According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, free agent cornerback Carlos Rogers is scheduled to meet with the 49ers tonight and tomorrow.
If Trent Baalke can sign Rogers – the top corner back left on the market – good for him and good for the 49ers. They need to sign a cornerback if they want to compete for a playoff spot this year.
My gut says Baalke won’t offer Rogers a dollar more than what he’s “worth.” If he has to bid against another team to sign Rogers, it gets iffy.
But I’m just guessing, and anyway I’m getting ahead of myself. The 49ers could sign Rogers tonight. We’ll have to wait and see.
