According to Adam Schefter, the 49ers have traded Taylor Mays to the Cincinnati Bengals for an undisclosed draft pick.
When they disclose the draft pick, I will provide that information for you here.
I’m guessing it’s lower than a second-round pick, but I don’t have any inside knowledge.
Cincinnati currently employs three members of the 2010 Niner defense: Mays, Nate Clements, and Manny Lawson.
In hindsight who should Trent Baalke have drafted at pick 49 in 2010? A lot of fans wanted Jimmy Clausen, but the Carolina Panthers drafted him right before the Niners at pick 48.
After Mays, the next five players who were drafted were: CB Javier Arenas, RB Toby Gerhart, DE Jason Worlids, DE Jermaine Cunningham, and DE Carlos Dunlap.
Clearly, this is a Baalke pick that did not work out.
