Crabtree: “I just had some x-rays and I’m all good.”

SAN FRANCISCO – Michael Crabtree caught one pass for four yards today. He also dropped a pass.

He played one series in the second half before the coaching staff pulled him from the game. Afterwards, I saw him limp off the field.

He spoke at his locker a few minutes later, and he informed reporters that he’d already had an x-ray for his left foot, the one he’s broken twice, and the x-rays were negative.

Here’s exactly what he said.

Q: Why didn’t you play in the second half?

CRABTREE: I wasn’t 100 percent. I was just happy to be out there doing the little stuff that I did. It’s good to be back out there.

Q: So, just general soreness?

CRABTREE: It’s my foot that’s sore. Everything else is good. It’s my foot. It’s an injury.

Q: Did you break it again?

CRABTREE: No, I just had some x-rays and I’m all good.

Q: What did you think of the win today?

CRABTREE: It was the Ted Ginn show. He put a show on today.

Q: When he hit the corner on that punt return, did you know that he was gone at that point?

CRABTREE: It was like him running a 200 (meter dash), hitting that curve. I saw him striding, and I said, “That’s a touchdown.” As soon as he hit the corner, I said, “Touchdown.”

Q: Were the shoes uncomfortable?

CRABTREE: It doesn’t matter what shoes I have on – it’s my foot. It’s not totally healed, but it’s good enough for me to go out and play.

ME: Does your foot get sore at the end of practices?

CRABTREE: Not at all, just today. When you’re giving it your all in the game, you know how it goes. First game – it should be alright though.

Q: You said the x-rays have already come back negative. Were you concerned that you did something to your foot?

CRABTREE: Yeah, it was hurting so bad I was concerned. Like I said, that’s going to happen. If it’s like that in a month I’ll have to fight through it and finish the game, but we came out with the W today. That’s the important thing.

Q: Are you going to play next week?

CRABTREE: I’m going to play every week. The season has started. If it hurts again and I can’t go, then I’m just going to come out.

Q: Did you circle this next game against Dallas, since you’re from Dallas?

CRABTREE: I circle every game – it’s just another game. It’s big, but it’s not that big.

ME: Was it on one specific play that you hurt your foot?

CRABTREE: No, I was doing so much and then it just started getting sore on me. I hid it, I didn’t want anyone to see, but then I started limping. It started getting sore, and then at halftime it started getting a little stiff on me. I came out a little late, limping. I’ll be alright.

Q: There was a play where you appeared to be open in the back of the end zone and the cameras caught you flapping your arms up and down…

CRABTREE: Yeah, I shouldn’t have done that (laughs). I’m just so competitive. I thought I had a touchdown and I kind of spazzed out a little bit.
