Cosell says the Dolphins defense “can be beaten in the pass game.”

Greg Cosell just spoke on KNBR. Here’s what he said about the matchup between the Dolphins defense and the 49ers offense.

Q: What do the Dolphins bring defensively? We know what the Rams brought – indoor speed rushing that caused problems. What about the Dolphins outdoors at Candlestick?

COSELL: “The Dolphins’ D-line is very good too, that’s the strength of their defense. It will be very interesting to see how the 49ers O-line responds.

“The two interior tackles for the Dolphins are Randy Starks and Paul Soliai, and they have played well. Starks has been good all year, and Soliai the last couple of weeks has really jumped out on film. They have a really good edge rusher in Cameron Wake. This will be an interesting matchup.

“Now, I think they can be beaten in the pass game, at the corner position. I think you can beat them in the slot, where they play a guy named Jimmy Wilson, and I think one of their corners – Nolan Carroll – can be beaten as well.

“I’m very anxious to see how Jim Harbaugh comes out and chooses to play offensively this week. I don’t know whether he’s going to be aggressive – because we’ve seen at times when you least expect it, they come out and they’re real aggressive with the pass game. I don’t know how he’s going to approach this game. It’s tough to say.

“But I think he’ll want to get his run game going. Whether that means they just come out and hand it off – I don’t know. But I know they’ll want to get their run game going. They did not run the ball well last week after the first quarter.

“I would bet they’ll have a couple of package plays for LaMichael James, because he’s an explosive guy.”

How do you think Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman will choose to attack the Dolphins offensively?
