Niners rookies and selected veterans hit the practice field this afternoon. Very few of the veterans are in attendance this weekend, as the youngsters get a chance to take the bulk of the practice repetitions during the minicamp.
The 49ers picked up an additional 2010 first-round draft pick last week, and GM Scot McCloughan said today it is possible the club will not still own it when next year’s draft rolls around.
Today is the last day draft-eligible prospects are allowed to visit with teams prior to the April 25-26 draft. The 49ers expect a turnout in the mid-30s for their local pro day at the team’s practice facility in Santa Clara.
