Crabtree: “You have to get your chances. I can’t say anything else.”

SAN FRANCISCO – Here’s a transcript of what Michael Crabtree said in the locker room after the loss to the Giants Sunday night, courtesy of the 49ers.

Did the weather affect the game a lot today?

“No, it couldn’t be the weather. The other side of the ball was catching the ball.”

Did you feel like you were open?

“Half the time you aren’t going to be open. That’s why they call you a playmaker. You have to get your chances. I can’t say anything else.”

How did the defense play you?

“They played me the same really. That’s it, just opportunities.”

Were they rolling a safety to your side?

“Yeah, half the time. When they’re not rolling the safety we have to hit it.”

You’re obviously good friends with WR Kyle Williams. How do you feel about that?

“It’s football. You can’t just go crazy over that play. I know you love the game, but at the same time it’s football. Game over, there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s just how it is.”

Did you say anything to him?

“I told him just don’t do anything stupid. It’s a football game. I know it hurts, but it’s going to hurt.”

People were calling this the team of destiny. How shocking is it for it to suddenly be over?

“Defense played great. Great defense and you can’t say enough about them, they were great. Sometimes you just have to move the ball. You’ve got to make plays and give people chances to make plays.”
