Report: Reeves ‘likely’ to accept job with ‘Boys

Apparently, there was some competition for Dan Reeves’ services, after all.

Reeves is likely to take a role with the Cowboys as a consultant, ESPN reported this evening.

Reeves, 65, interviewed for the 49ers’ offensive coordinator position on Friday. It is not known whether the 49ers offered him the job.

His reported job with the Cowboys makes sense. Reeves was an NFL head coach for 23 years. He last served as an offensive coordinator with the Cowboys in 1980. While Reeves has not coached since 2003 when he was fired as Falcons coach, he did serve as a consultant for the Texans in 2005.
