This is the live blog for the third quarter of Super Bowl XLVII. I’ll update this frequently with information and analysis from my living room in Oakland.
5:26 The 49ers are down 15 points. The largest deficit overcome in Super Bowl history is 10 points.
5:32 Jacoby Jones takes the ball out of the back of the end zone, runs straight down the field 109 yards and scores a touchdown. 28-6 Ravens.
5:34 LaMichael James take the ball out from the back of the end zone and gets tackled at the SF 14 yard line.
5:35 Kaepernick rolls left and hits Crabtree for 29 yards. Pollard wasn’t looking.
5:36 From the pistol, Gore runs up the middle for three yards.
5:36 Arthur Jones sacks Kaepernick for a loss of six. Third and 13 at the SF 40.
5:37 The lights just went out in the Superdome. Beyonce blew the fuses. She was too hot to handle.
5:55 Bill Cowher is arguing that Alex Smith would be better suited to lead the 49ers back from this 22-point deficit.

6:11 Kaepernick rolls right and completes a short pass to Delanie Walker for seven yards. The 49ers have to punt.

6:12 Flacco drops back and hits Torrey Smith for 15 yards.
6:13 Rice runs up the middle for three yards. Second and seven from the 38.
6:13 Flacco throws a backshoulder pass to Boldin who just runs up the field. Incomplete. Third and seven.
6:14 Flacco checks down to Rice, who gains six yards. Goldson tackles him in front of the first down marker. The Ravens punt it into the end zone. Touchback. 10:26 left in the third quarter.
6:17 From the pistok, Kaepernick play fakes and scrambles to the left for five yards.
6:18 Kaepernick drops back and scrambles for 15 yards this time. First and 10 at the SF 40.
6:19 From the pistol, Kaepernick hands off to Gore. Gain of two.
6:19 Kaepernick drops back and throws deep to Crabtree. He drops it. Third and eight.
6:20 Kaepernick hits Moss for nine yards and a first down at the Ravens’ 49.
6:21 The 49ers just burned a timeout, their first of the second half. 7:53 left in the third quarter.
6:23 From the pistol, Kaepernick play fakes, drops back and hits Vernon Davis for 18 yards.
6:24 Kaepernick hits Crabtree, who breaks two tackles and scores. Touchdown. 28-13 Ravens with 7:20 left in the third quarter. It’s a game.

6:28 Jones returns the kickoff to the Ravens 17 yard line.
6:29 Flacco play fakes and throws down the field for Boldin but he drops it.
6:29 Pierce up the middle for no gain. Third and 10.
6:30 Bryant McKinnie lets Ahmad Brooks blow right past him and he sacks Flacco. The Ravens punt. It’s shanked. Ginn returns it to the Ravens’ 20 yard line.
6:32 Kaepernick hits Davis for 14 yards.
6:32 Gore runs around the right end for a touchdown.

6:35 Akers makes the extra point. 28-20 Ravens with 4:59 left in the third quarter.
6:38 Jones takes a knee in the end zone. The Ravens will start from their 20 yard line. They have one first down in the second half.
6:39 Rice up the middle for three yards.
6:40 Flacco checks down to Rice and Tarell Brown punches the ball out. The 49ers recover.
6:41 Fist and goal from the 24, Kaepernick overthrows Vernon Davis at the front left pylon.

6:42 Kaepernick throws to Ginn in the end zone and Cary Williams knocks it away.
6:43 Akers pushes the 39-yard field goal wide left, but there is a flag. Running into the kicker. Five yard penalty. Fourth and two at the Ravens’ 16.
6:44 Akers makes the 34-yarder. 28-23 Ravens with 3:10 left in the third quarter.
6:46 Delanie Walker blasts Jones at the Ravens’ 28 yard line.
6:46 Pierce runs up the middle for three yards.

6:48 Flacco hits Boldin and he sprints down the right sideline all the way to the 49ers’ 35 yard line.
6:48 Flacco hits Pitta for seven. Second and three at the SF 28.

6:49 Pierce runs around the left end, escapes an Aldon Smith arm tackle and gains eight yards. First and 10 at the 18 yard line. Pierce is shaken up. That’s the end of the third quarter.
