I just wrote a blog saying the 49ers should cut David Akers ASAP. Are there any other players the 49ers should sever relations with at the end of the season?
If so, who? Ted Ginn Jr. comes to mind. He doesn’t get any snaps at wide receiver any more, he lost his kick returning job to LaMichael James and now he’s bumbling punts. He doesn’t do anything well anymore. He’s one of the worst players in the NFL.
If the 49ers cut him, would anyone sign him? Is he coming to the end of the line?
Who else?
Two names come to mind right away:
- Randy Moss
- Alex Smith
I think we can agree on those two. Is there anyone else? Delanie Walker is a free agent. He’s had an up-and-down season. He has 15 catches, 2 TDs, 7 drops and 1 fumble.
Do you think the 49ers will re-sign him this offseason?
Which other players could be gone next season?
