    1. the beast mode will either be brilliant or a flop who is out of shape and fumbles. We shall see. Best of luck to our Niners. I wish Ford would get well..he has missed much of the season.

  1. The 49ers DL really should dominate this one with both Brown and Pocic out. And no Diggs at FS is good news for JG.

    1. Regardless of what happens tonight, the Squawks have to play next week. They might just not be taking any chances with guys who are “on the fence” with regards to playing tonight.

  2. Disappointed that Dee Ford couldn’t get up for this game with the importance here.
Sanders played with broken ribs after taking a week off. Tartt takes a month off and still can’t play. Certainly an eyebrow raiser.

    1. So glad you know the extent of his hamstring injury; did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night to earn your medical degree?

      1. I actually have an associates degree as a paramedic. A BSN from Sonoma State and an M.S.N from U of A (school of medicine). I have 15 years experience in emergency medicine. But if I question why a player sits 4 weeks on a hamstring or why a player sits 4 weeks on broken ribs, I am questioning it as a fan. Purely a fan.

        1. Thank you for your medical service. As a fan, I think we should take at face value what the team instructs Ford to do in regard to resting his injury, and on the player as to what he can handle. The last time he tried to come back, he re-injured the hamstring. I figure they are trying not to repeat the same occurrence.

    2. It is evident that you never played any serious football. They won tonigjt without the. Dumb commemt.

  3. 4:40 PM Seattle weather forecast:
    Precipitation 10%
    Wind 1 MPH
    Humidity 76%
    Temp 49 F

    * Greatest concern: 9er players that haven’t played in Seattle’s CLink before!
    * Solution: 9ers score early and take the crowd out of the game!

  4. Biggest week 17 surprise:
    * Miami Dolphins 27, New England Patriots 24
    * Chicago Bears 21, Minnesota Vikings 19

    * Expecting a high scoring game: 9ers = 38 Sea hags = 31

  5. Niners show no mercy to the Seahawks.
    Defense play with extreme violence.
Offense run the score up so Mullins gets to play in the fourth qtr.

  6. I was unable to post for about 20 minutes until I changed my location via a VPN. But after one post, I had to change the location again in order to successfully post. Not sure if others are having this problem, but the number of posts is really low on this thread.

  7. Even if we lose.. we get to play the eagles and green bay………i still like our chances….

  8. I am sure Seattle wants to win, but if I were them, I would MUCH prefer to go to Philly via a loss vs winning and going to Minnesota…….

      1. Too fast for me Scooter- came back to change it……… I hope they go double TE sets and involve Dwelley to start.

  9. we owe Seattle a good old fashioned football beat down. Seatle will be tough tho, they always are.

  10. * Needed a TD! But 3 points is better than nothing…..
    * Time for the “D” to show up BIG! Can Sherman make a statement and get into Wilson’s head?

  11. Much like last time we faced them the Niners are off to a good start. Thank God the D showed up. Gotta keep it going…

  12. Good to see that Jimmy didn’t put his leg back on that QB sneak. Don’t need to telegraph the play.

  13. Wtf… they never put those 10 seconds back on the clock when San Fran took the timeout to prevent the 10 second runoff…

  14. If it was a forward pass (which it was) Breida never made a football move so that’s incomplete… Unless of course the refs decide to fck us.

  15. Hell of a first half on both sides of the ball!…BALANCE!
Jimmy looks great so far…only one bad pass high to Mostert.
    Keep this shi* going!
Eight is Enough!! It’s our time dammit!!

  16. Good half of football. Would have been nice if Deebo had secured the ball down near the goal line as I think with better ball security he could have fought for the 1st down, but all in all he had a fantastic first half. As did pretty much all the skill players on offense.

D has been excellent. Need to keep that going in the second half.

  17. Game seems awfully close for a one sided half. Reminds me of our last game against them. Total early domination.. but one screw up can change the whole complexion.

  18. KJ Wright is diagnosing plays very rapidly. Hopefully, it’s not because they are picking up on the 49ers signals.

  19. Grant help! Looks like the spam filter is killing the ability to post here during the game. I am forbidden and from the volume of posts it looks like many other people are too. People will stop coming if it’s not fixed. I have had this issue for the last three weeks. I have one maybe two posts this thread.

    1. For those who have VPNs, keep changing the IP address by switching to another city or country. That is working for me, although this is very annoying.

    1. I agree. Spoon turning his back to the ball? Can’t play defense like that. Wilson is too smart.
      This is a huge drive.

  20. Well our D is going to be gassed chasing Wilson the entire second half. Look for things to open up now for their offense. It’s going to be a long second half. The momentum has shifted. Kyle needs to find a running game.

  21. Jimmy’s gonna need to change the launch point on some of the plays coming up. Their D is going to be jazzed.

  22. Great response by the offense. The playcalling is spectacular; FB pass route; quick slant out of a three TE run formation look…

  23. I’m not sure I agree with the 2 point try there.
It totally factors out momentum shifts in a game.

    And I work in analytics.

    1. 19 t0 7…. 2 TD’s beat you
      20 t0 7…. 2 TD’s beat you
      21 to 7….. 2 TD’s TIE you

      Right call at the time.

  24. I’m sorry, how the f*ck was that Seattle TD not reviewed?! Wilson was a yard last the line of scrimmage when he threw that ball?!

    1. His whole body has to be pass the line of scrimmage, including his arm and the ball. His arm and ball were behind the line of scrimmage.

  25. You can always rely on Bourne to have one play where he lacks awareness entirely. Otherwise great response. Defence needs a stop.

  26. Hmmm, someone picked 26-20. Oh wait, that was me. :) No quick scores now. Seb, in your limited imagination, you pick 24-23 every game. That automatically eliminates you from any bragging. Yea sure. :)

  27. Too bad the D isn’tplaying like they did 6 weeks ago and prior… the team would be unstoppable. I won’t be shedding any tears if another team is dumb enough to hire Saleh as HC.

    1. How do you figure in the loss of Alexander, Blair, Ford, Taylor and Tartt in the defense’s performance? No excuses on my end

    2. 6 weeks ago and prior, Niners were playing the dregs of the league. No comparison to the Seattle, GB, NO, Baltimore (even LA) they’ve been playing since. They are holding their own pretty well against the elites

    3. Saleh just not the defensive savant Ribico & Grant have been touting.
Defense has been complete bust in 2nd half & 49ers are bound for 1
      and out in playoffs.

      1. Take that negativity elsewhere dude. Oh never mind, you are on the most negative site of the Niners blogosphere. Carry on.

  28. There sure seems to be an opportunity to blitz on third and 5 third and 6 third and 4 and they keep going to a two deep safety front. Questionable.

  29. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that Witherspoon is such a highly regarded athlete. Get him the hell out of there.

  30. Need to take a good hard look at whether Mosley would be a better CB option than Witherspoon at this point.

    1. I would attack him as well. He always been a scrub. The pass rush just hid his ineptitude. Matheu was available to pick up and the team passed on him. K-C couldn’t be happier.

  31. I wish I could have faith in this defence but I just don’t. Just praying to any and every God they can do something to stop tjis being another miracle Seahawk comeback.

    1. The coordinator needs to be fixed. A
Load of talent. He came come up with a decent game plan, but he cannot make in game adjustments.

  32. Wilson almost beat us all by himself. We weren’t able to get a hand on him. Something is wrong with our defense. Can’t get a sack.

  33. Wow is right. But I still do not think highly of Saleh. That was a great play by one of his players (Greenlaw), but Saleh inspires no confidence for me when the team plays a good offense (Green Bay excepted).

  34. Boy oh boy, they made much harder work of that than it ever needed to be, but that’s a huge win. Very fortunate in the end. The delay of game was crucial. But can’t underplay how big that tackle by Greenlaw and Warner was. Massive, and mainly Greenlaw’s hit that did it.

Getting the #1 seed was really a must, and they did it. Great job.

The offense was really good today. The defense was great in the first half but showed once again why the bye is so important for this team in the second half. Pass rush really fell away as the game wore on.

Witherspoon really struggled with Metcalf, and Moseley had even bigger issues. Need the corner opposite Sherman to play better than that in the playoffs.

    1. That’s also the first time for quite a while that a 49ers game didn’t end with whichever team had the last drive winning it (I am not counting the 49ers QB sneak at the end as a drive). Sure has been some exciting football basically since the Packers game.

    2. Read my mind. Much closer game than it needed to be. The plaster cracked, and it wasn’t just Witherspoon. Gotta shore that up poste haste over the bye period. Sure feels good to be back as NFC West division champions, Scooter_McG!

          1. Moseley had a critical pass break up at the goal line after coming in cold. He’s an improvement and will be better when he’s not thrown in on the last drive.

            1. Yes, he had a pass breakup. That was good, especially how he was able to recover after being beat easily to start with on that play (of course being beat so easily to start with was a worry). However, it’s not as if Witherspoon didn’t have any pass breakups either. Problem with Witherspoon is he gave up a heap, and in one drive so did Moseley.

It was definitely a tough spot Moseley was put in, I understand that. But lets not kid ourselves into thinking he played well in his short stint. If he was an improvement it was marginal, and driven more by how bad Spoon was playing that it was hard to be worse. The last few times he has been in now he has gotten picked on a bit, much like Spoon is getting picked on. Need both of these guys to step it up a notch for the playoffs.

But anyway, nitpicking. It was a huge win. Time to celebrate.

      1. Yes we are my man. Gregg I just got my tickets for the Indy 500 so should be seeing ya in there somewhere.

  35. Monkey, you’re finally off our back’s! Now go away …. far, far away …. and never come back!

    GO Niners!

  36. Who needs Cohn and his pregame nonsense. Just listen to the Juan. :)

I actually think the Niners will cover the 3 (My “friend” has it at 3, though the paper this morning was at 3 1/2). As far as the O/U (47), the Niners haven’t scored more than 30 in forever up there so I’d take the under most likely. So there it is! SF -3 and the under (47)

    SF 26 SEA 20

Great game! Enjoy the evening folks!!!

  37. Take that Sneaky Pete!!!! ???????????????????
Your f’n luck finally ran out!!!????

    #1 MF SEED!!!!!

  38. What a freakin awesome game! Loved the fight shown by the D. Greenlaw is steadily improving every game and made the tackle of the game….another good pick by Lynch!

The reason this game was so close is because of Shanahan getting cute again….I don’t know what his fascination is with Coleman. Hopefully the bye week gives him time to introspect.

Gotta tip our hat to Caroll…..great game played by the ‘Hawks!

  39. THE WEST IS NOT ENOUGH!!

    Time for some Fireball shots!!!!!????????????????
5 game win streak!….2 down and 3 to go!!! ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  40. My New Years wish is three more wins for the Niners, and at least one game that does not come down to the final seconds. What has it been, 5 games in row down to the last play?

    1. Yes but the big concern now is what to with Witherspoon? Have they basically blown up his confidence? Kinda like what they’ve done with Pettis?
Point is how do you go back to those guys now.

  41. Congratulations to all the 49er fans who never wavered during the rebuild and always cheered when so many doubted the plan.

    Playoffs now!

    Let’s go Niners!!!!!!!

    1. Yes! The rebuild was unconventional for two reasons. It was the first time the Niner fans had ever seen one and the team had all those available resources to work with. This allowed them to pick players who would fit their system rather than just patching holes with BPA. It is understandable why some would have gotten discouraged because it was not like anything they had seen probably ever.

  42. I look forward to the 49ers hosting Seattle in two weeks……. wit Dee Ford and Tartt back…….

Did they switch the AFC/NFC games next weekend? – ie, does the NFC typically play on Saturday of Wild Card weekend? Anyone…………..?

      1. I was just wondering if NFC has typically played on Saturday in the past……and if there was a change to that?

  43. I’m sure we’ll be playing the seahags again in two weeks. Honestly, I think that will be our hardest test. I think we can beat the packers and even the saints if we make it to the NFCCG.

  44. I hope the National media gives it to Pete Carroll for costing his team with a terrible ill advised delay of game penalty.

    1. One of the pundits said it was an illegal procedure call, not that it makes any difference. Did they hike the ball before the downed lineman got back to the line of scrimmage?

  45. Guys I turned the tv off with 9:45 left in the fourth. Couldn’t jinx it. So happy they won!!!

And that moron Sebnynah… are you taking credit for your blowout prediction?

      1. Fitting. He’s dicked around bit Skittes boy twice in crucial situations now. Cost them a super bowl when he didn’t call his number lol

    1. I was thinking the same thing! This team has grown and learned so much over the season man. The D will be back. The O stepped up the 2nd half of the season.

  46. Umm anyone know which D-lineman went down with a broken hair follicle tonight? Is he going on IR or down a couple weeks only?

  47. A very happy Niners fan here.

A great season, a great game, and a wonderful future.

I very much wanted Jimmy’s first game in Seattle to be a win. It was and he played great.

I don’t like complaining about the officiating, because it usually means that you have lost the game. However, on the Niners last possession the Personal Foul penalty on Garland was bogus. It was a bang, bang continuation play with him blocking his man downfield. Without that egregiously bad call we would have run out the clock.

    1. Which makes the delay of game penalty a bit of karmic balance. The personal found was atrocious.

  48. AWESOME , AWESOME , AWESOME
    1. I am not sure if my heart can take any more of these games.
    2. Greenlaw is the man. He shared Russ W spy responsibilities with Warner and both did a great job. Obviously the last play of the game saved the day.
    3. The Spoon issue needs to be addressed by coaches. He cost us the ATL game and nearly Rams and Seahawks .
    4. Jimmy (118.8 QBR) , Deebo, Kittle, Mostert and Juice had great games.
    5. Staley shut down Clowney
