Question Lady wonders about contract extension

Who are the 49ers targeting for a contract extension? The Question Lady wants to know.

Such players as Vernon Davis and Patrick Willis have every reason to see what happens with the potential of an uncapped year in 2010 before agreeing to long-term extensions with the 49ers. Willis could receive guaranteed money in excess of $25 million with his second contract.

Davis is just now beginning to show signs of becoming the pass-catching threat the 49ers hoped he would be when they drafted him No. 6 overall in 2006. Therefore, Davis‘ market value will just continue to increase as he puts up big numbers.

The one player the 49ers are working on locking up to a long-term deal, according to league sources, is . . .

. . . reserve cornerback Tarell Brown, a fifth-round pick in the 2007 draft.
