Harbaugh: “The only victim in Colin’s case is Colin’s reputation.”

SANTA CLARA – Jim Harbaugh spoke to Bay Area reporters Friday afternoon. Here’s what he said about Colin Kaepernick.

Q: Are you concerned about of all the players on your team who have been under investigation recently?

HARBAUGH: It’s like a parent does. Do you worry? Do you think about it a lot? Yes. It’s the same thing you tell your own kids – there are consequences for all of our actions – good or bad. In some instances, keep in mind this: There sometimes are two sides to stories. I often see the one side reported in the media, and then it gains incredible speed and attention. The other side still remains to be told. Looking at Colin Kaepernick’s situation, at some point there needs to be a resolution to some of these jump-the-gun, witch-hunt kind of scenario that we’re seeing. Winston Churchill had a great quote – a lie will get halfway around the world before the truth has the chance to put on its pants. At some point there needs to be a resolution to this kind of scenario. The only victim in Colin’s case is Colin’s reputation.

Q: You think nothing will come of his situation?

HARBAUGH: Yes. I’ve seen one side reported, seen the other side and feel very good that there will be a good resolution.

  1. Wild speculation time: the female in question is an ex of Colin’s – perhaps they’re not on great terms. She came over to Lockette’s place either because Colin was already there or he was supposed to show up at some point. Basketball was watched. Drinks were had. Bongs were ripped. A “good night” was experienced by all.

As things wound down or the night just progressed, the ex prepared herself for a personal night with Colin, specifically. Long story-short, for one reason or another, Colin wasn’t having it. He leaves the room. He leaves the apt. Maybe he was never even there to begin with. This makes for a disgruntled ex.

She’s been drinking. She’s presumably high. Whatever. She’s not in her right mind. Maybe she was aggressive or belligerent because her feelings were hurt. What if Lockette and the General were just trying to get her to calm down? What if she plain just wouldn’t leave? What if she started to visibly having physical difficulty of some sort (inebriation plus emotional stress) and the two of them were just concerned for her health when they peeked in those two times? Coincidently, Locketted called 911 twice.

Whatever. FWIW, I’ve not yet had the opportunity to meet Colin – I hope to, at some point – but I’m close to several folks who have and trust their character assessments (hearsay, I know). The guy is, by all accounts, a smart, charismatic, friendly and down-to-earth cat. He’s the kind of guy you wouldn’t mind your daughter dating.

The TMZ version of Kap is just that. Consider the source. Don’t believe the hype (machine).

  2. My theory…

Crazy hot chick that’s all about drama and trauma. She wanted to get down with CK … they made out for a bit … but he came to his senses and ditched her … or he got a text/better offer. He bailed, she didn’t like it…patton & lockette probably acted like a-holes and she went crazy-hot-chick yelling. “Where the F is Colin?”

    1. HaHa I’m more concerned about Mr. Automatic! Any father who would knowingly set his daughter up with an NFL player is nothing short of a pimp. Young NFL players only have a few things on their mind and I assure you, a serious relationship is not one of them.
