Questions for the coach

Questions for the coach

Mike Singletary will meet with the media at 12:15 p.m. to discuss the happenings of the weekend, mostly notably the 49ers’ 20-16 season-opening victory over the Cardinals.

The 49ers managed just 203 yards of offense. They rank 25th in the league – only because there are four teams that play this evening. Defensively, the 49ers are 14th after one game.

When I get home tonight – and after the kids go to bed — I’ll try to watch the game again. One thing I want to see is why the 49ers weren’t able to run successfully. I suspect the Cardinals simply had more defenders to stop the run than the 49ers had players to block. But I’ll pay particular attention to the play of RT Adam Snyder and LG David Baas. Those two guys missed time in training camp with injuries.

I’ll ask Singletary today about the team’s plan at right tackle. Will veteran Tony Pashos start getting worked into the mix?

Before leaving on my flight home this morning, I was on KNBR with Murph and Mac. You can hear the podcast below. (Unless I set it up improperly.)
