Hill in limbo with 49ers

It’s “business as usual” for 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill, who plans to return to the Bay Area on Sunday to take part in the opening of the team’s offseason conditioning program, said Bob Lattinville, his agent.

Hill’s future with the 49ers is clearly in question after the team added free-agent David Carr with a reported two-year, $6.25 million contract. The deal includes a $2 million signing bonus.

“Shaun has nothing but appreciation for everyone in the 49ers’ organization from the top all the way down,” Lattinville said. “We certainly respect their right to do business any way they see fit. How that affects Shaun, we’ll just have to wait to see.”

The 49ers now have four quarterbacks on their roster. Alex Smith is considered the starter, with Carr signed to take over as the backup. Hill is still under contract for the 2010 season, and the 49ers continue to develop youngster Nate Davis.
