49ers v. Rams live blog: Fourth quarter

SAN FRANCISCO — This is the live blog for the fourth quarter of the 49ers’ Week 13 game against the Rams. I’ll update this frequently with information and analysis from the press box.

3:28 Jake Long’s return is questionable.

3:30 Clemens throws a dead duck on third-and-8 and the Rams go three-and-out.

3:30 Then the Rams go for a fake punt and completely botch it. Dixon makes the tackle for a loss of five. 49ers’ ball at the Rams’ 17.

3:32 On first down, Kaepernick fakes the handoff, rolls right and hits Vernon Davis, who hurdles a defender at the goal line and score. Good play call and good play by Davis. 23-6 Niners.

3:34 Jake Long is out.

3:38 The Rams go three-and-out again and Jeff Fisher gives up by punting. Fisher is so overrated.

3:42 The 49ers go three-and-out. Jenkins knocks away a deep pass for Crabtree on first down, Gore gains no yards on second down and then he gains three yards on a third-down catch. Rams’ ball at their 24 after the punt.

3:52 Clemens scrambles for 3 yards on fourth-and-11. Ha ha. 49ers ball. I’m going down to the field. Back at your shortly.
