Foster expected to make second straight start

The 49ers continue to call it a game-time decision, but running back Frank Gore has gone two full weeks without practicing due to a left ankle sprain.

He did not practice today, and he’s officially listed as “questionable” for Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams. In the chance Gore suits up for the game, it seems unlikely he would have a big role in the game.

Look for DeShaun Foster to get his second start — or at least a lot of playing time in Sunday’s game.

Right tackle Adam Snyder saw limited practice, and is also listed as questionable. Look for Barry Sims to get his first seventh start of the season.

Linebacker Ahmad Brooks has not played in a game this season. He won’t play Sunday, either, as a back injury has him listed as questionable.

The following players are listed as probable:

DE Ronald Fields (foot-limited practice)

S Michael Lewis (abdomen-full practice)

WR Josh Morgan (head-limited practice)

S Mark Roman (head-limited practice)

PR/KR Allen Rossum (ankle-full practice)

T Joe Staley (ankle-full practice)

A league spokesman said the NFL did not fine Miami‘s Joey Porter for his actions during warmups prior to Sunday’s game. It appeared as if Porter tried to antagonize 49ers tight end Vernon Davis into a confrontation when he wandered over to the 49ers’ side of the field.
