  1. Yup. Niners did well for 56 minutes, then went brain dead.
    .
Gotta learn how to close out games.
    .
I was reminded of KS in the second half of his SB game.
    .
Still wasted a time out, then used a time out that helped GB at the end.
    .
Some day, they will go bold, and not settle for field goals, if they want to win.
    .
This game was so close, I wonder if having an OC might have helped them to win.

      1. Uh, except for the time Alex Smith beat them in the season opener in 2012 and Kaepernick beat them in the wild card game in 2013. It would be nice if you could be right at least once in a while.

  2. Shanahan called a great game, until he didn’t. Great field position, been running the ball well all night, 3 straight passes. Maddening.

  3. Seems the Niners are back to adding to their growing collection of losses-by-3-points-or-less This is a roster at this point where more starters are backup-material players on defensive backfield, receivers, RBs, etc. Sigh…

  4. Yeah, a broken down and bleeding A. Rodgers is still arguably the best QB in the league.

He feasted on Mabin tonight, but Rodger’ has been doing this throughout his career.

Game was the tale of two halves. The good, bad and the ugly.
A loss always hurts, but the team (imo) is young and developing.

  5. So when is Saleh going to get fired again? Mabin and Witherspoon are horrible defenders. Bench Beathard and start Mullens.

    1. So when did Saleh start drafting players? Exactly what indications have you seen that would warrant starting Nick Mullen?

  6. I don’t see it that way.
Tonight we were about 3 bad plays and inches away (Rodger’ TD about an inch over the CB’ fingers) from possibly getting a win.

Some people chose to see all the negatives, I look for the positives – and don’t apologize for it.
Tonight I saw an improved offense with good O-line play creating good running lanes.
Beathard actually looked like a NFL QB for the better part of the game.

This loss was well distributed from the sidelines to the playing field.

    1. Exact same thing could be said about the Cards game. They dominated that game but found a way to lose. Did it again this week. Its becoming a habit.

Its a good thing that they are, for the most part, playing pretty well. But they really need to stop finding ways to lose games.

      1. I don’t argue that there are games we could have won.
Bad habits are sometimes amplifed by a number of factors. In our case many mistakes are due to youth and inexperience.

The nitpickers will always find faults even after a win as witnessed on this platform after the win against the Lions.
        To each their own.

  7. Yeah, bringing up the the Super Bowl loss is why Shanahan will never be good enough for some around here – even if he wins.

You have branded Shanahan based on one game. If I recall, the defense had a little to do with the SB loss as well.

We simply got beat by a world class QB last night who did what he’s done for 10 years, win in the clutch.

    1. Yep agree….Rodgers did the same thing against a good Bears team on SNF in Week 1. Without Rodgers, the Packers will be 1-4-1.

  8. If you want perfection watch Gymnastics. Btw, not all the contestants score a 10 in that sport either.

  9. Grant, I hope you do your job and ask Shanahan:
Why the support for Saleh and if York tells him he has to be fired, will Shanahan do what York asks?
When do we think about benching CJ Beathard?
What QB would Shanahan want to draft?
