Are we looking at a quarterback controversy?

Obviously, if Colin Kaepernick has a great game against the Bears, we’re looking at a full-on quarterback controversy.

And if Kaepernick falls on his face, there will be no QB controversy.

But what if he has a middle-of-the-road game? He manages the game as well as Alex Smith, has some good runs and wins. Would there be QB controversy then?
