Crabtree catches passes in practice

SANTA CLARA — Although he’s still on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Michael Crabtree was on the practice field today catching passes from all the 49ers quarterbacks.

He was not in uniform – he was wearing a sweat suit and a backwards hat – but he spent about ten minutes running bubble screen routes. He jogged and cut but did not sprint. All the other receivers were stretching or doing receiver-specific drills, so Crabtree volunteered himself to help the quarterbacks warm up.

After he’d caught about fifty passes he walked off the practice field and joined Shawntae Spencer and the other injured 49ers in the stretching area.

Crabtree showed no limp or discomfort in his foot. Perhaps the possibility of him officially rejoining the team soon is better than I thought.
