Clements is questionable for Sunday’s game

The 49ers just concluded their Thursday practice, and Mike Singletary has met with the assembled media.

Here’s what’s going on in 49erland:

–Cornerback Nate Clements is questionable, Singletary said, with a slight fracture of his thumb. He did not practice today.

INJURY REPORT

Did not practice: Clements (thumb) and PR/KR Allen Rossum (ankle).

Limited practice: S Dashon Goldson (knee) and WR Josh Morgan (groin). Morgan looks to be getting a lot stronger. He went up for a nifty leaping grab at the end of practice.

Full practice: S Michael Lewis (abdomin), WR Arnaz Battle (foot) and CB Walt Harris (he rested on Wednesday).

–Singletary said Adam Snyder is still the starting right tackle, but Barry Sims might see some playing time.

–Battle is looking good for a possible return. However, Singletary said he is not sure how much he’ll play.

–Singletary promised that Ahmad Brooks will suit up for a game before the end of the season, but he said it does not look as if it will be for this week’s game against the Jets. Brooks has yet to put on a uniform this season.

–If Clements is unable to play, Donald Strickland would probably start. Strickland is coming off a strong game as an extra defensive back against Bills.
