The NFL Player’s Association just sent out this press release:
“The NFLPA has retained Richard Craig Smith, Head of Regulatory and Governmental Investigation, United States of Norton Rose Fulbright to conduct our investigation surrounding the due process, discipline, facts and conduct of the NFL League Office and Baltimore Ravens resulting in the indefinite suspension of Ray Rice. As a former federal prosecutor, Mr. Smith brings tremendous experience and expertise. The NFLPA will request that the NFL and the Baltimore Ravens cooperate in the interest of transparency. This investigation will run parallel to Rice’s appeal.”
Someone here mentioned that the Eagles were missing 3 starting O line men. How long have they been out?
They lost their starting RT in the first game, along with the reserve I think. I know they just lost their Center Kelce. I think Mathis, Guard has been out too. Their offensive line played pretty good though, so I think their depth is the big concern, should one or more get dinged against the 49ers….
Philadelphia will be without three starting offensive linemen this Sunday. Center Jason Kelce will have surgery to repair a sports hernia. Reports indicate that he’ll be sidelined for six to eight weeks. Kelce sustained the injury in the first half of Sunday’s win over Washington.
In addition, left guard Evan Mathis is still recovering from a Week 1 MCL sprain in his left knee. Right tackle Lane Johnson is still serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
The Eagles had all five offensive linemen start every game last season. This week, they’ll likely have David Molk at center, Andrew Gardner at right tackle and Dennis Kelly at left guard.
