Lawrence Dushensky of the NFL blog This Given Sunday asked me six questions about the 49ers. The theme of his line of questioning was this: Can the 49ers shock the Saints? And how could they possibly do it?
I’m linking my six answers to my six questions at the bottom. To be clear, I do think the Niners can “shock” the Saints. I think the Niners will win 17-16.
I’m expecting the Niners defense to hold the Saints to fewer than 20 points – they’ll give up just one touchdown and a few field goals and in the process they’ll show the nation they’re a championship defense.
The 49ers will force the Saints to play 49er football, and that’s a game the 49ers will win.
