Gore says his agent felt good about the meeting

SANTA CLARA – Frank Gore spoke at his locker this afternoon about his contract negotiations and he was smiling. He didn’t say anything about signing a contract extension, but he said the meetings went well.

About forty-five minutes after he spoke, Pro Player Sports marketing tweeted, “Congrats to Frank Gore on signing his extension with the Niners today.”

Rosenhaus’ office had no comment.

I will update you with any Gore developments as soon as they happen.

Until then, here’s the complete transcript of Gore’s interview. Did he give anything away? You make the call.

Q: How do you feel about the meeting between your agent and the team?

GORE: Positive that they met face to face. That’s a positive. Drew felt good about everything, (about) the talk. Now, we haven’t made a decision. We haven’t gotten that done yet.

Q: Do you feel it’s going to get done soon?

GORE: We’ll see where they’re at. We’ll see where we’re at and hopefully we can get something done before the season.”

Q: What will happen when it’s done?

GORE: I told Drew, man, just call me when he feels right, when he feels what’s fair for both sides. Hopefully I can be a Niner. I want to be here for my whole career. Our GM said he wanted me here for my whole career. Hopefully my side, their side can get it done.

Q: Do you feel the meeting went positively?
GORE: It went positive. My agent, they met face to face. I told my agent, don’t call me until he feels there’s something fair. Hopefully we can get something done before the season. I want to be a Niner. I want to be here. Hopefully we get something done.

Q: Is Drew still here?

GORE: He went back but you can always talk over the phone.

Q: Have you talked with Drew?

GORE: We talked (with Drew). I told him, ‘let me know when he feels we have something fair.’ Whenever he feels there’s something fair, I guess we’ll get a deal done.

Q: Have you talked to Trent Baalke?

GORE: Trent said he wants me here. He wants me to finish my career here. Hopefully I can work with him whenever I’m done with football. He says I have lots of talent. I want to be here. I want to finish my career here. You never see a Niner back do that.
