Linehan is back for Round 2 of interviews

Former Rams coach Scott Linehan is back at the 49ers’ team offices right now for his second interview for the team’s offensive-coordinator position.

Linehan, clearly a finalist for the job, interviewed with coach Mike Singletary and GM Scot McCloughan on Friday. He was the second person to interview for the job, following Colts receivers coach Clyde Christensen, who met with Singletary and McCloughan earlier that day. Former Browns offensive coordiantor Rob Chudzinski and former Broncos offensive coordinator Rick Dennison also have interviewed for the position.

Linehan is the first candidate for the job to interview twice. Does this mean he will be allowed to leave the Bay Area without a signed contract? Linehan has not been linked to any other jobs this offseason.

The 49ers’ coaches are scheduled to leave early next week for the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.

By the way, here is a list of the up-to-date 2009 Senior Bowl participants that I’ve pieced together from press releases.
