Baas re-signs with 49ers for one year

Guard David Baas, a restricted free agent, signed his one-year, $1,226 million tender with the 49ers today, the club announced.

Baas no longer can negotiate with any other team. He is eligible for unrestricted free agency at the beginning of the 2011 league year.

Baas, whom the 49ers selected with the first pick of the second round in the 2005 draft, started all 16 games for the 49ers last season. It was the first time in his five-year career that he started more than nine games in a season.

I don’t expect the Baas signing to have any impact on the 49ers’ draft. The club has not made a strong attempt to sign Baas to a multi-year contract. The one-year deal for Baas includes no guaranteed money.

The 49ers signed the club’s other restricted free agent, linebacker Ahmad Brooks, to a two-year, $4.225 million contract two weeks ago that includes a $1.85 million signing bonus.
