Harbaugh: “Crab is back.”

SANTA CLARA – Jim Harbaugh spoke to reporters in the defensive meeting room Monday afternoon. Here’s what he said about Frank Gore’s 51-yard run against the Seahawks, and what Harbaugh said about Michael Crabtree.

Q: What did you see when you looked at the film of Gore’s long run at the end of the game?

HARBAUGH: It was one of the biggest holes we had on the day to run through. Everybody got their blocks – Staley, Snyder, Jonathan Goodwin, Alex Boone got up on the second level and was able to shield and get Frank up on the safety, and Frank did a great job of making him miss. It ended up in a long run.

Q:  Michael Crabtree’s stats didn’t jump out, what you would call low-hanging fruit. But what kind of impact did he have on this game?

HARBAUGH: Good. He made one phenomenal catch. It was only a four-yard gain, but he’s someone that Colin has confidence in and the team has confidence in. He was really motivated for this game. It’s like he’s back. Not this game but the game before, I turned around at one point and he had turned around and said, “What do I got to do get the ball?!” And then it was like, “Alright, Crab is back.”

Q: Boldin had 7 yards Week 2 in Seattle, and 93 yards yesterday against them. Is that attributable to having Crabtree on the field at the same time?

HARBAUGH: That’s a valid point. There have been times throughout the year when Anquan’s gotten doubled and Vernon’s gotten doubled on the same play. When Michael is out there with everything he’s shown he can do since coming back, he’s another high-level guy that has to be accounted for.
