Moss: “I’m the greatest receiver to ever play this game.”

On Tuesday, January 29th, 2013, Randy Moss named himself the greatest receiver of all time.

MOSS: “Now that I’m older, I do think I’m the greatest receiver to ever do it. I don’t think numbers stand, because you can talk about this and this. I think that I’ve had…this year has been a down year for me statistically. The year before I retired was a down year and then Oakland was a down year. I don’t really live on numbers. I live on impact and what you’re able to do out on that field. I really do think that I’m the greatest receiver to ever play this game.”

According to Adam Schefter, this is Jerry Rice’s response to Moss: “Put my numbers up against his numbers.”

RICE’S NUMBERS

303 games; 1,549 catches; 22,895 receiving yards (14.8 yards per catch); 197 receiving TDs.

MOSS’ NUMBERS

218 games; 982 catches; 15,292 receiving yards (15.6 yards per catch); 156 receiving touchdowns.

Do you agree or disagree with Moss, and why?
