to the left and a 19-yard pass to a wide open Vernon Davis. And a 9-yard touchdown run on a read-option play. 28-0 49ers. So far, Kaepernick is the game’s leading passer and rusher.

11:14 Todman fumbles again but recovers and returns it to the Jags’ 39.

11:16 But the Jags go three-and-out again. Corey Lemonier forces Henne to roll right and throw the ball out of bounds on third-and-four. Kyle Williams fumbles the punt out of bounds at the SF 27.

11:21 Kyle Williams makes a 7-yard reception and Gore breaks a 10-yard run up the middle and on the next play Iupati commit holding and the 49ers can’t recover. Andy Lee punts. Jags’ ball at their 20.

11:27 Henne completes two passes for 20 yards to Cecil Shorts who is being covered by Tramaine Brock.

11:30 Justin Blackmon drops a pass he probably could have run into the end zone. Two plays later the Jags kick a field goal and the Londoners go wild. 28-3.

11:38 Frank Gore had a good half, rushing 12 times for 53 yards. He had one 19-yard run touchdown run and he was hardly touched. Other than that, he’s rushed 11 times for 33 yards.
